I don’t like the 700’s either I prefer the qc45 hopefully they update these soon, with better noise cancelling. A lot more comfortable than the 700s both of mine have lasted years though

@@jinraigami3349 I am not a fan of Apple. I got the XM5's the noise canceling is outstanding. They're so good that I walked by a house that was being worked on. And I didn't hear the powertools being actively used. XM5's are worth it. If you want a straight forward answer to blocking out sounds.

I used to love the Sony brand. But my 1000mx5 started to get TouchPad issues with longer wear and even started to skip, pause rewind when I moved my head. So bought a new one within days I have the same TouchPad issues, either being glitchy or stop working all together. Never again!!! I might go for bose 700!

I ditched Sony after they remove Surround VPT, their new models sound awful especially without them.

I use iOS and appreciate the AirPods Max's construction quality. However, I'm puzzled why many say they're mainly suited for iOS users. They connect via Bluetooth like any other headphones, and you can adjust volume or play media similarly. The unique aspects of the AirPods Max are their automatic pause when lifted from your ear and their Dolby Digital surround sound support that both only work with iPhones and iPads.

Stopped watching after the first one in the list - Bose 700. In a review, I need to hear the pros and cons AND more objective data points (x hours of battery etc). A lot of subjective positive adjectives don’t make a lot of sense as for someone using a $15 earl phones, the sound is obviously going to be “amazing” compared to an audiophile working with high end sound equipments.

I cannot recommend Sony. I've had both the XM1's and the XM4's and both suffered manufacturing defects. I nearly went deaf recently when I got a feedback loop in my XM4's. I can't risk going deaf. Looking online it seems most people with the XM4's are having this issue. So - no - I won't be giving Sony anymore of my money.

My XM3 stopped working after like 14 month of usage. I got all my money back though, so really, it was kind of a blessing in disguise. Bought the XM5, but the ANC was annoying, because it would constantly adjust to your surroundings, which is annoying when there are stairs etc and every step can change how the noise cancellation works, so I ended up returning them.r

You should only use noise cancelation in "noisy" environments... I know that sounds simple as shit, but there's a reason. Simplified: Noise cancelation works by playing the inverse (down) of the waveform recorded outside of the earpiece (up). UP+DOWN=ZERO Unfortunately, in order to accomplish this feat of "noiseless magic," those same, although quieter, inverse waveforms (let's call them (1/4 down)), are also working against the audio that is playing though the earpiece (up)..... Now we have eliminated all outside noise, but: UP + 25% DOWN = 75% UP This is LITERALLY the most simplified way to explain the point I am trying to make... FUCK NOISE CANCELATION if you don't work at or around an airport, backstage at a bowling ally, own a limo company that cators to sweet sixteen birthday whatevers, etc... I welcome any informed discussion, as well as any additional hilarious "noise-cancelation necessary" occupations, to be listed below.

Sennheiser will give you the best "tru- tone" audio. BOSE has always scooped mid-range frequencies allowing for a smoother bass at the expense of losing a fair amount of the production characteristics in every song you listen to... (sounds REALLY good for easy listening though). SONY - I rocked a pair of Sony 7520s for almost a decade. Going from a 50mm Neodymium driver to a 30mm Thermoplastic Poly driver in the WM 100 XM5 though, gives me pause. I want to think they made that change to reduce current and improve battery life, but I see they changed over on their wired headsets as well... I'll have to listen before I can assess. If I were you, I'd go Sennheiser.

I work at a lumber mill. As a result idk wat a indoor voice is anymore bcuz I'm so used to yelling to be able to have some1 20 feet away even hear me. When the planer is running, if u r within 150 feet of it u can't hear some1 without them just short of yelling. At work they have foam ear plugs that u throw out after a day and for ppl like me who can't use them they have us use 3M ear muffs. They r great but nowhere near noise cancelling. It reduces the noise of everything by at best 50%. My hearing is slowly going bcuz there is too much noise that I still hear. I have to have my ears about 5 inches from a person's mouth to almost clearly hear them. That's when everything is running and every1 has there ear protection on. The quietest thing in the planer is the chains, and they r imo just a tad bit too loud without ear protection. The trimmers r 5-10 times louder, the resaw is twice as loud as the trimmers, and the planer is at least 10 times louder still. And to give a perspective, I can tolerate the rev of a loud ass car, but the chains at work r too loud for comfort. A coworker came across noise cancelling Bluetooth earbuds online and has been using them since. So I have considered getting headphones like these to see if they might be a better option.

I'm trying to understand but the best I get is, the louder everything is outside the quieter the noise that is produced in the speakers? Or is it the louder the noise outside the greater the reduction in volume that seeps thru?
