Michael Maya if you are referring to the cable to connect them together, there is a benefit to this. Mine have developed shorts in multiple pairs, not beats, Sony and some other major brands I can’t think of at the moment.
The strap is a great idea for running! I just ordered my first Apple earpods, and I'm very nervous about losing one of them when I go for my morning run. 😄
