The console charging station is REALLY incredible. The only problem I have with it is it doesn't look like it allows for controllers with Trigger attachments. My triggers are longer and don't look like they would fit in that
For the core gamer, only the controller grip is truly worth your time and money. But most of you will be using a wired controller or elite variant either way. The cooling or airflow vents are a complete waste of money. The top one is ridiculous and could do more harm than good. Only the back part would be useful if you're living with a smoker or have extremely limited space for your console. Everything else on the list might benefit the casual only though. Especially those wireless chargers and batteries. Cheers.
The filters are not good. I've had my x since launch. No issues. Added the filters because of some big dust bunnies that got harder to clean.. After 2 days the fan became very loud on every game. I removed the top filter and it seems to be better. But the filters definitely reduce airflow. So be careful!
JUST WOW! Are we forgetting the XBOX 360 days? When the external cooling fans were responsible for killing consoles? I think anyone who is recommending these things should NOT be considered a tech guy! Plus to promote putting dust filters on the exhaust side of the cooling system? I THINK NOT! I have both the series X and a $5,000 gaming PC that I would NOT think about doing this! As this would TRAP what ever dust that does make it into the system and it would also hinder the exhaust as well! Not allowing for proper airflow! Not to mention the filters on the intake side would restrict some of the air coming in so therefore you would most definitely NOT want to restrict the air leaving the console! And besides. What about the intake holes on the bottom around the built in stand? Makes no sense to put filters everywhere else and leave those unfiltered. But I guess if you're gonna put that charging base station under the Series X it does really matter as I don't see a way for air to get to the bottom of the console anyway. Bottom line guys, buy at your own risk and if your Console dies, I hope you remember RU-vidrs like this guy and revisit their channels and give them hell for their sub par recommendations!
I could be wrong but wouldn't you want to leave the top unhindered with a dust cover? Its the exhaust so any dust the makes it through the bottom filters will will literally stay inside on the exhaust filter and eventually keep heat inside due to build-up.
@@CrustyMilk11If you're cleaning your xbox then you wouldnt need dust covers lol. if you have to clean it due to build up from the filter then its obviously not a good idea
i got the power a charger last week for my birthday, and it's sooooooooooooooo good. the batter percentage didn'T move a bit, and i played forza 5 for so long
1 looks really cool because it gonna be alot easier to type because I use the d-pad to type which might ruin my controller because I had a Xbox one controller but I stopped using it because the joysticks started drifting and I really like the new series controller
Dude, thanks for making this video. I just ordered the dust filters and the stand. I think the stand is the best thing ever made, is a charging doc, headphones rest, and can keep the games on it.
Omg the dust covers trap the dust in and the stand doesn't cool properly and the charging bits crap, the stand will start giving you cooling errors even read the reviews on the products and the dust covers will let the dust in then trap it in and also prevent airflow
@@JackMoreland I did buy the dust covers and I added it on the intake at the back and intake at the bottome, I didn’t add anything on the outtake ass I didn’t want to trap any of the dust that comes in from the intakes. To be fare to me it didn’t seem to make any difference on airflow at all, but I can’t check it so I can’t say for sure. And I did order the stand aswell but I didn’t used it and sent it back when I saw loads of bad reviews about it on Amazon. The stand is definitely a bad idea, it uses the console power for everything, and using more power will make the Xbox get hotter, plus on the reviews I saw, people said the fan is worthless and it makes the console hotter then cooling it down because it blocks the airflow.
@@JackMoreland I’m probably gonna take them off aswell after I looked at all the comments in this video. Loads of people don’t agree with them, plus is really easy to open and clean the console, so I think I’m gonna stick with cleaning it instead. To open the new Xbox is way easier then the old one, it takes only 2 screws and you get acces to the heat sink where the dust can get trapped
@consumertechreviews Do you still use the charging and cooling hub? If so, how do you feel it has been working since you’ve posted this vid? I am think about getting one and I wanted to see if you could give a review of it. Thanks
Please don't. These "cooling" devices are proven trash and can actually cause problems. Go to gamers nexus and search for relevant videos on this topic. He's promoting it because he's getting paid to and if it screws up a console, he could care less.
You do you, but I personally would NEVER put anything on a console that could potentially effect air flow. Dust covers might sound good, but I would imagine that if it was an issue that needed to be dealt with, Microsoft would have included them on the console to begin with. We've come a long way since the 360 RRoD, they know what they're doing... the console was designed as one big fan. And now we're going to put screens and additional fans over the air intakes/exhaust? Sounds like a bad idea. ESPECIALLY on the massive exhaust port on the top of the console. Can't help but think back to the 360/PS3/Wii days when companies were putting out "fan stands" that were known to actually damage consoles. Don't mess with air flow. Also, I take a can of compressed air to my consoles every few months to blow out the dust. Takes 3 seconds and doesn't compromise the cooling system the console was designed for.
I can’t check it for sure, but to me it didn’t seem to make any difference in air flow, but I did add the dust covers on the intakes only, back and bottom, for the bottom one I cut the one that was supposed to be for the top and I added it at the bottom, I didn’t wanna cover the top in case some dust comes in and it traps on the exhaust dust cover.
I like the fact that your #5 that you press down and charging stops because lately I hardly play and don't want or feel safe that its constantly charging for battery life.
Just make sure that there's enough space for the consoles fan to blow out the hot air. Don't put the console in a cabinet or tight space otherwise it will just be recycling its air flow and will get hotter and hotter. It would be better to make sure the room the console is in is cool because an external fan will just be blowing room temperature air through it. It's to early to trust the dust covers just yet. Dust is bad, but restricting the airflow that much might cause to much stress on the system. Dust covers sound like a good idea, just don't know how safe it is.
The cooler stand is a waste from what we can see. Just a fan and not actual cooling? It draws more power off the console to try to cool it with just an extra fan? More power means more heat not to mention stealing from the internal components. It was already engineered to be able to cool itself! Don't waste your money! Keyboard is probably worth it though.
The fan is a waste but not for the reason you mentioned. It is useless as it is simply to small/slow By your logic that it draws more power every fan in every computer should be removed as it needs power to run
I NEEDED THIS, #5 is so good because im planing to buy from xbox design lab because it came back. I also have an old xbox one controller so this is a useful vid, thanks! Also #2, i need it for my xbox one controller so i can hide that crack...because i tried to lift the shell for hydro dipping even i didnt have the materials
These are excellent accessories! The charging dock is a must and those dust covers is where it's at especially for those who stand their Xbox up. Since dust is always floating and falling quess what happens when you turn off ya Xbox while it's standing. The fan turns off and dust is now falling into those large port holes. I wouldn't be surprised if people start to smell burnt dust as their Xbox heats up while playing.
Why on earth would u buy cooling to a closed box?? It’s literally the upside of a console, no maintenance or troubleshooting. Also, this generation is much cooler, not warmer. It’s one thing to have nonsense for ideas in your head, but creating a video and spreading the stupidity is borderline criminal.
The nice thing about rechargeable batteries is that when you're middle of a game you can quickly switch them out and not die... Also the dust cover seems like a good idea , my Xbox nearly got destroyed by an idiot who placed my wifi router on-top of my Xbox luckily Xbox will switch itself off when it gets too hot
Do you have one for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 pro and Xbox one x this is a good video amazing stuff. Especially the dust covers do they have them for ps5 Ps4 pro Xbox one?
This is a great video you’ve sold me on at least 2 of these products. Also I’m sure someone has said this in a previous comment but that shade of purple, Muave, it’s pronounced MAAV so like the u is silent and a makes the “ah” sound 👍🏾
For me the chatpad always made the controller feel like it was the perfect weight, Always game with mine attached , Whenever I play without it the controller feels too light
I have #3 the base. I love it. Its mad heavy and built nice. Up on the fence with the screen/filters because i heard they actually overheat the system.
I actually got the stand yesterday and didn’t see a reason for it since It’s in the living room and in a cooler area. I will keep the stand because of the built in chargers
Idk about you but I’ve had my series x since they came out and mine never gets hot it barely gets really warm so you just have bad luck with your console if it’s ever hot
Bro, check target everyday multiple multiple times a day on the app. More so around Wednesday-Sunday I’ve noticed they get trucks in around that time mostly. Also check before the stores open. Between 6am-8am between me and my wife I got two series X in a month ( for me and my son )and she got a PS5.
