Nice video! Make the decision to choose top5 assist in this game is a hard discusion...BUT, i have 2 suggestions for you! 1- Can you make a top 5 mid/high tier characters that have the most bad match up's? Or just make a list with the characters that have a hard time in this game! 2- Make a top 5 hardest characters to learn/master! Keep going with your hard work!
This list is very misleading and shows a lack of understanding of the game. If you pay attention to the game, assists like Jam Session and Dark Harminizor should be placed way higher as theyre highly useful with little drawbacks. You also didnt have a single beam assist which even one (namely plasma beam) could do what assists like Senpu Bu or Drones do but way more effectively as theyre much safer. Gold Armor takes more unscaled damage and Drones are harder to keep safe let alone call out ahead of time. The inclusion of Missiles should invalidate Drones off this list as is. Lariat is extremely overrated as you can low profile it or bait it out altogether and take away its effectiveness. You just see people get hit by it because of human error/incomings. That doesnt mean its a top 5 assist. Some that would be way more deserving are Bolts, Vajra, Log Tap even Mystic Ray as they cover way more space and options (my pick would be Doom Rocks or Bolts). Jam can even be used defensively making it an overall way more versatile assist. Thats what this list seems to misunderstand is the verastility of assists. 3/5 of the ones you listed have glaring weaknesses and are generally more niche. Sure Drones is pretty good for most character's but you get the same effect and more with a Beam you can call way more safely and way faster. It kinda feels like this was made in 2012 and you forgot to upload it almost 12 years later. I say this because I'm sure you attract new ppl/casual ppl and I feel like this type of video would spread misinformation. Btw I saw you respond to Monix and the fact you called Distruptor "terrible" kinda proves my point. If youre gonna cop out with the whole "everyones got opinions" spiel just remember there are such a thing as misinformed opinions and i would really hope you can educate yourself more by talking to the part of the community that actually plays the game at a high level.
Saying that my list is misleading and that I lack knowledge is quite rude... You defende Dark Harmonizer should be here... All it does is give you meter... That's it... Sure it's crucial for Phoenix players or very beneficial for Vergil swords, but the assists I mensioned offer help to extend combos, mix ups, defense, agression... Most of the 50 characters will benefit a lot more from any of those other then Dark Harmonizer... Not to mention that you didn't brought up the meter building assist of Ammy or Frank, just the Morrigan one, which shows that you're focusing on Top Tiers rather than the assist itself... If you're only used to fighting the Pros and their Top Tier teams good for you, but remember that the game has 50 characters and people enjoy playing the game as whole, not just the Top Tiers to try and win a Tourney... You defend beams over Drones, and I understand beams have the advantage of hitting sooner and leaving earlier, but saying and I quote "but you get the same effect and more with a Beam" shows that you're the one who either lacks knowledge or is just beeing parcial to defend your argument... I literally demonstrated in the video that you can throw or side switch people IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ASSIST! And you say that I can get the same effect with a beam? With bolts maybe, because it's 2 separate beams, but even then the time window for me to get out after blocking the first beam is far bigger than the time window of each drone... But you mensioned Plasma beam, which holds you in permanent blockstun, not allowing you to get the throws or side switching... You also defend Disruptor, which offers very little to the player... Can't extend combos properly, doesn't keep opponent blocking for long, doesn't help you when you're beeing pressured, doesn't keep opponent in hitstun for long in case you wanna use it for a mix up or something... It's one of if not the worst beam in the game... Plasma beam, UniBeam, Bolts are great, but Disruptor doesn't offer nearly as much... Only positive is that it comes out fast... Of course you can disagree with me, and it's fine... But you try to discredit me by calling my content misleading and saying that I lack knowledge, while you are parcial in your analyses to make it look like my choices don't make sense... If you wanna defend your point and create a discussion, let's do that, but at least be fair when criticyzing and respect the other...
He wouldn't know because he is a casual player the truth hurts is all. If he was a actual competitive player he would clearly understand the game better on assists no point to argue with him lol. @EMP_Obama
Good question! In my list I still had Vajra, Cold Star and Log Trap as possible TOP 5s, but I'd have to think harder on a TOP 10... There are many great picks to choose from!
@OneHeroes yeah all those definitely belong. I guess I'd put Shopping Cart after them. Hidden Missiles and Drones definitely have a pretty clear hold on the top spots but after that it gets a whole lot harder to pin down. Man, Log Trap's existence in this game is an exceptional example of how insane Marvel 3 is. To be that ridiculously good and still not be the best assist in the game by a wide margin is just absurd.
Nice video with good explanations, interesting choices at #5 and #3...they are definitely very good, maybe top 10-15 but maybe not top 5 IMO. I think my Top 5 would be: 5. Strider - Vajra 4. Sentinel - Drones 3. Doom - Plasma Beam 2. Dante - Jam Session 1. Doom - Hidden Missiles And this list is just for general usefulness/quality. Certain characters obviously benefit from certain assists more than others, like Nova really likes having Spencer - Slant Shot for example. Honorable mentions probably within Top 10-20 are: Shuma - Ray Doom - Rocks Haggar - Lariat Ammy - Cold Star Morrigan - Meter gain Rocket - Log Dr. Strange - Eye of Agamotto Akuma - Tatsu And most of the good beams/multi-projectiles like MODOK, Iron Man, Strange, Hawkeye, Taskmaster etc
All of Modoks are good like doom Morrigans meter build is crazy good You forgot Dante Weasel which is extremely good and a very over looked Chris has two good assist! The bomb and his machine gun and remember jeans fire ball extremely good! Also Trish peak a boo is ridiculous with her projectile Also raccoons projectile is like mini drones are is almost as good as log in some ways Bomb and Dorito is ridiculous when setup or used for a purpose like doom having good multiple assist
@@JNAMOTORSPORTS True that, those are also all good assists that could maybe be top 15-20. Dante Weasel Shot and Chris Gunfire I didn't name but I sort of lump them in with the rest of the good beams and multi-projectile "pseudo-beams" like Hawkeye and Taskmaster, they all have slight differences though. Like Weasel Shot doesn't go full screen but he does a nice hop backwards, it's just happens to be totally overshadowed by the insane Jam Session. Truthfully there are a good number of quality assists that are overshadowed by similar but slightly better versions (like Doom/Ironman Beam vs most projectile assists) or by similar assists on better characters (like Doom w/Beam vs. Ironman w/Beam)
Trying to guess the 5 before watching: Jam Session Lariat Sentinel force These are no brainers. The other two could be Rapid slash Hidden missiles Cold star Log trap Tatsu Zanku Kyaku Doom Beam Now let me see how many I got right
All 3 of sents assists is good in different ways but drones often over shadow them he has the biggest otg in the game and can stuff things and his other drones goes through everything but people get so much mileage from drones Also eye of agamoto is amazing for mix ups and projection/ positioning/ controlling space
I get your content is tailored to hyper casuals and net play enthusiasts (yuck) but come on? Missles at 1 is fine. Drones at 2 is a fucking joke. Senpu Bu at 3 requires a meter investment off rip and is attached to the single worst character that after gold armor is out, is a non factor. Jam at 4 is fine. Lariat at 5 is questionable. Astral is a top 5 assist attached to the best character in the game and is virtually unpunishable by the cast (if you don't have a full screen beam AND recognize the call, she's giving that meter), Any pure beam is just better than drones out right (Iron Man, Strange, Doom; you can counter call drones with one of these beams and beat Drones outright) as well as some of the non pure beams (Gold Daggers but it also falls into the "great assist on a crap character category), and Senpu Bu is attached to the single worst character in the history of MvC so its not worth having that assist unless you're a character specialist, like PZPoy.
Was surprised that Shuma-gorath’s beam assist wasn’t listed, but with how vast of assists it’s understandable. The only one I disagree is Hsien-ko.(I do appreciate her getting some love though) setting up the install safely is resource heavy.
Yeah, having to activate the Golden Armor can be a problem, specially because the character herself is quite bad... But if you get a chance to do that, she can run over everything hahaha
hard disagree on #5 and #3 i'm surprised you didn't mention doom plasma beam and morrigan dark harmonizer. other beam assists like disruptor or unibeam are also worth mentioning
Beam assists are good, but there isn't one who is necessarilly better than the others and they are not really that broken compared to this ones (Disruptor is terrible in my opinion, Idk why people like it so much unless you want a fast option for a teleport cross or something, but all other beams give you that and much more) But again, everyone is entitled to one opinion...
good list. id rank jam session as #1 in terms of all round assist, its only notable drawback is damage scaling, but well worth the drawback for any character. beam style assists are useful across the board. unibeam is the best in isolation, but in terms of picking a character thats both good and easy i usually recommend plasma beam. disruptor has its place to support characters that are fast enough to confirm and prefer better damage scaling. then theres meter gain assists, dark harmonizer is the clear stand out for having good value and being attached to a powerful character. meter assists may not match many peoples play style but they are powerful because they can enable point characters to play zoning/keep away (you can get closer to a win condition by not getting hit, even if thats not the intended character design). i dont think this makes the game fun to watch/play but i consider it a very underrated play style.
I dont agree with 5 or 3 there are better assist then those especially 3. But 5 is solid but imo probably others may agree 5 isnt top 5 for sure same w 3.
Hahaha Yeah, the character is bad indeed... I'm only analysing the Assist and nothing more here, but if you look at the entire picture it can be not worth it
Also for hidden missiles if you're right next to your opponent after you hard knockdown him won't the missiles going up hit otg? I remember seeing it...
I mostly agree but I think akuma tatsu kick is criminally underrated as well as frank west shopping cart. Amy cold star, plasma beam, some others. I know everything can’t be top five tho
