In my opinion, the sound of Wind can be described in these terms (with a nozzle filter applied) Pros: Wide Tall Ultra-Expansive 3D Open Big sounding Transparent midrange Balanced, as opposed to V-shaped Macrodynamic Natural Timbre Natural Tone Physicality thanks to BC driver Cons: Bass texture could be better Stereo separation could be better Microdynamics could be better Very slightly thinned out lower mids Nothing sounds like the Wind at the price point though. Open backed BC+DD, this is what the Raptgo Hook X wanted to be.
man. your videos are just a nice time to watch. the editing, music, the entire schtick you do with going to grab the stuff and your awesome b-roll. I am not going to buy every iem you review but I might watch all the videos xD
Nice! Love the comps. I keep hearing how good the Dunu Falcon Ultra is. And with the SA6 II being out of reach for awhile, that might be next on my list of must haves. Nothing against the wind ( let the cowboys ride!), but there’s so much really really good competition at that price point. Excellent review as always. ☮️
Bassdad8! Thanks so much bud! I'll definitely be interested to hear your thoughts if you pick up the Falcon Ultra. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the engagement as usual!
My set of Falcon Ultras just came this afternoon! Very good quality driver I can tell right off the bat. Good punch and slam and dynamics and good overall levels of detail. This is actually the most expensive single DD I currently own as everything else I have are all hybrids/tribrids and planars etc. So far, I HATE the cable and also that they’re mmcx connectors. But the build is excellent. The bass is fast and tight and very punchy. Mids feel energetic enough to not be veiled or recessed majorly but don’t quite reach Harman levels of energy (thankfully for me) and the treble is well extended and offers good air as well. Overall a fantastic set at the price with many quality accessories included as well. Hope ya enjoy if you pull the trigger on them! Great review like always Dave, thank you so much!
Nice review as always, this is a nice looking set. I've got 3 of your top 5 (Falcon Ultra, Yume 2, Chopin) and they are all very, very good in this price range. I've never tried P5 as I have the P8.
Brutal competition at this price. Performer 5 is now aggressively priced, Quintet is unique, and the Fermat is also excellent. Also had the Falcon Ultra, and it's solid, not spectacular for the price range. Nice review esthetic, per usual. 👌
Yes, it's 15 % off at Amazon right now. So $187 instead of $220. Great value. Performer 8 is also 10% off at Amazon as well, putting it directly against the Blessing 3, likely not by accident. 😊@chanmunphang8361
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch! The small desktop speakers are the Fiio SP3's being fed by a Topping E70 DAC on my right (the side desk) and is blocked by me in the opening shot. I also have a Topping L70 amp and Fiio M11 Plus (on its little stand) on the side desk as well. Then on my main desk, in front of me, the stack on my left is the Matrix mini I4 streamer paired with the Aune S17 Pro. Then directly in front of me, under my monitor stand is the Xduoo XD05 Pro. The stack on my right is the Rose Technics RT-5000 but directly under it is a Topping E70 Velevet DAC. The Velvet is sending a signal to my Topping PA5 II Plus (also under my monitor stand) and that is what is powering my KEF R300 main speakers. Thanks again for checking out the channel and happy new year!
