My first ever R&C game. The reason why I fell in love with the series. My top1 game in the ranking of the series. That’s why my list is: 5. Rilgar - the section to the race was great and amoeboids were interesting foes, race was good and memorable because of its two skill points but the main at attraction were the sewers. As a child I had a ptsd from this section and music, I couldn’t beat, my father couldn’t because of that I replayed previous planets many times and got the ryno but then my father’s friend did it. Now it’s a cakewalk for me but adrenaline still hits there. 4. Novalis - first planet after Veldin, showing how galaxy can be colourful and lively. 3 paths at the start, each one giving different challenge (and 4th one after hoven for gold bolt). That DJ scratching is unforgettable from that place and the rest of the song. 3. Kerwan - it’s the icon of the series and I love it but I have other favourites. First big alien city we visit with chasing sequence, skyscrapers climbing, riding that train and getting swingshot is making great pace after novalis and that great industrial track and good hidden secrets. 2. Gemlik Base - it was a truly unique level. With its great Ost remembering you how alone and isolated you are now, going through hordes of enemies and creative structure of the level in freaking space with mask all the time on out head and revenge on Qwark done at the end. Wonder why Ratchet hasn’t frozen there half naked, even thought that sun was very close it couldn’t bring to much warm. 1. Blarg Tactical Research Station - it’s one of the best space stations I’ve ever played in video games and absolutely love the concept of them as levels. Three paths, first clank level ever, the warship and the big red shiny button which gives ptsd, main road with exploring the whole station, solving puzzles and atmospheric Ost, it was perfect. There are no bad levels in this game. Every one has something which brings joy on the memory of it.
My favourite level is the Gemlik Base. The soundtrack in this level is my personal favourite and I love the interior parts of the level. Walking in different angles with the gravity boots and jumping across platforms with changing acid levels had me feel deep immersion for the first time like I really was some cool cartoon character going on a deep space mission.
@@Tulemasin Gemlik Base is a cool level indeed! Not my favorite, but I have to admit that the atmosphere is pretty amazing. Also you have to fight Qwark there, which is an important part of the story:) I have a lot of RaC videos on the channel by the way. You can check them out if you want:)
Great list! 😎 Thanks for the comment! I have more RaC content on my channel so you can check it out if you want! For example, there is a similar video, but about levels from the second game!;)
There are literally no bad levels in this game! I noticed all your favourites are from the 1st act except from Pokitaru. If i had to make a top 5 then it would be 5. Dreks fleet. The OST in both the main level and flying section is brilliant. Swimming section on a ship is very creative. The stealth element is very fun. 4. Aridia. Just super memorable with its character interactions, all the OST is brilliant. 3. Gemlik base. Unique level design its really fun trying to get past the turret bois. OST super unique. 2. Novalis. Really memorable OST with that DJ scratching noise at the start. Arguably has 4 pathways with the gold bolt one in the water. Character interactions really memorable especially the plumber. 1. Oltanis. Love the interaction with Quark. The difficulty of the level i really enjoy. Also has 4 pathways if you include the swingshot path for gold bolt. Home to the first morph weapon. OST is also really good. This is actually my favourite level in the whole series
Thank you for sharing your list!😃 Drek's Fleet used to be one of my favorite tiers when I was a kid, but unfortunately it didn't make the top 5 when I made this video.
Interesting. I dont agree with any of these except for Kerwan but there are no bad planets in the 2002 game and I respect you making this list. Good job! How old are you if I may ask?
@@gold_gear Ah you want to see my list... I would say... 5. Kalebo III (the Gadgetron HQ makes for a fun location) 4. Veldin (the original homeplanet... just so nostalgic...) 3. Oltanis (losing Clank for this planet, with the lightning flashes, robots, grindrails, snow sections, beautiful music) 2. Kerwan (Metropolis is off course the gold standard of R&C planets) 1. Blarg Tactical Research Station (I just absolutely love this level for the atmosphere, creatures, music, first Clank level ever, lighting, ...) But every list is a right list I suppose :)
Great list, there's not a single level I dislike, the original game nails its level design. My personal list: 5- Gemlik Base, my favorite music tracks in the game, fun dogfight boss and the atmosphere is great, but I wish it had proper branching paths besides just trespasser shortcuts around the Blarg gunners :( . 4- Hoven, I like the variety each path has and the difficulty is nice and challenging. 3- Oltanis, I really liked having to play without Clank, platforming was much harder and attacks were more difficult to dodge, as it's just 1 planet it doesn't overstay its welcome and you're glad to have Clank back after it's all over. 2- Orxon, I like the difficulty and the music is so atmospheric, just a fun planet overall. 1- Quartu, as someone that loves stealth games, sneaking through the factory with the hologuise and hiding behind boxes was tense and fun. Love the music, plus the Giant Clank section was a nice surprise too.
Orxon and Gemlik Base are probably the most atmospheric levels in the series, and they were close to being part of this list, but I seem to like the more colorful levels like Pokitaru and Kerwan. Thank you for sharing your favorite levels!;)
@@gold_gear I was looking at it more from a gameplay side. So in terms of visuals I love Gaspar and Aridia the most, they have great colors and unique architecture, I really like desert and volcano settings.
This amazingness was just what I required! For as non-alien-like as the planets are in this game (which does make me rank the planets lower, though I still adore them) they are tremendously iconic. I feel like even those who are not fans of the franchise will be able to name Novalis or Veldin. While I'm present, I share my opinion, in no particular order: 5. Planet Umbris. I think this planet is immensely underrated. The overall aesthetic is not the most pre-eminent or peculiar one, but it is still sufficient, and the boss fight was nice. More love for this planet. 4. Planet Gaspar. I think it being here is explanatory enough, it's that memorable. 3. Planet Kerwan. This level is unanticipatedly detailed to the tee. For a PS2 game, it is astonishing. This level also introduces a myriad of staple elements, such as the Heli-Pack or Big Al (I miss him...) the gameplay is also very good. Astounding planet! 2. Planet Batalia. It's a snow-themed level, which is a plus. The turret section is exceedingly satisfying, and the way to get there enjoys similar opinions from me. Exquisite planet. 1. Veldin, but more specifically, the revisit with the final boss. This scenario is rather spine-chilling: imagine your homeworld being a target for a money-hungry, corporate dictator, while robots and tanks flood said homeworld. Then you engage the dictator in a levitating mecha suit. Spectacular atmosphere and aesthetic, and I love the enemies here.
@@CozyGlow625 Nice list! However, Batalia is snow-themed in the remake. In the original it’s tropical:) To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Umbris, but it's an important planet for the story and there are actually some creative sections!:)
@@gold_gear Oops, sorry. I have played the remake recently, which may have been why I mixed the Batalias up. Oh, and honorable mentions would go to Aridia and Hoven. For the unique enemies and intriguing aesthetics.
@@gold_gear I agree with that statement. Even though nothing beats the original, I feel as though the remake perfects a lot of returning levels. For example, I like Gaspar more in the remake too.
@@CozyGlow625 Yeah, Gaspar is the shortest level in the original, but longest in the remake.😂 I like the added islands where you can find the brains and stuff.
