Hi. I will be staying at the Gaia hotel in Basel which is right by the train station. I was wondering if the hotel is near the Christmas markets? Or would I have to take a tram to go there. Thanks

I know where your hotel is, you can of course take a tram (the station is right in front of the hotel), but a stroll to the Christmas markets on Barfüsserplatz and Münsterplatz takes only about 15 minutes. I‘m sure the hotel staff will give you directions and can explain how to buy a tram ticket. Hope you enjoy Basel!

I'm going to switzerland in 4 days & I just purchased the SBB Swiss travel pass. Do I need to book reservations for each train/tram I take? Or do I just show up & scan my QR code? Also will be in Zurich for 2 days, Zermatt for 4 days & I have 2 days still available any suggestions?

Hi friend, You don't need to do any reservations, given that you already have the Swiss travel pass. Also would suggest you to keep 2 days for Lucerne. It's beauty would surprise you for sure.

Nice list, I have never been to the Geneva x-mas market, but I agree with your other choices. Good to know: Zurich and Basel have Harley Santas riding - always magical!

Hi, my wife and I are coming to Zurich for a 2 day break to celebrate her birthday on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (hopefully not everything is closed New Years Day), do any of these markets stay open after Christmas until the new year? Thank you

Christmas markets in Switzerland has its own charm. Especially the Gluehwein and Fondue. But guys, I think you missed one of the very amazing and scenic Christmas market at Swiss Capital Bern. It's beautiful

Hi Guys, we will be in Switzerland 19-31Dec, mostly in Zermatt but we will finish in Zurich 27 - 31 Dec, can you make any recommendation for a family during those days between Xmas and New-years please? maybe we should hop on a train and go to Colmar
