I would go for the 3 rated "Splitterschutz" of the german army. Or maybe the 4 Rating Bristol. I cherish protection over movement. But I was a tank gunner, what am I to say.
So you're judging the video because the products are sold on Amazon? No wonder you can't shoot anything other than your load onto a sock for your mom to clean with your laundry... Ya can't have your nose in the air like that, brosephine. Make sure you dont buy any product from Leopold, eotech, trijicon, surefire, etc etc since they've all stooped to the level of reaching the world's largest consumer base
@@jujitzujesus Yes, I judged the video when the first product this video recommended is an airsoft vest, not even a plate carrier. Great slew of unrelated insults btw lol.
I'm 6'3 and currently for work I wear the K19. Compared to my old vest a Safe Life Defense. I feel almost naked in it. The K19 does have Level 4 plates in it which gave me a higher rating. However, because of how tall I am it just feels small. Portions of my body that where covered by my old vest are not covered with the K19. Yes, there is a zipper pouch on top of the carrier but with plates in its useless. Now the K19 is very comfortable. I carry everything that my old vest did, and heavier plates and it still feels lighter than my old one. But my sides are completely exposed. My Safe Life had Level 3+ and Stab rated for my sides. The K19 I've had to order the side pouches and armor. During a foot chase though in the K19 is amazing. It feels way better to run with than the safe life. I only got a years use out of my Safe life before the molle started to rip apart to where it was unserviceable. The K19 so far has held up to the constant rubbing of a duty belt and getting in and out. Its good for military use... in a desert.... not in law enforcement. Our SWAT team has switched to TacticalXmen from the K19.
So then what do you recommend for us bigger guys I’m 6,0 300 pounds I’m not obese or anything close to that I carry myself well and I can honestly say I have little to no gut sticking out I’m just super wide and bulky I have a hard time finding any plate carrier that fits me and I constantly outgrow them now that I’m 18 hopefully I won’t keep growing alot I’ve owned a lot of carriers and they always end up being too small what do you recommend?
You can buy side plates for the K19, Agilite sells the sleeves to add to the cumberbund. You may need to find a carrier that takes 11X14 plates if you’re tall in the torso, which the K19 won’t hold. There are videos on RU-vid or write ups online that go over how to measure for plates. I’m right on the edge of needing bigger than the K-Zero holds but just fit under, I will say, it feels small but according to what I read, it’s sized correctly and it sits correctly on my torso.
I've used the SKD PIG for years. It is very well built and accommodates all major styles, shapes, and contour of plates. They offer MOLLE or elastic cummerbunds. For the sake of longevity *if* this is being donned and doffed several times a day, perhaps a cummerbund kit with SPEAR tubes would be best, as velcro, in this case real velcro, doesn't last forever. SKD is a good American company, run by good people, and I'm very happy with this product and their customer service. I always look there first.
First option isn't even a plate carrier its a load bearing vest incapable of housing plates. From personal experience if you want something cheap yet good quality go with a condor mopc or sentry they run about 70 to 120$ depending if you get multicam or not they hold 10x12 or large esapi size plates. For something expensive get something like a crye jpc or a more custom vest like beez combat sentry plate carrier or their aptium
It's better than all the carriers on this list (I've got their LBAC). HRT also used to be a company only meant for training people made of veterans and law enforcement personnel. Meaning they made proper considerations in mobility and protection. I'm currently in service in the corps, and the LBAC is 100% better than the gen 2 carrier I was issued.
Here’s a pretty good question for trauma pads. Could you substitute soft body armor under steel body armor? That way you have the best kind of protection you can get
Yes, in the military that is how we issue our rigs. Not sure if it’s level 3. But we do have soft body armor under outplayed to fill the holes that plates leave.
Putting Agilite as Number one shows how terrible you are as a source. They are not nir compatible and shines like a neon sign under nightvision. A joke brand and having them as number one makes you a joke.
5 point eleven .... Bro its just 5 eleven .. So cringe . You expect somebody to take advice from you who posted one not even a plate carrier and two can't even pronounce 5.11 correctly.. Im good ✌️
