Awesome Video, I got RSNAV for My Audi A4 B8 a few months ago and I love it!, I think IGO is a cooler interface as it shows the motorway signs etc and 3D buildings, however Google Maps gets the job done quickly! I'm currently trying to see if its possible to install a K.I.T.T Knightrider Module but proving difficult to find :/ Know of any ideas mate? Also Check out my Content!
Google maps on an android head unit is horrible for one giant glaring reason, the offline map selection is four times wider than it is from top to bottom and there's no way to change it. If you need a north to south route, it's not possible beyond a very short distance. Horrible oversight by google and they will not address this issue.
Just installed Car Launcher Pro. Holy shit the stock launcher was slow compared. I thought the unit was slow and it was the launcher that just slowed everything down. Best 3 dollars I have spent in a while
Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I'm going out right now to try it on my JVC kw m730BT. I used the iDatalink Maestro with it where as I gained the performance pages, engine codes, climate controls and all that fun stuff all integrated on the screen. Super kick ass. Waiting on getting the K40 radar jammer that is also integrated. Anxious to see how that goes.
I'm having trouble getting Netflix, direct TV, etc to play on my unit. I've downloaded chrome, and Firefox, changed settings back and forth from mobile to desktop, tried to download adobe flash player, etc. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this issue. Have you heard of these issues, is so can you help?
hy john! i really like your youtube videos, really professional and clear. i have an alfa romeo 159 and i would like to change my head unit witch is a boring parrot asteroid smart (2 din) i saw the dasaita head unit the 10.2 inch with pivot display. do you think i t will fit good in my car? do i need a new front plate or can i just take mi old one build on my parrot? thnak you and keep going man!!!
how do you find the call sound quality on these head units? I understand they use the default mic on the unit rather than the cars installed one......and the head unit mic is not great quality for the listener. Can you please let me know how you find it?
I was looking for an alternative to listen radio because my radio antenna is not very good. I found an awesome app called 'Radio Transistor' (it's free). It allows us to add any radio channel we want and the cool thing is that we can navigate through the radio channels using the buttons on the steering wheel.
Top tip. You will not need a Dab+ aerial if you are streaming from a mobile. It could save you £30 I managed to buy a Unit with Blue tooth and GPS for £60 sent from china. It works great in a 20 year old jimny. I run facebook and youtube off it.
I really liked this video, I can't wait to get my Android unit. I ended up going with the Joying. Another thing is the Waze app for navigation, been using it and it's awesome. I also love having Torque. Especially going to the track and having the engine vital displays. John do you live in Nor Cal?
That Google Now demo was awesome. If you're on the road or away from WiFi, will it use data from your phone or will you not be able to do that unless you're in WiFi?
Awesome video dude... Maybe a bit of a NOOB quesiton - but in order for you to use Spotify & Google Maps, you obviously have to be connected (unless you can download stuff Offline which you showed), but my question is - how do you connect to the internet? is this through your Phone? Via USB, or Bluetooth, or Wifi? Or does it have it's own Simcard?
Hi! Do you need a data plan or something in order to use apps like spotify or google maps? Do you need a wifi hotspot in order to use those features? Appreciate your help!
Theoretically I could download the google maps for my area while sitting in my garage on my home wifi and then never have to download it again, correct? What if I wanted to download multiple areas? Is that possible?
is anybody else having trouble playing netflix on Android 5.1, it loads up my netflix home page but when i push play on a video i get a error 0113 something like that anybody that can help thanks
those 5 apps i never use , but Android 7.1.2 Ga2168 Eonon 10.1" and SWC interface ,, and for good quality sound i use the DAB+ :) heng on dab+ is coming over there soon as well i guess
In order to use spotify do you need a sim card for the head unit? I'm trying to find a radio and I really only use spotify at this point so this would really be exactly what I want, just trying to figure out the data while driving part of it
Hello. I also have Viper for Android installed. But some features are missing like Viper bass, I think it's because the app thinks that it is using the phone speaker. Do you have that issue?
if your vw supports double din, check this one out www.amazon.com/upgradeable-Android-Receiver-Bluetooth-Navigation/dp/B01M9ESZZA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1500238432&sr=8-2&keywords=joying+double+din+head+unit+vw&linkCode=ll1&tag=8324894-20&linkId=736200ad1e9e9a6f7a663151ea918ddf
Wish it was stable for me. I bought the Car Launcher Pro for my Android 5.1 head unit and it hangs on startup about 40% of the time, requiring a hard reset to get it to load successfully. I switched to Nova Prime and zero load issues in over a month.
that ridiculous, yeah my friend has the same issue with his mustang. the canbus crashes on his. i guess it either works or it doesn't. He tried everything
What unit can you recommend that I keep the urinal functionality of my car (subaru forester 2017 turbo). I mean all the voice commands functions, the original camera works and all the buttons on the thymus steering wheel
Hi How hard is it to install viper4 android on it ? Also i have c500+ and i cant pair gamepad controller via bluetooth do you know how its can be done ?
you can buy a bluetooth OBD from amazon or ebay for 10bucks. and you can hook that to your android head unit using the torque app via bluetooth. it will show some meters, temps and so on. its pretty cool to monitor even your air and fuel mixtute.
Can you get Spotify to sync offline to the device whilst connected to your home WiFi? My plan is to sync the discover weekly to the internal memory whilst parked in my garage each night.
That's sooooo cool! Can you do the discover weekly specifically? I've got a 2003 STi and I'm in the UK. Can this model be installed in this model do you know?
Hi John, I see in your video that you live in Antelope as I do (Watt x Elverta also. I'm looking for the appropriate Android Head unit for my 2007 Dodge Durango. Do you have any suggestions for the best brand unit with the most features.
Hey Neighbor! Yeah, i would check out these ones www.seicane.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=durango&acc=45c48cce2e2d7fbdea1afc51c7c6ad26 See if the shape is similar to the one you got robert.

hey I bought the 5.1 version from the aliexpress link you provided, you do find the screen quality lacking on the passenger side? on mine, the picture is great from the drivers side and center, but if you sit on the passenger seat, the picture quality is horrible.
You said you had root your unit to use the launcher. Any specifics to the rooting process? I have a VW and it’s looking like joying has the best unit for my car (android 8, octacore, 32gb rom, 2 or 4gb ram). Any advice for rooting/customization?
hi. I have android radio in my bmw e38. I have car launcher installed now and I don't have "radio" and "music" like You. Can You tell me how I can get it? In standard launcher I have it, but it's included I think
how about normal head unit controls like fade / balance amp gain for lows mids highs. is there an app for that or how do you access this stuff from this head unit?
