@@HexManiac-nf1yg Still stuck to the past, boy? He went from a plank of wood to actually a braindead man. Though not gonna lie, at the very least he became a better character at the start of Alicization. Adulthood really made him change.
This is lime the 5th candidate compilation in a row I've watched I have never seen a single episode of any Master Chef season from any country So yeah, absolutely. It just hits a different spot
I kind of liked the fact that he had a similar energy as Eric Chong, a drive and a passion without forgetting yourself and where you stand in life. Two completely different people with different backgrounds, but both were just so loveable imho
@@TheChill001 god were they different. Eric had a good job and a career not to mention a young man at the beginning of his adult life. David a hard working older gentlemen that was thrust into a different field of work out of necessity. Yet both had amazing potential.
David's confidence is the standout point for me. The way he said "NO" after being asked about being surprised to have completed the finale challenge, inspires me a lot as a person, to believe in myself, just like he does.
@@lucyfraticelli8350 Both of you very valid points. Theres a fine line between arrogance and confidence, but david displays nothing that borders on arrogance. To do anything at this level requires total self confidence, and this guy seems to do it at a canter..
Not just him, his wife too. The way she says "you got it" to him from the balcony exudes confidence and faith in him; she knows he's won before the competition even started.
Can we talk about how David has succeeded in almost every way imaginable in life? He got himself a great wife that supports him and loves him and who he loves back early on in life, he has 2 kids who are also quite great, he gets to work in a field he's passionate about now, he won the MasterChef title and $100,000 and started 3 restaurants so now he's rich and has stable income. Personally I cannot imagine a much better life unless he won all of this earlier on in life.
I work at the restaurant David opened up with jrg in surrey bc and all I can say is he is such a nice dude, worked with him a few times just all around great guy
@@samaradashwood1491 jrg is alright, it’s like mid tier food. It’s a chain restaurant vibe because the cooks are usually younger kids who just started cooking. It’s not super expensive but it’s not cheap, it’s comparable to a cactus club
@TheDoge 777 I did not know using the word “cringe” was cringe and the fact that I just went out to ask and speak out my opinion and the grammar/correction police coming up me saying the word cringe is cringe oh damn that’s cool.
honestly she lost badly on desert bcoz the finale desert dish just looked so much better a cheese plate as desert IDK wouldnt be how most ppl eat desert so. Ultimately David and his boar with geoduck was also far far better. if i compare both line and david the only dish which line probably did better than david was the appetizer even thought it was modern and looked good it was a little bit too simple but david nailed the desert and the entree so no surprise that he won in the finale. also david was a far better cook overall absolute monster of a guy. tbh he dominated the competition also
I’m going to say it right now: I absolutely LOVE MasterChef Canada over MasterChef USA... by a long shot. The best part about the Canadian version is that the competitors are so uplifting and kind to one another. What David had to say about Line at the end of this video was seriously so refreshing. Seems like about 90% of the time, MasterChef USA just emphasizes the competitors going at each other’s throats.
Everytime David was asked “who’s gonna struggle, or go home” he would never say a specific name, even mentioned himself once. He’s really the sweetest guy
Guy had a sparkle in his eye from start to finish. Nothing but respect for him and Line who also did an amazing job. Hope he still has time for being a dad too haha.
I just wanted to give some credit to his wife. Highschool sweetheart, implying that they've really been together for a long time. And if he's been a concrete layer since 17? She's really stuck by him through what might have been his tougher times in his life. What a duo, it's almost out of a storybook.
Now that i think about it. I Kinda feel bad for line like everytime she competes with David he always wins like when line gave David the Ice cream mashine then he still won man. Wish she came back to Master Chef again like a season of second chances
David is one of the few men of this world that embodies passion, every dish he made he made it with of all he is and his inspirations. Winning was basically the end goal.
Imagine calling his family just to roast him, saying "Your father is an aspiring masterchef. Do you think he can make it?" "Yes, I belie-" "Then you better tell him to aspire to be anything else. 'Cause being a masterchef isn't one of 'em."
David is so incredibly talented yet veery simple and humble at the same time.. He has never thrown shade on any contestants, he's always let his work speak for himself. I am REALLY HAPPY that he won, he TRULY deserved this Validation for himself. 🤗💕🤗
David’s season probably had some of the best competition but he absolutely dominated. I enjoyed watching this season the most... I really wanna try his restaurant some time :)
David Be Like: My Boys aged 4 and 6 are everything to me Also David when the judges ask him why this competition is Important to him "My wife and my kids aged 4 and 5"
this man has a sublime ( to borrow the expression ) generosity, kindness, and feeling for his ingredients and processes his recipees from the heart,..with an amazing level of complexities mastered,....how ever brutal the challenge under short time ....thrilling.
Claudio: Are you as surprised as we are, that you pulled this off? David: No. I wasn’t gonna give up. Not today. No way. Probably the only time I got goosebumps in any Masterchef episode.
The "No" from David is more inspiring than any TedX motivational speech. It is the best example of what can be called as "Champion's Mindset". He never doubted himself even when all the others were. Truly inspiring ❤️❤️
Its like this guy is living in a dream world, great family, and achieving his dream through his passion, how few of us actually experience the type of happiness he does
15:56 Line looks like a villain who pretends to be a hero to spy on them and then when the villains and heroes go for a fight Line goes to the villain side and tells everyone that she's pretended to be a hero to spy on them
DAVID WAS DESTINED TO WIN THE SHOW FROM THE FREAKING DAY ONE! HIS ATTITUDE, FOOD AND EVERYTHING HE DID IN THAT KITCHEN IS FLAWLESS, ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! 👌
Masterchef Canada is my favourite Masterchef, I basically never see a contestant I dislike, I love how here everyone is still friendly to each other despite being competitors and I like all 3 of the judges, can't say the same for America **cough** Joe **cough**
David was actually a business associate/friend of my dads. It was really exciting watching week to week with a somewhat personal stake in the show, i remember when he won my whole family shot up and cheered. The restaurant he opened was actually only about 10 minutes from where i used to live and is really nice
It's ok I'm fine, his audition meal where he received his apron omg brought me to tears! We have all done things in life that may not have lead us to be able to pursue our true selves. To be afforded the opportunity and chance to seize it is one of the most beautiful things in life. Well done sir!!!
I literally admired that guy According to judge he has a beautiful family But I think the most precious thing he has is his golden and angelic heart He deserves the best
Chef Claudio: look at Michael's cake it is bluer than your hair. Chef Alvin:🤨😑nothing is bluer than my Hair 😒🙄 Michael:🙄 Me:😁yeah this is worth a comment for likes
I’m not doing so well in school right now, but seeing where David has gotten in life has really inspired me. Therefore I’m going to drop out of the 5th grade and become a construction worker
This man was a threat to everyone from the very start and took the master chef title like a champ. He never gave up and put his feelings in every dish. A true chef.
