I wonder, will you be making videos about other lesser known Katana but owned by famous Daimyos and General who really used it for battle? For example the swords that belonged to Honda Tadataksu who owned a Masamune sword called Nakatsukasa beside his Tonbogiri spear. Meanwhile Tachibana Muneshige who owned a Kanemitsu where he used it to kill an assassin who realized he was actually cut in half after swimming to the other side of the river to escape from Tachibana. Or the pair of Muramasa sword owned by Sanada Yukimura where he was using it during Osaka doing a raid on Ieyasu camp. Also Shingen Takeda own personal sword Kai Go

Yes they are… I have a sword made in 1988 by a Japanese smith who then called it “appliance cutter “ after splitting his tv with it. It’s not special or overly valuable. But the story makes it legendary 😂❤

6:43 it's more likely the lightning hitched a ride on the blade and bounced off of it hitting the tree

Even as an American. It Angers me to hear that national treasures were taken from museums and very likely melted or they're just up in someone's attic and they go oh that's Grandpa's old sword that he got from the war.

Anyone heard of a blade that when unsheathed must spill enemy blood or an accident happens and the sword takes the life of its wielder?.. is that from a movie or something

...and when Marko looked in the well, seeing he's death and that the time of the heroes had ended and the time of the Turks had come, Marko took he's saber, beheaded he's trusted Sharac (Legendary future seeing horse), so that he wouldn't do service to the Turks and then broke in four the best sword under heavens, so the Turks don't pride with it. Then, Marko lied and died.

Do you think the Muramasa tanto gifted to the late former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe by Vladamir Putin is cursed?

I bought a very old Katana from an estate sale many years ago. I paid $500 dollars for this old blade, a princely sum for the time. To my surprise it was signed, but I didn't recognize it. I asked an older Japanese man a worked with to translate it. He looked at the signature, grunted and said it was cursed and should get rid of it at once, but didn't say who the smith was. I sent it to Japan to a polisher I had worked with on a few other Katana restorations. He passed the sword along to another polisher because he didn't want to work on a Muramasa blade. That's when I found out it was a Muramasa sword and according to the Japanese Academy of history, it was made between 1620 and 1630. I got the sword back about a year later and it was absolutely beautiful. Strangely it has never whispered to me, cut me on its own, or anything else unfortunate they were reputed to do. It is simple a very old, very beautiful weapon and I treasure it for that reason.

I am sure you know the legend that it is the sword that picks you, I have heard of an Ancient one that will draw blood if handled by one it considers unworthy, 😑 keep each other in good company.

Muramasa Swords is pure stupidity. Nothing cursed about it. All what is said is that it is a well made sword that can be used with high efficiency. Tokugawa didn't loose his wife and son to the sword. It was him who murdered them. As the Muramasa was seen as a very good swords. Letting them committing seppuku with those swords was no curse, it was a blessing. But inventing a curse is the best way to forbit your not so loyal servants to have good enough weapons to win a revolution. I know Japanese cultural believes are different from Europeans. But the general rule says "cursed" means the item wants to damage it's owner. "Blessed" it is when it's helping the owner. Many of those weapons like the self repairing Hotaru Maru would more likely to be seen as a blessed sword. But I think these are simple culture and translation issues as the Japanese Demon term comes from even before Christianity came to Japan. Don't get me wrong. It's a really cool video. Thank you.
