I am learning to code and I just set the goal to make an Open Source POS for restaurants where it is dynamic and the owner can have full control and customization over what he needs. So I need to code the program for execution in any computer and still have the option to be online. Also, after ending the session the owner could have the option to keep it there offline, to upload it to our servers (which would be needed to be on Switzerland for the tax evation) or their own servers for storing. Although I don't know how I could keep the servers secured and running without any income... Anyway, wish me luck!
What pos is best for small businesses like barbershop or hair salons? And is there an option to have one without the use of internet. And what do you think about NCR?
Sorry, but I haven't ever used Paradise POS. Pretty small company so I don't know much about them. Let us know if you end up using them and what your experience is.
Hey Craig, I do love GoTab still. They were in a rebuilding phase for awhile but they are back now better than ever. go.barpatrol.net/go-tab-demo-TRB I'll be doing a video on them soon. Thanks for stopping by.
to Hello David, question, i have been watching your videos and they are great, maybe what i am looking for doesn't exist, but who better to ask than you! i am shopping for a POS system for a restaurant full service. We are wanting to buy the software upfront instead of paying a monthly fee, and that allows us to continue with our payment processor. We currently have micros, but since they were bought by Oracle customer service is lacking and would like to get a different option. Any suggestions?
Hey there, I'm always happy to help. Unfortunately in this case, I am not aware of any quality system these days that offers up front payment for the software with no monthly fee. This is how they make their money, especially over recent years. The hardware costs have gone down but the subscription fees have gone up. I would love to help, but I don't have a magic pill for you here in which you wouldn't pay a monthly fee. I do wish you the best of luck though, and please let me know if you find one that accommodates you. Cheers.
Hello David, Thanks for advices, question! What are the best POS systems that you would use for a small japanese restaurant? Like about 1,000 sq/ft and 35-40 seats total.
Haven't done the video yet, but I will in the near future. I do have a blog post review on Heartland if you'd like though: therealbarman.com/heartland-pos-review/
Currently in the process of choosing between Toast and Rezku for a small pizzeria. I’ve been going back and forth. My brother currently uses Toast at his pizzeria and it’s a great system but can be a little annoying at times. Any thoughts and recommendations? Thanks
Hey Joe, if I were you I would look at a pizza-specific POS system like Thrive or Slice. The main POS systems simply aren't set-up very well for pizzerias. Best of luck to you.
Hey Dave, just recently came across your channel and watched a bunch of videos, really great information. Have you looked into Toast POS system? My restaurant uses it, along with many in my area, in my opinion its much better than Square , what do you think?
