they all sound pretty good but the last one sounds like a truck exhaust. all the other ones sound good but out of place. Imo a truck as big as the current ranger should not come with a 4cyl.
I certainly love my AWE 0FG exhaust system! To me it's a standout system. It's all premium t304 stainless steel + has awesome large dual "black chrome" stainless steel tips that certainly look unique & compliment the Ranger. It's "just" as AWE Tuning advertised it. It's got a very "deep" (for a 4 cylinder), mellow tone at idle with no raspiness. At cruising speed there is NO drone or unwanted tones & at times you forget It's there. But when you're on the gas 1/2 way or more it certainly makes its presence known. Quiet as you need/want it to be during normal driving or cruising, but does turn heads when you get on it. I like that it doesn't sound like an import tuner car & all "ricey", lol. To me it did add some noticeable power even without a tune & does save quite a bit of weight over the cumbersome Ford OEM system! My 2020 Ford Ranger is also custom tuned by Livernois Motorsports (I've kept mine in the 87-91 octane "towing" tune with OAR to automatically adjust for fuel octanes put in) for the great overall power, low to midrange torque & good fuel economy. I also have a Mishimoto sealed cold air intake with synthetic "dry" non-oiled cone filter for OEM-like air filtration quality, yet still good airflow + no oil to foul sensors. I've also added a Mountune Performance heavy-duty, high flow intercooler system to combat heatsoak issues (a problem with most all Ford EcoBoost engines), & deliver more consistent engine performance. I want to add a "high-flow" catted turbocharger downpipe as well as an upgraded turbocharger next.
Thank you for your work on this ! It would have been better perhaps, to leave the camera in the same place, elevation, etc., for each of the sound tests so we could have a better idea of which sounds the loudest, etc., at idle, and when you gunned it... I am still looking for the right one.. :)
I have the borla s and sounds pretty good.a downpipe and that exhaust and a tune might help a tiny with the sound. But very happy with it. At normal driving very Suttle. Rpm above starts to bark.
@@cowmoo007 I believe it works, but I would probably use a heat gun if I was going to to attempt it. I am of the understanding that it's only a temporary fix, and will look worse when it fades again. I have had good luck with detailer sprays made by Chemical guys or Adams for plastics. I use ceramic chemical guys interior detailer or adams interior detailer on them as they have some uv protection. If it holds up that's awesome though! I was told it usually reverts back pretty quick though and my ranger is way too new still for me to wanna risk it lol. I'm glad it worked for you though
Roush sounds very good on the v6 and v8s how ever, the price to sound quality ratio is not quite there for the 4 cylinder engines, will do a part 2 to this video for 2023, thanks for the input!
