A couple of recommendations which fall within the budget range, in terms of bang for your buck. Nextool multitools - I have the Flagship Mini and it is better than my LM Squirt PS4 which cost 3x as much, I retired the Squirt after the scissors spring broke. It's scissors, Phillips driver and bottle opener outperform those on the Squirt, however the file on it isn't as good as the one on the Squirt. Blade and pliers head are even stevens. Wenger watches: models with the same specs as Victorinox equivalents cost about 1/3rd of what you pay for Victorinox watches. They also have a wider range of styles than Victorinox, and are generally understated and stylish. Swiss made. Joker knives are made in Albacete, Spain, the folding versions are a bit more traditional in design normally with olive wood scales, but they are very reasonably priced and good quality. Also Bokerplus knives, particularly the Atlas, have a fit and finish on a par with Victorinox, with slightly better blade steel - generally Sandvik 12C27.
The price on the Gerber dime has gone up recently, it used to cost $18, now it's anywhere between $20 & $30. I like that Kershaw Iridium, that's a good knife. I just received an Olight Otacle little knife, with scissors, bottle/can opener, flat head & tweezers. I keep a few Grimworkshop microtools attached to its key ring; fish hook, lure microtools & suture needles for repair, saw, file, etc. There protected in a wrap. All at a reasonable price point.
