One of my cats absolutely loves Da Bee or Da Ball. It's from the same people who made Da Bird. He'll go absolutely crazy over it. Of course, he IS a Russian Blue, so he's pretty hyper.
All of our cats go crazy over a helicoptering Jackson Galaxy feathered air wand. One of my cats (a Russian Blue mix) also really likes puzzle toys, hair ties, and this one loud electric toy where a feathered bauble goes in and out of it at random. My Maine Coon mix primarily enjoys batting around squeaking mouse toys alone. My sister's Tabby cat loves tinsel balls.
My Siamese only plays when I am trying to make the bed. Then she leaps up and prevents me from doing anything. She swipes me and attacks my hands, drawing blood. And if I insulted her with a cat toy, she would make sure to hiss at it, and hide the receipt so I cannot take it back for a refund. Love your channel, tho.
We have a toy box for our kitties and they go in it and pick out the toys they want to play with. One of our kitties plays with toilet paper rolls and hard balls with the bells inside and the other kitty likes the soft toys he can pick up in his mouth...run with it and toss it in the air and catch it. He likes playing by himself! LOL

@@Catlandian Disinfecting toys is easy. I've got arthritis and only a camera phone and my husband video tapes while I play with the cats so again, not hard. My point, however, is why review and then "share" the worst examples when we need to know which are good to great. In any case, I'm not looking for toys my cat isn't likely to play with based on other cat-human experiences. I'm interested in ones that the human knew how to use well and got good responses. I have a few I could share, and heck, maybe when my husband's schedule and my own coincide with extra time, I'll do that, because the ones I'm using--and the "way" I'm using them, gets great results: Happy felines.
@@Catlandian I don't think so. I'm disabled and would have no problem giving toys to neighbors, family or friends. I have videos of my cats playing using just my phone's video capability--Motog6. I'm also an introvert and could still find people to try these for me, including friends willing to pay for postage if I needed them to do that. Most reviews are paid for, most youtube videos have sponsors.
Lol this video is a great representation of owning cats. You get a bunch of toys that everyone says is great and their cats love them. Only to find out your cat doesn't like any of them. Its all about learning your cats personality and getting toys that suit them. It took me forever to figure out what kind of toys my cats really love.
Care to list some of the things they like? I'm sorta in the same boat. I'm hundreds of bucks into toys and my cat couldn't care less about 99% of them.
I tried the feeder toy with my Siamese. She decided 'playing' meant football tackling it and all the food went flying. It was hilarious after I cleaned up the food.
Watching this video with my cat in my lap, when the "cat dancer" came on the screen, she jumped up onto the desk and tried to catch it. I think I know what toy I'm buying next.
I had two rescue cats (siblings) back in 2010 who stole my neon green earplugs so I started teaching them fetch-retrieve. One, the tuxedo, Gizmo loved to go chase and then return it to me for another round but his brother, Bugsy was jealous so he hoarded them by eating them. He didn't have any signs of pica, just the earplugs when his brother and he played, so I had to put him away while I played with Gizmo then play a different game with him afterward. xD
My cat Kevin loves the cat dancer! My mom got it for him and his sister Cece and I'll hear him out in the living room playing with it by himself! It's hilarious because he will take one end of it in his mouth and chase the other end in circles like a dog chasing its tail. Too funny!!!
I understand having a cat that doesn’t seem interested in toys or loses interest very quickly. It can be tricky finding the perfect toy for these types of cats, but I think it’s worth the investment to find that golden toy for them.
They just get bored after a few days. I even rotate them and hide the old toys and they still not interested. I’ve spent $1000s on toys and cat trees, sigh.
My kitties love to grab Q-tips, hair ties and blind cords. Every toy has been returned. Every cushy cat bed has been returned. Replenishing water fountain returned. However, the cat tower$ with $isal post$ they adore! 😄

Ping Pong balls! I bought a bag of 50, have about 20 left in the bag with only three balls in sight! The other 30 have been chased into hiding! Would love to see a video of your cats having fun and playing... my cats are 14 & 16 yrs old and still have frequent bursts of playfulness (in between naps) :D The Cat track tower and Catit track toys are also fun for them! I will say, my male orange tabby, is not interested in toys, but more interested in watching birds online or out the window, laying in the sun and snuggling.
Cats don’t like toys you buy for them. I’ve had cats for 50 years, so I have plenty of experience with what cats play with. Our most recent cat just loves empty toilet paper rolls, so yet another no cost cat toy favorite to add to my list.
Great combo. I let my two play with the laser when they're full of energy, then catch play/furry mice or The Cat Dancer, anything "solid" so they feel successful at being predators. :-)
In my experience, my cats have lost that "regular play" instinct when they're a little past being kittens. My newest cats is only 8 months and loves to play, but she's my first mostly indoor cat. I don't know if my previous cats being outside all the time already gave them enough stimulation 🤷🏻♀️ My newest cat loves nothing better than bottle tops - from soft drinks, water bottles etc. They slide over tiles nicely, she knocks them with her paw, chases them and picks them up with her mouth to take with her (very cute 🤭)
The best toy that my cats have always loved is --- you buy a pack of index cards, and then fold a card about 4 to 5 times, then toss and throw. My cats love it and play with them all the time. They're also large and stiff enough for them to not easily tear them apart or risk swallowing, so it's safe and inexpensive.

My cat is the same as yours, not all that interested in toys. He would play a little bit then get bored. If he's bored, imagine how I feel trying to entice him. I will try to find *that* toy. So I will check these out. Luckily, my cat is very food motivated and one of things I do doesn't involve toys at all. During treats time, I would toss the treat down the hall and he would bolt for it. (It helps to have hard floor where the treat would bounce away from the cat). He gets about 24 treats a day, so he would run about 24 times. He gets the exercise and this satisfies his hunting instinct.
I have the first toy for my cat however with open tracks. She loves it but her favorites are gift wrapping ribbons and her little mouse that is filled with catnip.
My cat LOVES the 3 tier orange ball track (#2). It is her favorite toy ever and she always goes back to it. She also loves feather teaser wands. She has a few stuffed animals that are her friends she plays with/ just brings with her everywhere. LOL, and also she loves any ball like item she can pounce on.
I have the petsafe ball for my cat who doesn't engage in play. I set it out during the day with a small bit of dry food and treats so he has to hunt for his snack when I'm not there! :)
My cat loves the cat dancer. I even bought a back up just in case that one got bent or something. He chases it around and bats at it. He also loves q-tips, hair ties and boxes. I have another toy on a string with a feather he also likes. When I play with him he loves it so much. He bats at the toys, then watches me spinning them around. He will hop in my lap and give me hugs, then starts playing again! He’s a sweet cat. He three years old now.
My cats love their bird ball. It rolls around with lights flashing with a little stick with feathers sticking out and makes bird noises. If it's not played with it will stop and save the battery. As soon as it's touched again it starts back up. The battery lasts a long time. Great toy for cats
We were painting a room and hung very thin plastic at each door. My cats absolutely loved shredding that plastic. I was a bit concerned that they could get wrapped up in it and suffocate so at while we are away or asleep, I take it down. So that is one thing they continue to play with and another is the shower curtain
My cat is toy-crazy! He loves any toys that resemble prey. He needs a mixture of challenge and reward to keep him entertained. I try to to make the prey very difficult to catch, then give him the chance to catch it after he's had a good workout. He loves Da Bird, Da Bee, Da Mouse etc and heaps of other wand toys in that genre. He loves small lightweight realistic toys that he can fish out of a puzzle box, swat around the floor, hide under the fridge, retrieve, hide again... His latest favourite is Cat Dancer, for the fast, half-predictable, half-random movement that imitates prey behaviour.
I've found that kittens play with everything, but the older a cat gets, the fussier they get about when & what to play with. All of my cats like to pounce on string. I've found craft string is good because it's wide enough for them to get their claws in or paws on, and smooth enough that you can pull it from them to start another chase & pounce. Younger cats will follow string dragged along carpet wherever you go. Older cats want you to make it more interesting by pulling the string under newspaper or sheets or around corners. Lazy cats want you to pull the string in front of them & pull it away so they can lie there only moving their paws. One of my cats LOVES to chase laser lights, others have shown no interest. All my cats have played with the Cat Dancer, interspersed with other toys. I've found some really good "fishing pole" toys with realistic bees, butterflies, spiders, centipedes& mice. Can't remember brands but I think one was called Da Bee. I watched your videos on feeders & toys. You're as thorough a tester & analyst as Consumer Reports magazine. Thumbs up!

Then I volunteered a couple of years at a Pet Smart with 10 usually full cages. Kitten season would come, & they'd play with every toy we had! Kittens leap up at strings, but most mature cats prefer their string on the ground. And I'm a sucker for trying to please my cats. One of my cats wasn't interested in string anymore, & he went wild when the string was under newspaper, loved to stalk where it was & make lots of crinkle sounds as he played. So my living room was covered in newspaper for a while, (before the internet...) For the love of cats...
Mostly older cats for the wand toys. My male will play with it himself. I will find it in the hallway or another room the next day from him carrying it around. Kittens like those balls in tracks. I always have one down in a kitten room at a shelter. Ping pong balls get stuck somewhere and stop being toys unlike the ones in a track.

He knows where each one is and has learned that if we open the drawers he has to retrieve them before we play. I bought a bunch of toys without breaking the bank but my cat's favorite toy is the one i didn't buy, it's just some paracord and yarn i knotted up and tied to some fishing line, she also absolutely adores the Cat Dancer which costs $2 (didn't hear you say the price in the video), try to mimic hiding prey if they don't have interest when it's right in front of their face.
That cat didn’t seem interested in any toy. I’ve been buying the Cat Dancer toy for my cats since I discovered it back in 1989. And every cat I’ve had LOVES it! Especially when it’s the wall mounted one! It’s the best inexpensive cat toy!
for my cat that is about 3 months now, i literally just pulled the rope out of my pants and just wiggle it around in front of her face, one of the best "cat toy" in my opinion
My cat's favourite toy is always a cardboard box 📦 Everytime a box comes into the house no matter what size she is straight into it and spends the next few days sleeping and playing there until she gets bored lol She always likes to chase the dogs tails lol
You could improve your review, by taking the toys to a shelter and allowing the cats to interact with the toys. Since I used to work in one, I found that the 3 tier tower didn't stay upright on many occasions.
Pro tip for the roller circuit: Put all the low and high parts of the circuit together, not alternating but all the low parts next to each other and the same with the high ones. That way the ball rolls further and is more interesting for the cats. Works for ours at least.
My cats favorite toy is one of those string wiggle worms with a bell on it. Especially in orange and pink. He will come running from the other room if he hears the bell. Theres another one, a toy mouse on a spring thats SUPPOSED to stick to a wall but it doesnt. He would come running for that as well.
my cat gets bored really easily with toys. But i do know he loves simple things. I had the cat dancer, he loved it but eventually loses interest. However, if you DIY , add a little ribbon on the end, he gets extremely excited again. Many of times, i find myself DIYing and upgrading simple toys .
My kitten loves the first toy (senses track toy) although I replaced the heavy light up ball with a plain ping pong ball! I also took off one the blue covers on one of the low pieces so my kitten can grab the ball if he wants to. He loves it!
I’ve excitedly bought my cats several different interactive cat toys, I’ve sprayed them with catnip spray to attract them to these toys but still Dark Matter prefers to play with her favorite paper shopping bag, she seems to prefer Zara shopping bags to those of any other store, I’m not even kidding, she ignores all others! Omega on the other hand prefers her boxes so I’ve constructed a cat maze from several cardboard boxes and she can run into the maze from one end and exit from the far end! So I’ve decided that I won’t buy them anymore toys, unless of course they look fun enough for me to play with because honestly I get more play out of them than either of them. 🤷🏻♂️

Lol... your cats sound like my cats! I have one cat that loves the orange stacked ball thing. I got the other track type ball thing and it's bigger, my cats like it but limitedly. Same with the nano cat toy. I also have the balls for treat time. Heres the thing cat owners need to know. Get toss it toys, at least 5-10 different kinds. Pick 3-4 of those and set in a container, do this for 3-4 more different container. I have 4 containers each with a different set of cheap toss it toys (mice, balls, curly, crackle, birds that tweet, etc). Rotate weekly. Same with interactive toys. Change them. In other words, put them away for at least 2-3 weeks... so when they come back out they are "new". So in the end I have 5 or so different interactive toys, tubes etc. They see each once a month. Each container of toss toys rotate with interactive toys, I can switch it up when I want. Cats get bored. Period. Like toddlers... they play for a few and need something more. As far as toys you play with them with... the helicopter wand toy... let me tell you... there's not a cat on the planet that won't tear these to shreds in minutes! They are by far the best, we reinforce glue at the ball base where feathers connect to ball before we use it. It helps them last longer... barely. I have 6 cats so finding play and hunt interaction time is so important. One of my cats favorite toys? that plastic ring seal on 1/2 gallon milk cartons! She loves them. Two of my boys will actually fetch and bring back the 1/2 inch nerf balls (they have to be orange) for those nerf ball guns for kids. One of my cats loves those spring toys... they look like stretched out mini slinkies, another cat loves the things like Chinese finger trap material but shaped in pretzel with feathers attached in middle. Balls with feathers, the cheap furry mice, and fuzzy balls, sometimes crinkle balls. If you have a kitten... anything will do... but adult cats catch on quick. They want your attention, they figure out fast that the toss it toys are meant to entertain them without you. The interactive toy that never fails?.... the spin toy with a fabric cover over the wand so it looks like the toy is barely visible around the edge of the fabric but it also makes the fabric move when it's spinning. Can't remember the name of mine... they have three speeds and automatically shut off when it hasn't been touched after 10 minutes. Yes, I go through lots of batteries for this guys but let me tell you... your cats will like it more than all these toys here. But bottom line, you have to get those wand toys and play with your cats... they need it. My cats like hide and go seek, chasing us around the house. If you want a dog, get a dog. If you want a cat... learn how to play and pay attention to what they like. Rotate their toys to keep them interested. Face it, cats are more high maintenence than dogs. But twice as fun...ok dogs are fun too but if you love cats you know what I mean. Keep trying new things, you'll hit the jackpot with something, but then don't make the mistake of leaving it out all the time. They will lose interest if you do. Great review, but hardly done to the degree "all about cats" should be. No offense to you truly. You just seem to come across like a rather new cat owner at times. Too many people get cats hoping they'll become their live stuffed animal aka lap cat. It's sad, cats are not happy if all they do is sleep/eat and look pretty. You may be...but I promise they are not. Cats need stimulation, they are very smart. It really doesn't take much to entertain them... feed birds outside a window. When a box comes in the mail, let them play in it after you take the product out. Swing those wand toys like they are birds or move them on the floor like they are real bugs. Think like a cat... you'll have very happy cats. The only reason people don't get bored with their cell phones is because they can do so many different things. But if all you can do is talk on it... you wouldn't carry it around all day. You wouldn't need longer battery life or bigger screens. Just like us, animals get bored. If all you got was a mouse to play with and pet time... you'd get depressed and sleep and eat... that's it. Cats need raw food too, but that another subject. Make play interesting, they'll play.
omg you're cats crack me up...they are so not interested...couldn't be bothered! my cat loves the Butterfly Chase from Petstages although my cat rips the butterfly apart pretty quickly so i buy alot of them..but she loves that damn toy!
shes a lady already, i make toys myself and my old lady cat didnt use to play and i felt bad that my toys werent appealing. but now 3 kittens have adopted me and they looove all toys. cats have a lot of personallity too 🥰
Mallory, you missed the simplest, cheapest cat toy ever. On Amazon a set of colorful plastic springs that our cat will bat all over the house and will chase up the stairs, and down again. They roll, they bounce, they tumble. Sometimes she will actually pick one up in her mouth and bring it to you for throwing, then she gallops after it.
It'd be awesome if you did a review on best toys for blind cats. There isn't much on the market that caters to them, and my precious seems bored. Advice please!

Another informative review/educational video, thank you! I help run a kitten rescue and consequently I foster kittens. Two paws up on the Tower of Tracks and the Catit Senses Super Roller Circuit toy. They're disinfectable which is imperative when you foster kittens. The Cat Dancer, I attached it to the top of my big scratching post in my living room, so it's kind of a self service toy and fosters and one of my cats likes it. The paper things get destroyed so I've modified it to be able to accept attachments like the wiggle worm or a bunch of feathers that would normally go on wand toy.
My first cat Pixie quite liked a feather on a string and chased a ball of foil quite happily but totally ignored a laser light whilst my new cat Arian ignores a feather on a string but loves a laser light.

I just got the cat dancer for my cat who's usually blase' about toys and he actually is into it. It's like he doesn't think of it as a toy, but some nemesis that he's quite focused on. Once I put it away, he would go look for it and meows for minutes. It's quite cute.
I'm so glad to see that my cat isn't the only one that doesn't seem interested in toys. It's like she thinks she's too grown up for that stuff. And yet, the cardboard box never fails. I just fill it with paper and catnip and she's pretty happy. She lie in it. My other cat on the other hand loves to play with toys, but has gotten bored with what she has already, so here I am looking for new ideas on youtube. And i think the hexbug nano would be a great hit with her as well as that ball with the treats inside. So, thanks for the video. And don't worry too much if your cats were not interested. This video was helpful to me to know that mine wasn't the only one. I thought maybe i was doing something wrong as a cat mom. Good to know it is common.

My cat's favorite toy is an old sock with catnip in it. She has a basket full of toys and she choses what she likes and plays with different things she prefers small furry toys that she can bring to me she likes to play fetch she brings the toy back so that I can throw it back. Also a plastic stick with an elastic and a furry ball attached to it we play with that every morning and she never get tired of it. She never liked any of the toys that you displayed I tried them all. She likes to play with me not so much on her own.
Your cat's reactions are like my elderly cat's- she won't play with it unless it's alive. I got her a birdfeeder and a bell collar. She stalks birds and gets exercise, but has only ever caught 1.

I got a couple of these. The 3 ball tier thing all 3 went bananas for about 2 days. They want to pursue. Once they realize they will never get it, they get bored. They like a laser, but need variety.
I bought the first toy from a different brand and could make all sorts of shapes from circle to snake. I found my cats enjoyed interacting better without the blue covers on and I replaced balls with just cheap jingle balls. They liked flicking the balls around the track and off the track to chase around room.
my cats favorite toy is my daughter's hair ties for pony tales. (much to my daughter's irritation). They also like to bat at my spider plant plantlets.
One toy that I never thought would I be such a hit is dog stuffies. Like those stuffed animals meant for dogs dor them to chew on. Each of my cats has their own and they’re really great for when they get in those zoomy moods where they want to fight and attack something. They’ll each play with their own biting and bear trapping them. Good way to get that energy out 😊
