I'm looking to apply for a work from home position that will require me working online using my desktop and the job position(s) is daytime. My computer has WiFi and the WiFi comes from the main computer located on a different floor in the house. Also the main computer has a wired Lan connection and is being used by someone working online during the day. The job(s) I apply for require that my computer has a Lan connection. Is there a way to setup my computer as a Lan connection?

So I have the TP link N300. For the intial setup i have it in the same room as the router (10' away) it connected easily enougj, but the speed is drastically slower than what the router puts out. I have ATT fiber, so the speed is 300 up and down, but out if the extender i am only getting 15 mbps, so EXTREMELY SLOW!!! any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi, I have the ex6120 9:23 but my speeds are still slow. I have Spectrum 24/Up n 500/down I am hardwired to my extender but my speeds 9n my laptop are 19/20/up n 80/90 down on a good day. Can you please tell me if this is what I should be getting or should I upgrade to a more expensive extender? Thank you 🙏

Bandwidth is shared between all devices. So you wont see max speed with multiple connected devices. Also you have a really low upload speed which is a limiting factor. You may have a strong connection to the wifi just your bandwidth is not great.

I have a question… I don’t know much about extenders.. if I connect my router to the extender through Ethernet, can I use the “Ethernet internet” to create a new WiFi through the extender, while my routers wireless WiFi is turned off? I’ll appreciate every answer 🙏🏻

I have never seen any ranger extender that has WAN port( I mean those LAN port are output not input). What you need is another router to do that and yes you can do that with another router. But the question is if you already have a dedicated router why don’t you just don’t you just buy a longer cable?). Almost all Modems/Routers have options for disabling their Wireless network in their settings.

Depends on your WiFi. If you have gigablast (or whatever they call it now) you’ll want a Wifi6 extender If you have lower you’ll be good with AC series
