Can we agree on the fact that non 180 degrees "modular" are useless ? Well I just tested Neotec 3, modular mode is ok at the red light, really had while riding
Hi! I'm looking for a budget option. I'm looking forward for a HJC i91. Theres much diference in performance (noise, comfort) between the i91 and i90? For a couple more bucks I could get an i100. What would be the best? Or would you recommend another one in the same price range?
The differences between the i90 and i91 are very small. They're pretty much equal in terms of road performance (noise isolation & ventilation). However, the i91 is about 100 grams heavier, which is most likely due to the fact that the i-91 meets stricter safety standards than the older i90 does. Personally, out of that selection of helmets, I'd go for the i100, due to the fact that this helmet is a flip-over helmet, and doesn't generate as much wind-resistance when you flip it all the way over the shell. Also, take a look at the Nolan N120-1, a very similar helmet to the i100.
@@Championhelmets Thanks a lot! Do you have an upcoming review on that Nolan? It's still not available in mexico, so I'll wait a few more weeks for your review
I had the AGV Carbon Modular and it was very light but noisy and not worth the price as it felt cheaply made and the chin strap was in a weird position ...
Generally speaking, modular helmets are best suited for a touring riding style. Regarding the safety, keep in mind that modular helmets have to pass the same ECE 22.06 (In Europe) safety standard as full face helmets. These standards are very strict and are solely designed to make sure that consumers get helmets that actually work in the event of a crash. However, it's difficult to tell how helmets compare to eachother safety wise after they have their 22.06 certification. That comes down to the individual helmets you're comparing, and the type of crash.
@@Championhelmets my concern is the part. Will it open upon impact and leave you exposed to the rest of the accident. Or will it stay closed. The reason I ask is I like the way some look. Though I'm getting potentially a sports bike that I like. Again for the look. It's appeasing to me. I've never owned a bike so it will be a brain rewire. Just hoping to keep the wires in tact.
Have the RPHA91 and hell... this one is loud as a starting jet.... compared it with a Full Face helmet (LS2 Thunder) which was considerably quieter even though the test results show the opposite.
I own a RAPHA91 Carbon and it’s the quietest helmet I have ever owned. And by far the best value proposition of the technology compared to 900 USD for the Shoei 3. And I started out wanting the Shoei, saw the Champion Helmets review and explored the HJC instead and their review was spot on. So thanks @championhelmets !
