Wow, this is a great winter season! And on top of that, an unexpected number 1 for me. This season has had its share of surprises and disappointments, but it's a great start to the year.
Yorushika lived up to Frieren's previous OP. Sawano, FZMZ and MAISONdes collabs were awesome (great comeback by TXT btw), ZAQ surprised me a lot and released, in my opinion, the best OP of COTE. Creepy Nuts has released one of the most successful OPs of the decade (and well deserved), they are already #1 on the Billboard. Novelbright finally released a beautiful song. Kroi improved a lot from the Under Ninja OP. And the breakthrough group of the season (and probably of the year): Atarayo!! I was fascinated by Bokuyaba's new OP.
The big disappointment of the season for me was SID. For not having released anisongs in 3 years, this comeback was pretty weak. If they get called back for the new season of Black Butler, hopefully they'll release a better song.
UVERworld's return to Blue Exorcist was good, but I expected more. BUMP OF CHICKEN declined a lot from their previous track "Souvenir". Mayu Maeshima, MindaRyn, Shiyui, FLOW, Uru, sajou no hana, YU-KA, Hiroshi Kitadani and even Aina Suzuki were good.
First Top 10 to Atarayo, Yorushika, Kroi and Novelbright.
