If you want to invest in hotwheels the money 💰 is in the older rlc cars that’s more rare some is only 3000 and the vintage redlines and convention cars as well those are the cream of the hobby my opinion you can’t go wrong if gotten at the right prices and of course super treasure hunts found in the wild are always great investments for a doller

Found 3 of the EK9s in the wild. And then scored another one thru a trade and then bought a short card ek9 for 209. Definitely worth!🙏🏽

Great video, keep up the good work!!! What I'm seeing with Hot Wheels is similar to what we were seeing with comics, cards and licensed toys back in the early to mid 90's...short-term speculation. Variant covers, holographic cards, variant action figures, special releases, etc. Artificial scarcity (or perceived scarcity) driving the market for an ever-growing group of speculators. As more and more speculators enter the market, collectors can choose to cough up the dough or drop out of the race, discouraged and bitter. We see a little of both happening here. Eventually, the bottom falls out of these speculative markets and they reset themselves. Long term investor demand for most toy related collectibles normally relies on nostalgia and cultural relevance. Buying toys to replace those you played with (or wished you'd had) as a child, in other words. But as one generation ages out, they are replaced by a new generation that played with different toys and the toys of the prior generation tend to downward adjust in price as those who used to collect them die off. And so it goes... With production numbers for most HW's being a well-guarded corporate secret, it's all but impossible to accurately determine what the scarcity of any particular mainline casting is. I can say this much, however...unless the toy is a one-of-a-kind certified error , it's not rare. "Rare" is a term that gets bandied about all too frequently. Even "scarce" is a much abused descriptor. All this being said, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with a little speculation, as long as folks aren't losing their shirts. Spend only what you can afford and you will never go wrong!

I have 3 of them. I don’t care about value. Its one of my favorite cars ever. I love HW trucks because they rarely make them. Mostly the same licensed car and lesser known cars. I hate all the ridiculously made up cars. Even as a kid. Like why? They are ugly and have no function to them.

Hotwheels aren't really an investment. Unless you're talking old redlines, some specific series (like speed machines, vintage racing), some IDs and STHs (JDMs, and some European models that have a fan base),and even all them have their limits. All the rest are not really worth buying to "invest". You might occasionally get a surprise in sold prices because someone might have bought a model for higher that usual, but that's just cause the collector really needed it. Prices have moreless stayed the same for years now. If you want to invest buy MTG cards. Hotwheels doesn't have the same pull as action figures or trading cards have.
