Great video and great event, as my first competitive event all I can say is thank you for a terrific time! For those on the fence about attending Nova all I can say is make the trip! Great people and great times! As for the cheating it is indeed a shame that someone would disrespect not only his opponents but also the organizers of NOVA. This hobby is all encompassing and so deep for someone to go to that extent to simply rank does a massive disservice to our community and clearly this person is not in the hobby for the appropriate reasons! As stated in the video though this is a rare thing and a poor choice that will not only haunt this individual for years to come but removes him from on of the finest gaming communities I have found in my 16 years of wargaming!
Unfortunately we didn't want to disqualify him until we had a majority vote from the leaders of the ASBGA and the CEO of NOVA. We wanted to talk about all the evidence since accusing someone of cheating requires a lot of evidence. The CEO of NOVA asked me to keep him in the pairings during the event since I cant legally remove him (I dont own the NOVA Convention) but he was supposed to be removed in the 4th round if it was my ultimate decision. After NOVA was over, we all agreed that he did in fact cheat and he was banned post-event.

I have a few questions for now: [1] What does "Loaded Dice" mean? [2] If I found my way into one of these NOVA tournaments would I be allowed to use unofficial troop types like an Easterling Siege Bow, Easterling King or any kind of Easterling on a war chariot? And if so would I have to ask permission of each opponent I face individually? [3] Where do these NOVA games normally take place?
Loaded dice are dice that are weighted to always land on a specific side. In this case it was made to give the result of a 6. You cannot use unofficial profiles but you may proxy if you would like. I live in the Houston Area in Texas and am really looking for a gaming group or a store to play this game. This game looks absolutely fantastic, however, my one reservation is that I may not have anyone to play with on a consistent basis. I have played the lotr strategic battelg ame with a group of around 12 people. About 1 year ago the group fell apart and now I am playing with 3 of my friends. But I would love to play bigger games with more people. Do you have any idea how I can find people to play with XD? I live in the netherlands btw. Fastrider 49 I hear germany has quite a big community for lotr, the organizers of most tournaments actually also have an own youtube channel called HTL World. So if that isn't a little too far away for you you could visit a few tournaments there and get contacts through that. Else I would propose that you try to get new people into the hobby in your area.

That is really sad there was a cheater! I really don't get why people cheat in wargames and video games, a victory is empty if you didn't earn it, and what is worth it about an empty victory?!?
HAHAHAhaha, unbelievable! I use to joke about loaded dice, never actually thought an individual would stoop so low in a wargame by using them, and he's a thief to boot, lol. These grand tournaments have major prizes, this man is a thief through and through.
The reason he chose 1 of elronds sons as his General is because arnor Captains have bad courage and Malbeth is very fragile. Also malbeth is already one of the priority targets to kill so making him your general actually works against you. And ofc the rivendel knight captain can not be the general because he was only allied in the force.
I agree with that assessment. I actually only remembered that he couldnt pick the Rivendell Knight captain after I filmed it. After thinking about it again, Elladan is the most logical choice

With the extra 100 points, I would likely focus on numbers. Buying another Captain wont do much good. So I would probably fill the warband for the Ballista with more troops
The the trick with that is you can't get more than 5 troops in Dain and the other captain's warband, so either 5 more goats; another banner bearer, 2 goats, a spear and shield, and crossbow and spear; or switching out the engineer captain for a normal captain to lead more troops.
