Skinwalker Ranch has been basically debunked. "Author Robert Sheaffer believes the phenomenon at Skinwalker to be "almost certainly illusory", given that NIDsci found no proof after several years of monitoring, and that the previous owners of the property, who had lived there for 60 years, say that no supernatural events of any kind had happened there. Sheaffer considers the "parsimonious explanation" to be that the Sherman family invented the story "prior to selling it to the gullible Bigelow", with many of the more extraordinary claims originating solely from Terry Sherman, who worked as a caretaker after the ranch was sold to Bigelow. In 1996, skeptic James Randi awarded Bigelow a tongue-in-cheek Pigasus Award for funding the purchase of the ranch and for supporting John E. Mack's and Budd Hopkins' investigations. The award category designated Bigelow as "the funding organization that supported the most useless study of a supernatural, paranormal or occult [claim]" ~ Wikipedia (You can find this information all over the Internet; but I have chosen to use the information from Wikipedia because the explanation is so succinct and easy to understand)
why would you be surprised? obviously there are more than 30 scary places on earth so they obviously can’t put every single scary place in the same video. also, the video is about scary places you should never visit alone but going to skinwalker ranch with multiple people only makes it easier for skinwalkers to get you
You missed Waverly Hills Sanatorium, a former tuberculosis hospital in Louisville KY. It's a bit touristy now but friends and I went there one night in the 70's. We made it to the morgue and rooms full of scary medical equipment, and hundreds of rusting beds. 😱 There is also a tunnel known as the Death Tunnel that provided a secret way to remove the dead as well as a route for supplies for the hospital. I think a horror film or two were made about it.
which by the way, i was given for free in 1995 because of a radio contest Z104.5 The Edge! my brother got one to....Stabbing westwards second album which went double platinum at the time.....and i got God Lives underwater - Empty XD
Bram Castle has nothing on Poenari Castle, the REAL Castle Dracula. There is no question that Vlad the Impaler actually lived there, and there's a famous story about how it was built - Vlad took a group of Wallachian nobles who had previously betrayed his family prisoner and forced them to work on the castle. They are said to have worked until their clothes actually wore out and fell off their bodies. The nobles eventually died of exhaustion.
I just got back from Venice and I asked a local tour guide about Poveglia. He said it is NOT illegal to visit. He went there with some friends because one of them had his own boat. The Italian government would prefer that you stayed off of certain parts of the island and you don't have picnics there or whatever, but this is for environmental reasons to preserve the buildings and the nature. It's not because it's haunted. It isn't. Like, at all.
El caminito is actually very safe, they make you wear a helmet, but other then that is pretty much a walkway. I'm not a fan of heights but the only thing that was hard for me was the bridge, it's faaaaaar from how scary it was before the new walkways were instaled, and once they didn't remove the old ones, you can see them under the new ones, it was absolutely crazy!
The traditional burial method was long stopped already, and the hanging coffins site is now a tourist spot. You can't go near the coffins as they're hanging on the cliff, you can only watch from a distance. So nothing to creep out.
There are so many creepy places you could easily come up with another list. I went to the Necropolis in Glasgow, for instance. The place I would find most creepy is the island of the dolls bc dolls fall in the uncanny valley for me. They look human, but you know there's something off about them. Weird to realize mummified corpses and skeletons freak me out less than dolls.
I’ll never forget about the Stanley hotel. My aunt and uncle moved to Colorado from Michigan. We went and visited them when I was 6. We stayed in a cabin in the Rockies and my dad rented the shining. Because we were going to visit the Stanley hotel the next day…. So I literally learned about this movie. Was terrified. And then was mad to go to the hotel 🤣🤣 It was pretty cool. But the maze isn’t real. I guess that was based off of some real maze in Japan or something. I think lol.
Using the Ghost Hunter guy as a "witness" for something creepy immediately makes the story lose credibility. His income is literally based around coming up with creepy stories.
Like all those fake paranormal stories on Paranormal Caught on Camera. I can’t believe they will put anything on TV, and like half of those people have a paranormal business 😂. Horrible. It used to be good but maybe they ran out of content 😂
I've been saying this for so long. Sorry but it's very very hard for me up believe anyone who has a show that depicts so many "Spirits" messing the whole show. It's very difficult to believe simply to boost their show.
I'm kind of surprised in 30 entries you couldn't find a spot for Port Arthur, Tasmania, Aradale Asylum in Victoria or Melbournes Princess Theatre. We all know about Aokigahara, Alcatraz and the Cecil Hotel, how about some places that haven't been covered dozens of times already on this channel?
23:51 It's a very good thing that the Darvasa Crater was set on fire. If it had not been, methane gas would have been leaking ever since they found it. Methane outgassings occur all over the world to great human tragedy. Can you imagine living near a place where an odorless, flammable gas has been leaking for 52 years, just waiting for a passing motorist to pull over and light a cigarette because he/she needed to stretch their legs? {Boom!}
Bran has nothing to do with Vlad Tepes, it's a tourist trap bc it was built around the time Vlad lived. His actual castle is Poenari, nowadays just a ruin.
the Hanging Coffins at Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines are not creepy specifically the municipality of Sagada.. my family been there.. I will recommended to visit Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines just forget the hanging coffins are there..
Bran castle is just a tourist trap and it is well known that it has nothing to do with Dracula, if you go there and pay for a tour, they will tell you that during the tour as well. I guess you're using it as a filler but it's sad to see it here, it was a major disappointment when I went there and I was already aware of it being a tourist trap, I just didn't expect it to be that bad. Good mulled wine outside for an euro tho.
Any place that encourages tourists and/or makes money from its "haunted" or mysterious reputation should be automatically suspect as a hoax or at least vastly overrated.
As much as I like Japan, I wouldn't have to do that forest if it is that risky and dangerous. I just want to stay alive and play video games. Aokigahara Forest is not for me to travel alone.
Seriously though why all the repeats Watchmojo? this is like the 10th time of the same compilation same mentions and all…. how about places we haven’t already covered a million times already lesser known places unheard of.
I’d complain as well but at this point I’m surprised they even have any topics left at all to make videos about 🤣they been puttin out multiple a day for years now. Like god Dahm 🤣
I've been to 6 of these places, and your title is rubbish. For most of these locations, you'll never be alone, since there will be lots of other toursts there at any given time. Btw, the Sedlec Ossuary in Kutna Hora, The Czech Republic, is VERY small, but you never see that in these videos. Hint for travellers driving there: park by the nearby fairly modern cathedral, it's free of charge (at least it was just before covid).
"unique?" (2:15) just check the same practice in Toraja, Sulawesi, Indonesia. They're just tourist traps, to bring curious people to spend their money there
It always amazes me how many people believe in ghosts or spirits or whatnot. Most of these places really wouldn't be scary to see at all, it's just a bunch of gullible people have made them out to be more than what they are
