I saw a video were a guy filled an empty room with all sorts of climbing toys for his snakes. His snakes loved it. It was like a theme park. I commented and told him if he lived closer to me, I would pay park admission for my snake and lizards to play in his snake park.

Love to let my baby roam free around the place. She's a Brazilian rainbow boa and will eventually find a small, dark place to hide, and when that happens I usually end up putting the item in the tank with her until she comes out of it. This is how many shoes end up in her tank overnight.

Well said! I always tell people these animals only know what we allow them to experience. So healthy to get their brains working!

I know not all reptiles like people but the ones that do like meeting new reptile friendly people. They look and smell different. My friend brought over a bunch of year old Boas. Just about every kid on my street wanted to pet or hold them. The snakes had just as much fun as the kids did. My young Boa is shy if she don't know you but these older ones just kept going from person to person. I made friends with his 7 yr old Boa. I must have been petting her just right, she didn't even want to go back to her dad when it was time to leave.

Im a horribly paranoid pet parent:-) so I got a large kids playpen and I put random things in it for the noodle boy to explore. He seems to channel his inner green tree python (he is a Ball...) he loves to climb. It also fits on my apartment balcony so on nice not too blazing hot days we sit outside...

I do the same! Our house is really cluttered, so I would be afraid I'd lose them. I got a playpen and it works great, and I switch out some of the items in it, and leave in some favorites :) Both my ball pythons like climbing! I usually have it in the living room and put them in during the evening while we watch tv. I'm thinking about setting up a larger outdoor playpen area on the carport, but haven't gotten to it yet. I just feel like the ball pythons aren't much for being out during the day. I also sometimes take my snake with me on my neck when I go for a walk.

Great video! I've been taking my emerald tree boas and green tree pythons outside to crawl and climb for a few years and it is one of the most enjoyable aspects of keeping them. As long as the weather is warm enough I will often "rain" on them with the garden hose or a pump sprayer after they've been crawling around in the sun for awhile. In addition to the psychological stimulation this provides, it also helps keep them from becoming constipated due to lack of movement, which is a common problem for captive green tree pythons in particular. 9/10 times the rain stimulation triggers a bowel movement within a minute or two of raining on them. The ability for them to get in some proper vertical climbing is also much easier to accomplish outside, it is difficult to provide in a useful manner in most indoor enclosures. One thing to note about taking them outside though, you always want to keep a watchful eye out for hawks, owls, or any other potential predators. Outdoor sessions are also a great time to take pictures and video, they always look great in the sun. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gO6CjHFRxLw.html

Great video! I have a question though. What if it's too cold outside? Would it still be okay to be outside for a few minutes or should you wait until summer? And should i be worried about my animal who has always lived in a sterile environment suddenly being exposed to the outside?

Great take your snake outside so it can slither around. BAD ADVICE to East Coasters. This is a great way for your snake to pickup mites and bring them into your collection. Fuuuun. This chick must live out west where this isnt an issue
