TOP 5 BEST DIOR AND GUERLAIN FRAGRANCES FOR MEN - COLOGNE SHOWDOWN - GUERLAIN VS DIOR! 

Hope you've had an excellent weekend Dan, Guerlain is pure quality with heritage and class, Guerlain Vetiver is one of several I own, it's a rare 200ml bottle, apparently it's discontinued now.

I'd put L'Instant, Heritage and Vetiver as my top Guerlain's, though Habit Rouge and Homme would be close behind. I'd say bin this concept and instead do videos on a single house at a time. Do one video on your best Guerlain's, one on best Dior's etc

Guerlain is definitely niche for me. I think the price didn't do it justice, one of the rare examples nowadays of buying quality and not needing to pay a lot. They have everything you could want. Easily can build an entire collection from Guerlain and you'll have no 'misses' so to speak. Next should be YSL. I'd have liked Versace but if I'm honest with myself the brands mentioned so far are way better than Versace. This coming from a guy who has a extensive Versace collection.

I own a gazillion Diors and love them all, but if I did a combined top 5 of Dior/Guerlain it would be all Guerlain lol. Hands down my fav perfume house. My top 5 Guerlain: 1. Vetiver 2. Heritage (edt) 3. Homme 4. L'Instant (edt) 5. Habit Rouge (edt)

I really didn’t care for habit rouge when I got it but it’s grown on me. Still love a lot of other offerings before HR

I had a sample of Habit Rouge EDT which became yesterday's SOTD. My wife now thinks I should get a bottle. Clearly there's a reason this has been around for a while. Also a fan of Eau Sauvage Parfum (2017). It's a regular part of my rotation.

I haven't tried Eau de Guerlain, but your other two were great. I would've chosen L'Instant de Guerlain EDP, Habit Rouge EDT and Heritage EDT. I'd also choose Guerlain > Dior.

Guerlain is unique enough not to need pigeon holing into deisigner or niche. Building diverse fragrances with rhe guerlinade thread still linking them is just superb. Currently have Habit Rouge EDP, Vetiver and L'Homme Ideal EDP. Adore them all. Deffo my favourite house now (largely down to truating you on HR EDP)

Glad you went with Guerlain, Mr. S. So many great frags from the house. My favorites are Homme EdT, L'homme Ideal EdP and L'homme Ideal Cologne, though L'Instant is a legend.

Dan, you and I have very similar tastes in fragrance. Identical even. If you haven't tried Elsha 1776, please get yourself a bottle and review it. It's a Russian Leather dominant "cologne" (with the strength of an EDT) and I know you will fall in love with it. I believe it was first released in the early 1960's, so it is very old-school. Still in production and nicely priced, around $50. Very well designed, very well made and blended with quality ingredients. Please give it a try. If you don't love it, I will buy it off of you.

Mr Smelly selects Givenchey Mon Giv., Dior Sauvage, YSL HOMME, Armani ‘84 as a bonus, Chanel PM. He picks Habit Rouge while Guerlain Vetiver fits so much better in the grouping of 6. DAN, Whats going on with the ultra undeniable definitive Vetiver? Seems up your alley. Do you just hate the note? Vetiver, such a much more modern while still retro, classy while not veering prissy, as many contend with Habit Rouge EDT. 2 videos now, Guerlain Vetiver gets the snub. ! Guerlain did it right on so many occasions. If I had to pick a top 3, I'd go hands down Shalimar / Heritage and Vetiver. I never get tired of these, they will be relevant in 2100

I have multiple bottles of DHP and DHI. I have mutiple bottles of Chanel No. 5 ( don't ask! ). I have no Guerlain. I have other designers but it's chaos theory. Yup.

Based on prior videos, surprised you didn’t include Terracotta Le Parfum. But agree on the Guerlain choice, though with Dior, Guerlain and even Chanel from the first battle, the real winner is to own some from each house.

L'Instant is a favourite of mine for colder months, super classy. I'm a fan of Guerlain in general, but have to be honest - I'd still take my top 3 Dior's over them in a head to head such as this though. Sorry Guerlain, but hey, in reality I don't actually have to choose, I can have my cake and eat it too, phew!

Love the concept for the video, please continue. I'm with you on Guerlain. I have massive back stock of vintage Habit Rouge EDT, and L'Instant EDT was my signature scent for years, I'm on my 3rd bottle. I can't imagine being without either. And Ideal EDP would round out my top 3!

Guerlain win easily, for me. They have plenty higher end frags like the L'Art & La Matiere & Les Absolus d'Orient collections. Then there's the Exceptional Creations & Bespoke fragrances, if money is no object. Although Habit Rouge is my all time fave frag, that's thankfully very reasonably priced.

There is nothing refined about Dior Jules. The only Dior that exceeds Guerlain Heritage and Vetiver is Eau Sauvage EDT.

Christian Dior and his brand were ALWAYS a maison focused on the tissue, its a haute couture brand, later on the perfumes were introduced ONLY as a complement, its not a perfume house. In the very oposite theres Guerlain, which was,is and will always be a perfume house. What i mean is that they are incomparable, not even rivals. Balenciaga vs Dior? Ok. Dior vs Chanel? Ok. But Guerlain? Guerlain is monarchy in perfumery my friend. Maybe (just maybe) if u really wanted to make a comparison between 2 big houses with royal principles in perfumery you can add Caron, that always focused all of his work in perfumery.
