I think I'm the only person that loves the Winnie the Pooh ride :/ it was my favorite cartoon growing up, and it's just nostalgic to me. I make sure to ride it every time I go to Disney💙

I would love it if the Disney company expanded Adventureland to include things from Moana, Tarzan or even Atlantis. I feel like Adventureland is such a great concept but they don't have the attractions to back it up (Magic Carpets, Tiki Room, Swiss Family Treehouse, etc.) Get on this Disney!!

PsyNez127 Omg really??? That's so exciting! Are they going to do an attraction or a show or a restaurant or anything along those lines?
@ReidGarwin
@ReidGarwin 7 лет назад
Hannah Moran it hear there was going to be a ride but I forgot of that was the case what they would remove. if not a ride there will be a meet and greet, and a show maybe. for right now, all I know is that for the summer Stitch is coming back and they are also putting stitch into Tiki room, just like in Tokyo
@hannahmoran2149

PsyNez127 I feel like Stitch might work better in the Tiki Room than in Stitch's Great Escape. Well, we can ALL agree that anything will work better than Stitch's Great Escape.

Actually, I disagree. When you go to the park, you're not in a hurry. ANY ride that you want to go on is worth an hour wait. You don't have anywhere else to be so pick your favourite and wait in line while your fast passes mature.

I have an emotional connection to It's a Small World, too. I was a baby when my parents took me (and my older sister) to Disney for my first time and my mom said that the only place in all of Magic Kingdom that she could get me to take a nap and stay asleep was on It's a Small World. Apparently, the ride attendants let her ride the ride for 2 consecutive hours just so I could get my nap. Even years later, my mom doesn't mind listening to that song over and over again. I always make a point to sit right next to my mom when we ride it. :)

My fiance and I are really hoping to get to go to Disney together this summer, or at some point. I went twice when I was little, but he's never been. He said if we do go, he won't go on It's A Small World, but I can't imagine not going on. I absolutely love that ride, and all it stands for. The song doesn't annoy me one bit. I personally find it to be charming. I really love the personal connection you have on that ride with your mom, though. When I first went with my mom, she and I enjoyed Beauty and the Beast, Festival of the Lion King, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. She's not much of a rider. XD

it makes me sad that stitch, one of my favorite characters of all time, has such an awful ride, he needs a good ride somewhere else in the park, maybe something in fantasyland or maybe some space adventure that really utilizes the wide range of characters and opportunity in the lilo and stitch universe

when pete was talking about how he promised himself that he was going to go see the haunted mansion one day... it made me a little emotional, to be honest. i watched a documentary on disney parks when i was 6 or 7. they showed Expedition Everest and i just sat there in absolute awe of it. my parents couldn't afford to take me either so as i got older, i just started watching video after video of people riding it. i've probably seen almost every single one on youtube. i got to go to WDW for the first time when i was 16 and i'll never forget the chills i got when i saw it in the distance. i stood in line for god only knows how long. i went with my best friend & her mom, she kept asking me how i felt knowing that i was finally about to see the yeti i had been waiting about a decade to see. it'll always be tied at my favorite ride just for that.

Another fantastic episode. As you are about WDW I am about Disneyland. Been going there for 42 years. I absolutely love how much you reference and praise Disneyland. And when Pete, you said "it's a small world" was your #1 - awwww, the best! That is the heart of Disney for me. That ride and my emotional attachment to it is what ignited this passion I have for Disney. Thank you!

I've watched quite a number of your DIS videos, but I must say this one really affected me, due to Pete's anecdotes about his family connections to the attractions. This is why Disney is so different; the great attractions create personal memories, due to evoking wonder through their imaginative effects and storylines. They are not just rides [Flying carpets aside]. I lament the loss of the (original) Tiki room and most especially Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, because they were my father's favorites, and we enjoyed them together so much back in the day. I know the experiences I have shared at WDW with my daughters will stay with them into the future as they attend someday with their own families. Bravo, guys!

Oh, I love Swiss Family Robinson Tree House and it tops my list of memories when going to WDW as a child. Now 35 years(ish) later it's not the flashiest attraction but I could spend hours exploring all the "stuff" and imagining how I would have survived shipwrecked on an island. To each his own...

Small world is my absolute favorite. I was three years old when I first rode it and I thought it was the most mesmerizing thing I’ve ever seen and from that day on I’ve just loved this attraction. Both agree and disagree with some of these choices and opinions. What I do love however is the clear emotion shown when discussing the choices (especially the best list). It’s hard to comprehend how emotional Disney can make you, especially when in the parks. This video really illustrates this in a clear way. Very enjoyable to watch.

I loved this episode of the Best & Worst. To listen to Pete talk about his connections to his top 5 was awesome. Spoiler Alert: I don't know if I remember hearing the story about Splash Mountain and how that was the inspiration for The DIS. Plus the Small World story with his Mom, loved it!
@alittlerainbowofeverything7637
The attractions such as "It's a small world" and "Peter Pan's flight" are ones my granddad took me on as a child. I have taken my daughter on them. I will be taking my son in February on them. The whole point of Disney is making those memories. Disney is not just a park to me anymore. As adult with children of my own, it helps me be close to my Grandfather and helps me make memories with my children. This episode made me tear up. Thank you guys. I just love your show. I love hearing your opinions.

I hold near to my heart Pirates of the Caribbean for two things: I find it hilarious that I travel to see the same fort in Old San Juan and that it was one of the rides I did when I first went to Disney World. I'm a California native and a Disneyland gal for life. I've been to Walt Disney World twice now, and my husband and I are constantly trying to figure out how we can make it back for our next trip. As far as my favorite attractions, The People Mover is honestly one of them, because I miss the one we had in Disneyland. I love the MK's one because it goes through Space Mountain and you get the amazing castle views. Our last trip it was the last thing we rode, and we got on it just as Wishes was starting so we had such a great view of the whole show!

Went in 1990 with parents; this was inspired by our grandparents going in the 80's. We (parents, siblings and i), then went with grandparents in 1993 and my granddad, grandma, and myself was a huge fan of epcot. A Husband and 2 kids later we have been 5 more times and a 6th time this september. Grandparents passed away in 2005 and 2009 and every time i visit epcot my heart melts when i see it because of the happy memories. Two years ago my sister took my whole family to WDW for our first visit. She and her family had been before so they carefully planned everything out. The first ride we rode was Peter Pan (amazing of course) and then we went right away to disney's philharmagic. Before we went in she handed my wife and me gems and said 'watch for Aerial to throw jewels, when she does, act like you caught these and give them to your kids'. We did, and the looks on their faces were so priceless and from that moment on, they knew all bets for what they thought the world could be were off. For that moment alone I'll always love Philharmagic.

Another thing about Swiss Family Treehouse is that a lot of first-time people look at the map and decide to go clockwise around the park (like my parents did the first time they brought us when we were kids) and SFT is literally the first "attraction" you see. I'll never forget my dad's comment when we were walking off was, "People pay hundreds of dollars a ticket for this?" Of course by the end of Adventureland, we were all merrily singing the Pirates theme, but still... having SFT be the initial attraction many people see gives a horrible first impression. I honestly can't believe it's lasted all these years.

When you were talking about all of your friends going down and you just dying to get there is a bit like my friend and I. We would watch on the TV (black and white) on Sunday nights and vow we would get down there. That was when the Mainstreet Electrical Parade just started and we just drooled in front of the TV and vowed we'd get down there. We finally got down there and the parade finished TWO WEEKS before we got there!! But we loved it. First ride was Peter Pan and I started crying for a few reasons. First - "You Can Fly" was, is and always WILL BE my favourite Disney song. Second - London is one of my favourite places in the world and I always get excited as we're arriving and in the holding pattern around the city. Third - the Mermaid Lagoon is so beautiful! Finally I got to Disneyworld just a few years back. My friend was supposed to be with me but she'd had a bad fall and was in pieces so I was on my own. Sat for the parade and just about freaked when I heard it was the intro to the Electrical Parade. I phoned her so she could at least hear the music LOL.

Small World wouldn't make my top list...when I was younger ('92? '93?) the ride stopped in between 2 countries and got stuck for (what felt like) 45 minutes... same song in two languages at the same time. They said the ride would be moving momentarily but didn't. My mom was very excited this happened and took 4 roles of film there. By the time we started moving again, my sister and I were able to sing the full song in both languages, neither of them English. Also, the only rolls of film that developed were the pics my mom took in Small World... out of the 7 rolls, they were the only 4 that developed properly. There were 36 exposures in each of the 4... meaning we now had 144 pictures of the same dolls and animatronics in Small World...and she got them in duplicates... I need to find that album, "Our Disney Vacation" is on the cover. That song became the stuff that nightmares are made out of for me.

i've always loved mickey's philarmagic, since i was little to even now as a teenager. it was always a must whenever me and my family go, and even tho im a bit too old to enjoy it now, i absolutely love watching all the little kids enjoying the show. i especially love to take a moment to look around when ariel throws the jewels at the audience, i cry everytime i watch all the little kids trying to reach out and grab them, it always leaves me in tears because kids have such a beautiful innocence and imagination that i just love and as for stitch's great escape, it was also a must whenever we went because somehow we all still just enjoyed it so i will always have this nostalgic memory of it but i also understand when people say it needs to go especially now that im older i can see a lot more how pretty bad it is

My best friend is a huge lilo and stitch fan and my brother loves stitch so the connection i have is that my family met stitch outside of stitch's great escape. And thats why i have any nostalgia around that atrocity

I've never seen Swiss Family Robinson but I enjoyed the attraction. Although I do see how it's essentially the line ride from South Park. Don't love it but the theming is nice and I find it relaxing as long as you don't mind walking up a little bit of stairs.

I would like Pirates a lot more if the drop was moved to the end and not the beginning, it seems anti-climatic to me.

Josiah Pait the reason why they drop you is because they don't have room, so they have to put you underground

Josiah Pait The first time I went on it, I was anticipating a second drop on Pirates that just never came. I was like, "....wut." I understand why there isn't another, but it still confused the hell out of me that first time lol

Small World was my mother's favorite. She called it The Dolls. We rode it first in 1964, later at WDW.

I'm surprised Pooh was on your worst lists. It's scenes are way more elaborate and cohesive than Snow White, Toad and Pinocchio in DL (this is coming from someone who's favourite movie is Pinocchio). Alice and Peter are spectacular though. I would say that to improve Pooh, maybe they could replace the track (maybe trackless), add animatronics, and make the set designs more detailed.

I also love the WEDway Peoplemover. I have fond and vivid memories of being in Magic Kingdom circa 1975 and 1976, and using the A,B,C,D,E ticket book. Rides like the Peoplemover and If You Had Wings were a godsend on a hot day, because they were 'free' and you didn't have to use a ticket to ride them. I can still remember those animated white birds and the air conditioning in IYHW specifically.

Lol I remember one time when my mom, grandmother and I went to Magic Kingdom several years ago, when we went on Space Mountain. My mom and I love this ride, and we had to get my grandmother to ride with us. She was not happy with us. After we got off Space Mountain, my grandmother was so mad at both my mom and I, she didn't talk to us for an hour.

They should change the type of fuel used for the Tomorrowland Speedway, like electric or some type of renewable energy, so it could be more futuristic, but still be the ride it was meant to be and remain for historical purposes.

Thank you both Peter & Steve for the video, your pod cast & your informative & personal takes on Disney. There’s so much content on the internet about Disneyworld; some positive & some negative. It’s extremely challenging to agree & disagree about so many topics. Unfortunately Disney is very expensive for the average person & family to visit more then once. I would love it if everyone could afford to be a vacation club member & go more frequently, just to experience it. My only hope is to take my family one day & stay at a deluxe hotel & let them experience what I was lucky to do as a child with my family. Thank you once again & I look forward to your next review.

My personal 1-haunted mansion 2-splash mountain 3-people mover 4-carousel of progress-relaxing cool 5-it’s a small world (yes I actually love the song) Honorable mention-country Bears jamboree. Was my mother’s favorite the week the park opened and has been a top for me ever since. Bottom five Alien encounter times five. I have never seen so many scared crying preteens coming out of any Disney attraction. While Stich is bad, it is 100 times better than what it replaced. No Disney attraction should ever be so scary that the average ten year old leaves in tears.

I actually DO have an emotional connection to Magic Carpets of Aladdin, haha! It was the first Disney ride I ever did! My family had been walking around and decided to do something with a short wait before anything we had fast passes for. Aladdin fit the bill and the rest is history! 😄

Haha! I am that ONE Swiss Family Robinson person! I love the film, and the book (though the film is actually better) and my son asks to watch it all the time. Its classic Walt, and maybe it has something to do with me being an architect and loving the idea of how they were so innovative with what they had, along with the values of prudence, family, and survival that Yohan David Weiss was promoting. I do think you have to know the movie to appreciate the attraction. My son was a little disappointed because he wanted to actually PLAY in the tree house rather than just looking at it, and swing on vines into a pool of water.... fight pirates.. but yeah... I'm that ONE SFR fan. haha. :)
