Pause the video at 6:27. Look at those beautifully centered labels on each keycap. If you like centered labels and RGB effects, then this is the only keyboard on the market for you.
David Macalintal I've used Model M, ALPS, Cherry MX, and a few others including clones and variations. These keys are crap across the board, but man, are they ever pretty.
@@ferni0 I'm not a fan of Razer but I'm just saying that this new Razer keyboard is muuuuch better than other keyboards from Razer. I'm also a fan of Logitech, Corsair and HyperX.
@@acv4519 Razer should start to put more metal in their designs instead of plastic and media keys like Corsair otherwise the product will feel cheap in my opinion.
I know this list is meant for serious gamers who are willing to spend more for a keyboard , but if you are a kid or just a casual player who doesn’t want to spend that much, look into the Redragon K552 KUMARA keyboard. It is very small and compact, no numpad, and has MX Blue equivalent switches. At only $30 on amazon, it’s a great deal. The con is that it has only red backlight. If you want a rgb on you’ll have to pay $15-20 more. But overall it looks like a great deal, and if you’re on a budget then you really should look into it
I have a Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 with green switches, and I love them. I've done a few tech reviews, and I really enjoy them. I want to get more stuff to review, but I'm pretty sure my dad won't let me because it's "useless". Asian parents. Smfh.
dont blame you father ... oh my GOD!!! you have already one very good keyboard... ofcourse its useless to buy an other just to do a review that probably nobody will see...
ΞΥΠΝΑΤΕ you dont really understnd the purpose of getting products to review... If he were to buy another keyboard he would gain more audience that wants to know someones POV of that keyboard. Then he would gain a repitition and soon be able to get these products for free for review. Educate yourself on what reviews are before commenting. Smfh
The Logitech G513 is my keyboard of choice because of the amazing centered RGB and the clean look across the board, in which I don't use Media or Macro keys. I also went to Best Buy to try the Linear switches, and they felt amazing. I recommend the Romer-G Linear if you like a smooth keystroke. The Tactile ones felt pretty good, they feel very similar to the Cherry MX Brown. The GX Blues were average, I would prefer the Cherry MX Blues if you like the Click. The Wrist Rest is also very comfortable, I'd say more so than The Razer Huntsman Elite's Wrist Rest. I recommend this keyboard 100% if you like the nicely Centered RGB lighting, and the Clean look across the Board.
Too many people complain that Razor keyboards and mice break after 3-4 months of using it. And I'm not surprised. You can watch the video from Him, they have some negative opinion about some stuff in the Huntsman, maybe that will help you Stone Edwards)
Razor is wierd they mainly go for the look of a gamer they don’t have good quality but I still love them they focus mainly on the design of the keyboards it’s super nice and worth the price if you want the look but if your looking for quality it’s not your type of keyboard
ass eater well, the video are about gaming keyboards. Those brands are geared toward enthusiast right? The brands you listed beat all the brand listed here but it seem out of place. Don’t know if those brands release gaming keyboards too. Correct me if i am wrong.
Muhammad Haziq Bin Zulkefli well as every enthusiast says there’s some no such thing as a gaming keyboard. It’s all just a marketing term. Most enthusiast keyboards normally have things like n key roller, cherry switches, and even rgb lighting. Gaming keyboards just look gamery. That’s all.
I prefer design over anything and the gaming keyboards just look better most of the time. Like the G513, it has the best design of any keyboard I have seen yet. Aestethics are very important and many of those keybaord you see especially on r/MechanicalKeyboards just look ugly and like they are 30 years old already. The new Huntsman Elite is also really nice looking
ass eater i see. Nevertheless, it a successful marketing term and some gaming keyboard do strive for a non gamery look like the hyperx pro keyboard. Question, you said every keyboard enthusiast said there no such thing as gaming keyboard, why do tech reviewers still address them as gaming keyboard aside from a marketing term? Is it because some of them are not enthusiast?
Agree. Razer Huntsman is far better than K95 because: 1. Razer optical switches are rated for 100 milliion clicks while Cherry switches are rated for merely 20-50 million clicks. 2. Huntsman has better design, more minimalistic look 3. Huntsman has etter wrist rest 4. Corsair keyboards (K70/K95) have issue with space bars that wobble just too much 5. Huntsman has a lag-free switches thanks to the optical technology 6. Huntsman has better RGB.
I have spent hours at the store playing with the Keybaords and I have to say Razer with their Stabilizer bar on the space bar is Gold, no one else seems to have a similar feel/sound on the space bar.
I know this video is old, but it definitely helped me to decide on the G513. Just arrived a few days ago, and so far I am loving the hell out of it. The wrist rest is absolutely amazing!
I did a lot of research (for one day...lol). Watched a lot of reviews. I've been gaming since the 90s when I left the consoles. (Was addicted to Gran Tourismo). Then I stopped gaming for about 9 years. Just getting back into it. I ordered the Corsair K-70 cherry MX red, last night. I thought your review was excellent. But now I'm worried about the spacebar blowing up on me....hahaha. ..... Of all the reviews I watched, you're the only one to which I subscribed. Keep up the great work!
I just bought a ducky one white rgb tkl, since i really love the design of ducky boards. I had an k95 platinum before and i couldn't be happier with the decision to move on to another keyboard. The ducky one is in my opinion the best keyboard for me personally. The design is clean, the rgb looks fantastic and the switches feel great as always (cherry mx switches). Ducky is kinda expensive tho, but it was worth it for me (i now use brown switches, i used speeds before and the travel distance is waaaay too small to type)
Tom Atkinson hey man heads up if it's possible for you to wait until September 10th, I would do so. because the ducky one 2 rgb keyboard releases on Sept 10th and you can preorder right now for cheaper than you can buy a ducky one rgb keyboard.
When buying razer you are paying a price premium for the brand name there are equally as excellent brands for a much more reasonable price. A bit like the apple of the gaming world...
No the the razer huntsman worth what yoi pay for but it is the only keyboard which worth what you pay for. Opto mechanical switches have a laser inside and it is very expensive to put a laser in all the caps
I think that Razer is what you get for your price. You get really high quality products for not just keyboards. But don't get me wrong company's like Logitech are amazing. But comparing Razer to Apple is kinda low not gonna lie
@@danielrobidoux I agree it might not of been the best comparison but it is mostly true, razer do produce high quality products but, in the case of the razer huntsman elite being $199 for opto-mechanical switches, dedicated media keys and more rgb doesn't add up to the price. This price reflects the 'flagship' status and the new optomechanical keys
I managed to score a G513 carbon with the tactile switches for $60 new at my job a week ago and I absolutely love it. It is amazing to type on, extremely comfortable, and I love the minimalistic aesthetic. Highly recommend.
Gotta say nice video review. I liked all the talking points that you gave, something to think about in comparison. I came here thinking about buying a R Λ Z Ξ R Huntsman Elite but I do like Corsair products so I was looking into the K95 Platinum as well. I wasn't even aware of the K70 MK.2 but liked what I saw in the video. I think I am going to buy the Razer still because it's got the new Opto-Mechanical Switch and it does have those media keys and all the good RGB underglow which really isn't important but if i'm spending $200 yeah i do want it.
I swap the Alloy Elite RGB for the K70 mk.2 (black version) and i think the k70 is absolutely better in almost every aspect (same switches). What a great decision
Your videos are SO high quality, i have been a very happy sub on your channel for a while now and i cant get enough of your vids. Please continue doing these videos! i reccomend this channel to my buddies who used to like techsource and bitwit, but they now love this channel so much more! Keep it up man! i have an idea tho, maybe you could do a video on cherry switches, i have a Corsair Strafe with mx reds and i want to learn more about them. Thanks man! -Charles
Hey Charles, Thanks for being so supportive and spreading the word. I really appreciate the kind words. helps keep me motivated, especially when I'm just feeling like playing games lol. Say hi to your friends for me!
Recently picked up and have been using a few keyboards, two of which were on your list... 1) Logitech G910 Spectrum Orion RGB (Romer-G Linear Switches) - overall a decent keyboard and the keys are actually quite nice. A little on the heavy and large size but packed with features, and the RGB shining through the keys looks really vibrant. 2) Corsair K70 Mk.2 RGB (Cherry MX Silent Switches) - another nice keyboard but be wary of the sharp corners if not using the wrist / palm wrest. Construction seems better than that of the Logitech but I couldn't really get along with the font or the over-"wobbly" space bar / space bar sound. Yes, even with the silents it was a bit too loud. 3) The keyboard I've decided to keep - HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (Cherry MX Red Switches). The construction of this one is definitely industry leading and a beefier rest would be the only suggestion I'd make. Also doesn't suffer from that space bar wobble as much as the Corsair offerings. In terms of weight, the Logitech was heaviest - around 1.55kg, with the smaller HyperX only just behind at 1.45kg. The Corsair was the lighter of these three, being around 1.25kg, with these latter two weighed without the wrist / palm wrests attached. Also to point out that the volume scroll wheel on the HyperX Alloy Elite is actually metal unlike what was mentioned in the video, and has slightly more resistance than the other two keyboards' wheels I mentioned.
I was expecting there to be comments like. "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Motospeed Black K87S NKRO is the best keyboard to date it should be number 1 REEEEEEEEEEEEE".
For the Logitec g513 I would really suggest a AutoHotkey skript that lets you use the media buttons permanently without having to press "FN", while all the other function keys (f1-f8) work just normally. Cause in the software from Logitech you can only revert all the FN keys at once.
I use the Razer Blackwidow Elite with the green switches, its not that loud, but it may get annoying, and plus its a very good keyboard, with the simple font and the typing experience is amazing, would definitely recommend.
I have gotten a Huntsman Elite a few days ago and I will definitely recommend it however I do not like clicky switches but these purple switches are defiantly an exception!
Thank you for not just saying "get a Blackwidow". I understand that it's a good keyboard however, there are certain things that turn me away from it. So I've been looking for more off-brand keyboards as I really want something different. Also, I agree with you on how Razer should introduce new types of switches for the Huntsman line (hopefully a linear version) which would definitely make me consider it.
Hi my guy. Have you perhaps heard of the brand Marvo? A couple of their keyboards are now available at my local store, which claim to use Blue mechanical switches. No idea which brand; one of their boards is advertised to use Outemu blue switches, was wondering if you've heard of them?
In my country the corsair k95 rgb platinum is the same price as the razer huntsman elite, which one should i get for both gaming and typing. Typing is mainly for school for essays. Or should i get blackwidow elite when it is here? And if so with what keys?
Good video. I agree with the Corsair.. the keys just felt cheap to me. The Logitech was too plasticky (and I have a G502 mouse that I love) and cheap feeling. Specs-wise I thought I'd like the Razer but the keys were over the top too clicky for me. Plus I'm not a fan of the soft wrist pad. I'd probably like the CoolerMaster but was not able to demo one in person. Personally I like the HyperX the best, probably in Brown switches as I do a lot of typing/dev work.
I use a $50 mechanical keyboard now. Love it so far. Its 61keys solid RGB waterproof, with Gateron switches are audibly and tactilely satisfying to press; now I like them more than my cherry browns right now, although I really liked those too. The tactile bump is quite a bit more pronounced than on the Browns and it is quite satisfying. If you have similar budgets, you can search Instago on Amazon, can't get better for the price.
Really nice keyboards. I prefer my Logitech G Pro Tenkeyless keyboard. Ended up getting one because I never use the numpad so it was somewhat of a waste of space for me. That’s just my preference though. If I ever wanted to get a full size keyboard, I’d definitely go with one of these.
Another solid option would be the k70 low profile because from what I've heard, it fixes the wobble, rattle and poor stabilization on certain keys. It would be good if you enjoy low travel and light key presses because it only comes in low profile speed and low profile red.
I kinda agree on the Razer Huntsman being number one, because it allows the world of gaming technology to move forward to greater heights, who knows what will the gaming world introduce to us in the future.
I'm using the suora fx by roccat , a kind of underrated keyboard ,fully customisable, the keys are brighter than some, can even change the key sounds to laser beans , for your kids space set up .
I've heard a lot of bad reviews about Razer as a company in general the past few years. Have things changed over the years? I'm currently choosing between the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB, Corsair K70 MK.2, Blackwidow Elite & the Logitech G910/G810. Which would you recommend? I chose these because of the dedicated media control keys and they all have tactile switches.
Nice video. Have a Logitech G513 and love it. I love the wrist rest however a negative is that it does not attach at all. My problem is my desk is slick and it slides away. But other then that. As for macros, it also has those, just by way of fn key as well. It also does have a way to active the fn keys so you don’t have to hold the fn button. So if watching a movie, go and activate that and then you can press the corresponding key. I also like that the fn row lights up with certain applications. (Imagine this is covered with your more in debt video). So something like discord, it lights up a different color per person when they speak. Or if you get a message etc.
I wanted to like the corsair more. not being a razer fan but those purple switches are perfect they feel incredibly and the key layout, size, and concave fit me the best. The razer after trying all these keyboards out is my favorite. Also after trying out all the best mice I couldn't get over how perfectly the mamba elite fit my hand! I was not a razer fan before and actually wanted to go against the grain but wow what a perfect combination. I still think corsair makes a good mouse but would go with the LG keyboard for my second choice.
Should I go with the g513s gx clicky or romer gs? Romer gs look great and I've heard a lot of good things but I've always loved the clickyness of blues and if any keycaps break I can replace them plus custom keys and romer gs might feel weird to me ( since 1.5 actuation) but they seem awesome idk what to choose I can't test them either
2019 and I believe the keyboards on this video are still one of the best. Though, it would be good if there's one that gives more emphasis on ergonomics.
The primary feature of optical switches is they are "immune" to key chatter. Traditional metal contact switches are all prone to chatter, there is no escape from that.
im a little bit curious on how much time did you guys who always recommand Logitech's Romer-G switchs really spend on them. i have used a lot of keyboards. the only one broke within warranty time is the Logitech G Pro. Romer-G switchs are actually pretty bad in quility perspective
I used the huntsman, the K70 Mk.2, the K95 and the G13. I didn't like the razer switches on the Huntsman tbh, the K70 MK.2 is allright and the K95 too (I would put them in second) but the G513 is my favorite overall. I really love the design/asthetic/feel of the keyboard.
I swear to you i was reading all these comments like: How do you not have more subs? I was thinking to my self you probably has 100 k or smthg. Then i actually go see you have 27k... Damn you deserve more, your vids are great quality! Also if you could help me on some things i would appreciate. First of all, whats the music at 1:49? Second, i will buy a pc soon but i need recomendations for a good keyboard & mouse. I know this vid lists the top 5 keyboards for 2018 but what if you’re a noob that doesnt understand anything? First i fell in love with steelseries apex 750 it looked so gud but now im between the razor huntsman and logitech g810 orion spectrum. Mouse i think ill buy a Razer DeathAdder Elite. Has 4 extra buttons and people say very good about it.
Logitech G613. Best of all keyboards. +Wireless +Mechanical +Romer G switches (MX Red/Brown hybrid) +Cheap for mechanical+wireless +Multi platform +Long lasting battery +- Grey Colour (Depends on opinion) +- Matching Mouse which is the best wireless gaming mouse on the market (Good senser, light weight, long lasting battery, Big range of DPI options, no allumination) -No lighting (Which i don't like) -Cheap Keycaps (Don't really feel like cheap imo) Remember this is MY opinion, i use them myself. No regrets, best cheap high-end gaming mouse and keyboard. If you really want the allumination you can choose for the G810 keyboard and the G Pro / G203 Mouse, the mouse is about the same, only the size is different. The keyboard has the same switch, other keycaps but is wired. Hope this helped people decide what keyboard and maybe what mouse they will buy.
Which shines better blackwidow chroma v2 or the huntsman elite? Please answer and do a comparison video. The only thing I am worried about with the huntsman elite is the brightness . I think it's brightness is lower than blackwidow chroma v2. Please answer
@@ant3866 I'm gonna teach you a secret about the internet: not everything you read should be taken literally. Ancient truth that only a few people know. No need to thank me though, just send me your credit card info.
I have a K95 platinum with speed switches and I find it crazy good. The only complaint that I have is that it's only available with speed and brown switches, which is pretty bad for a top tier product. I'd love to try the Huntsman Elite but I think that if I had to choose between the two I'd rather go for the K95 just because it has everything that the huntsman elite offers (except for the rgb sides and wrist rest, but that's not a big deal for me, even though I'm obsessed with rgb lighting) plus dedicated media keys.
logitech g513 and logitech g pro are really top quality keyboard. If you can get over the romer g switches, which really don't feel much different from mx keys it's a solid keyboard. If you don't need millions of macros it's probably the best keyboard in it's class
I got a BW chroma v2 basically new for 50 bucks and I threw in some o rings and I put on YMDK double shot key caps. Absolutely love the feel of the green switches but their a little loud
Yes! razer huntsman is so good! I used yellow razer switches before but missed the clicks. Greens were 50 g force though but with the new huntsman I get the best of both worlds, 45 g force and clicky sound and feel. Worth every penny
I have a Logitech g513 it’s so good but it’s really clicks if people don’t like that but I have had it for 3 months and nothing has changed from when I got it
