@@HifiVega i know.... but made with much better quality... im still using 20+ year alpine jbl and kenwood amps, and they are ready for more 20 years... you rarely find amp repair videos of top brands i told... if you find, its 99% user error. these modern amps, are powerfull but cheaply made and unreliable ps: by the way, everyone can watch amp repair pros in youtube, and ear what they think about the quality of these kind of amps, and the quality of the amps i told
I have been in car stereo since 1992 when I build my first system in my 89 IROC Z28. I have been a loyal Rockford Fosgate person. I still have my Punch 200a4 and 301S from back then and use them every day. I recently added the Prime 1200-1D but I am running all SKAR Audio and DS-18 Speakers. The selection today leaves us old school guys kinda awestruck. So much good out there now in all price ranges and quality selections. I have always been a SQ guy and still build my systems for that main purpose. Just want you to know that you, Derek and Steve Meade are truly appreciated. Thank you for making it your work to show the good out there now!
My Rockford Fosgate 1200-1D is 1200 RMS @1 ohm and has a small footprint. It is also at home at 13.8 to 14.4 Volts. I have it driving my Skar EVL-10 in my pickup.
I liked the Down4Sound’s JP8 so much I ordered a second to strap/slave on future builds. You can’t beat all the extra’s thrown in a a great price like strap/slave feature, plexi bottom, built in fan, one of the best bass knobs out there, and even LOVE the old “USAmps” look and style to boot! They do what they say and a whole lot more is what keeps my attention!#JPamps##JP8#🔊❤️@RJSDZNS
I've got 2 of them. Pre-ordered and waited about 3 months to get them but was well worth the wait. Great amps. Have them on 4 Skar VXF 15s in a C pillar 6th order. 164 Ah of lithium powering them and it definitely gets down.
@@hopskustomaudio I checked your channel out and I only see two subs not for and another question why do you have the comments disabled? I've always wondered this when I seen people do this is it because of negative comments?
@@PeterFeltersnatch852 I haven't put anything from my new setup on there yet man. Always forget to do that. Ill see if I have anything on my phone that I can upload real quick. And had no idea anything about disabled comments. I'll check that out also
I got the CAB-22, puts out power, but im not sure yet on its sound quality. I'll know for sure when i get a better box than the s****y prefab im using. Im wondering if i'll upgrade to a dc audio or a rockford fosgate amp in the future.
@@jondoe6618 Ya I might have someone make me a box soon. He doesn't charge much and he's got a good reputation for building good boxes. In the future I'll try making my own.
I love this list.. Dude because YOU Are credible. Your lists are credible. Pickt up a MRMUSICMAN amp called Eye Candy 3800.1. There's a video of it on the dyno doin 4300 certified and like 5600ish dynamic crushing its original rated spec. $450.. Its Taiwanese..if it matters at all.. Tiffany outlets and no frills just a work horse of an amp.. Im putting two 12" T1's on it and we'll see...AIGHT player.. KUTGW
@@HifiVega 👉 right on.. Yeah I just bought the amp for two T1 12's. It's a beast. The Ear Candy amps are from Taiwan nothing special. It is under $500 Rated 3800 watts @ 12 volts. the video that's out there of it on the dyno is quite impressive showing a certified rating of 4500 watts aprox. The caveat being it was tested on the dyno at like 14.8 volts for something crazy high however I talked to the owner of the company and he said that all amps are rated at 12 volts because that's what's most realistically going to be played in the car. Just search- dyno mrmusicman audiol
@@sdbling where did you buy the amp from? Website? I'm gonna check them out, I like finding new great deals on car audio gear! Especially when it's amps or subs.
@@bailey2517 I seen the dyno video and it did fall short. The speaker wire they used was to small. They say they changed the wire and it made a difference. You can see my comment mentioning this.
I've been kinda impressed by Wolfram car audio amps, by what I've seen. They also have a clear plexiglass backing to them. But, a little expensive as they start at $499 and go up from there. Otherwise, I'd say it's really hard to beat what Down 4 Sound has been putting out. Certainly real quality at a price that is reachable for most people.
@@kriptic22 y u say that? I ran them at .25 ohm and they still fine, tho now r ar 2 ohm strapped for 1 ohm final load, and my electric is pretty decent so... y u say this?
Good list cant believe Orion xtr2500.1dz didnt make it. I paid 398 for mine 2 years ago and its still working perfectly. My only complaints is the cheap plastic bass knob and the lack of dual inputs.
My xtr 2500.1 didn't even last a month. Had it on 2 zvx 18's after 2 weeks it intermittently lost power and had feedback. Put a skar sk 3500.1 with no issues
@@pyrodave6407 da audio just gave me the run around to repair it which I still need to do because I still have a complete orion system to install in something.
I just got a new Crescendo Symphony S1 plus for 499.00. Hope it is worthy but I haven't heard much about them. They are too new for a lot of experienced reviews and comments and I am not surprised it didn't make the list...but not because it isn't good enough. I wanted to do something different than everyone else. Was just going to get the regular S1 but I talked myself into needing more. You know how it is... The owner of Crescendo told me that the S1 plus is very underrated and actually does 3200w rms @1ohm instead of the rated 2500. I am going to run a single Skar VXF 15" dual 4 @2ohm first....owner told me it does 2000w@ 2ohm so that should be good....but if I need more I will get another 15" Vxf dual 4 and run them @1ohm on the full 3200w. Great list...we need more stuff like this.
Haven't heard much about the crescendo s1 Plus either I was hoping it made the list lol. But when I purchased the amplifier I didn't have any attention for looking for maximum power I wanted a good quality amp with very good sound that's why I went with crescendo I had other options but I was sold on the s1 Plus 🤞🏿
@@rmcarter79 yep you and me both. I too was looking for quality over max power....like a Taramps or something. I am hoping that the VXF On 2k watts at 2 ohms is going to be a sound quality gem.
I think you will be okay I don't have any complaints about the way the s1 plus sound. I have way more power than necessary for my one VXF 12 especially at one ohm. But she sound real good though 👍🏿
@@snauspockets9924 hey man, what are your thoughts on the vxf 15? I'm planning on getting one soon once I get a better vehicle (hatchback) and I can't feem to get a steady conclusion on how many watts RMS it can take. Some people say 2000, some 2500, some people have even said to get an 8,000 watt amp... So I'm wondering is 2000 enough or can it take more?
I am glad the JP23 made the list. I have done extensive testing, single and strapped and it is well worth a buy. It may be just me but I think I have pulled out some impressive numbers with this amp. Also, one that is not on the list is the Crescendo S1v2. 1500 at 12v and 1650 at 13.8v Last listing was 269$ on D4S Solid list for sure.
I just got a new Crescendo Symphony S1 plus...it is 499.00 but I was talking with the owner and he told me it is one of their most underrated amps actually doing 3200w @1ohm, 2000w@2ohm. I am just finishing up my 1/0 sky high wiring before I connect it. I have high expectations. It should be better than the Skar Skv2 1500.1d it is replacing.
Ds -18 Has the new line of 5k Amos. Don't remember name but there red blue n silver. Full range also make their power and come with adapter to run double power b ground wires in the box for 350.00
I was lucky to get the Wolfram C-2400 at $250 before they discontinued them. I understand the O-2400 is full range. Are you guys still using them as sub amps?
Today I bought a Stetsom Vulcan 8K for $530 inc goods and services tax and postage to Australia. I really wanted a Powerus 8K, but I can't find them anywhere. Oh well, I think the Vulcan was a steal
I hear alot about this amp! Must be a “Beast”! Currently using (2) JP8 slaved and Very pleased! Ordered one and D4S sent (2) for $179 sale!!!!!#Lol#D4S”BEST”ever!#🔊❤️@williammallen7882
Mine slamms very nicely on a pair of heavy tens in 4.0@32htz. All of the CT Sounds amplifiers are Strapable as well. even the little 400.1d. i have 2-2ks and the 150.4 is excellent also. The Eq is hard to beat for the $
Seems the sfb line of amps are getting a lot of hate & people claiming they are giving a bunch of issues. Idk I have an sfb5000, wanted to get the sia but they didn't have a 5k. Will say I have enjoyed my Taramps Smart3 for nearly a year now, which seems to be similar to the Sundown sia3500
@@1ohmwrecker crazy how the Bully amps mysteriously went way up in price... They were dirt cheap prior to Big D doing the amp dyno vid on them, then they were out of stock for a good minute. We've talked before, I have a Smart3 too. Currently waiting to find a Smart5 or Smart5 BASS on sale for great price like I did my Smart3. I have a Sundown sfb5000 but I'd really like to replace it with a Smart5. Or even trade it for a Smart5 if I could get that lucky 😆 I did luck up a lil while back & get a phenomenal deal on some Audio Legion amps, I've never seen Korean monoblock amps so cheap. First time I've ever lucked up like that!
Thought I was going modest with the JP8. I see they pulled a little sneaky on me. At 4ohm 14.4v, I have plenty power for my 2 12's. And room to grow into 1ohm if I wanted.
Last year when the Wolfram O series amps came out I bought the 5000 watt one for 286 dollars. That includes tax and shipping. It Dyno at 5700 watts at one ohm and 3400 watts at two ohm so how can that possibly ever be beat?
The bully performance audio 3k and 5k for 250 and 350 shipped u cant beat the price they dyno the 3k and hit its rating I bought the 5k that just came out but haven't found anyone that has dyno it yet
I use JP8’s linked but really like the DC 1.2k you mentioned. Just don’t know much about it. I’m a old school 89’/90’ starter when “the Punch” Rockford Fosgate and Kicker were dominate. I really miss the old HiFonics amps (by Zed Audio) back then. Without these guys we wouldn’t know where to start now so much competition! Thanks to “You” and Big D Wiz!#🔊❤️
All those amps are nice but I’m going to get me a taramp 5k or 8k and beat threw the hood don’t wanna here nothing about it because I currently have the 8k for the last 3 years but I’m am going to try dd audio!
I'm kinda new this car audio stuff. I got my uncle's 97 2 door Tahoe mint I took it over because legally he can't drive anymore due to severe Dementia. My brother have 2 15 Kicker L7's dual 2ohm he told me I can have that's been in the basement since 2012. My neighbor said he's doing a overhaul on his truck and selling a DC audio 3.5k would those be good for those 15's? I was told something about the "Big 3" my Tahoe has a Red top Optima battery and a Mechman Alternator (never heard of it)
You’ll definitely want a big 3 and also an extra battery or 2 with that big of an amp. You’ll also wanna take it easy on those subs as that will be more power than they’re rated for. That being said if you want more info about the big 3 upgrade you can go to www.hifivega.com
Some of those amps are great, but some of them have undersized power and ground terminals, poor thermal management and a lot of them don’t even have a true pre amp.
@@HifiVega which amp are u mean poor thermal management ? everyday i see on a sundown group, top issue question is "why my amp go into protect mode. sfb series" 😑 maybe sfb and sia series share a same circuit 🤔
mareze moore you're right the Synergy amps are powerhouses! When you think about it though amps are similar to subs, their are so many legitimate amps these days. Lots of car audio brands making great products for the consumers. Of course many of the amps & subs are identical or close to it... Same product, coming from the same build house (manufacturer) just with different brand names & logos on them. Of course I'm all for it, long as it keeps the prices both affordable & competitive for bassheads & audiophiles!
@PercyMack74 an absolute workhorse, all of the Synergy amps are! I've yet to see a car audio build with Synergy subwoofers & that to me is an absolute shocker... Thinking I might just have to buy Synergy subs myself in order to hear some & see them in action.
WOW... power per Watt and Taramps Amps are not anywhere on this list? Not able too get a Affiliate link? doesn't add up. You do a disservice too your Credibility.
It’s a top 5 not a top 10 otherwise it would have made the cut on top of that I can certainly get affiliate links on Taramps products and have done so in the past, so if you could step down from your high horse for a minute and join the rest of us we’d love to have you be part of a productive car audio community.
@@HifiVega Step... Down? IJS i went too Slam as well as a few different shows this year and last. Price per watt even taken into consideration as well as what's being used. Taramps Amps are everywhere. I just find it odd that the amp seemingly used more then most on your list that cost less them the amps on your list were excluded. Where new amps that are not currently in use and cost more are set way higher. But its your list it just to me personally seemed Odd so i asked.
@@edwardautrey3671 unfortunately I did not have a good experience from my RP2k... Idk, I'm thinking I must've got a dud or something. Sent mine back after 2 weeks of use & Skar refunded my full purchase price. Thinking if I buy a Skar amp in the future it will only be from their SKv2 line since they are Korean. I will say that every Skar sub that I have bought so far have been great, from the Evl 12" subs all the way to the Zvx15 & Zvx18 subs. Wanna see a replacement for the DNR15 sub soon!! I've been waiting way too long!
@@HifiVega I got my sfb5000 from D4S a few months back when they were having a Sundown Audio sale. The sfb5000 was $379 on sale, I thought it was too good of a deal to pass up so I quickly ordered it. Been seeing a lot of ppl say they're having problems with their sfb amps lately. One amp I'm hoping to catch on sale or for a great deal is the Taramps Smart5 or Smart5 BASS, soon as I catch either one heavily discounted I'm buying! I've been running a Smart3 on a single 18" sub @1 ohm for going on a year now & the Smart3 has been very good to me so far. Bought the Taramps Smart3 for $275 not long after it first came out.
