I've had all of these plants with one exception (I had eleocharis acicularis instead of parvula). In my experience, all of these were super easy to grow. Eleocharis grew quite slowly and ludwigia palustris had a thin stem, resulting in it being uprooted by our cories quite often. Java moss would be my favourite easy aquarium plant since it's fast growing and gives a great jungly vibe. The only downside is it can (and will) take over when given the opportunity. Avoid it if you have any carpeting plants since it could very easily outcompete them. Limnophila sessiliflora is great too. Extremely fast growing stem plant, super bushy and nice in colour. It's like a better cabomba

Nice video. My favourite lowtech plant is Rotala rotundifolia. I grow it without co2 and her colour is beautiful.

My favorite low tech plant is Micranthemum micranthemoides, "pearlweed".

All excellent plants, and experimenting with all plants is a large part of enjoying aquarium keeping. Java ferns are very hard to beat as my favourite easy to keep aquarium plant :)

I prefer Eleocharis pu...err sp. Mini over Parvula. It's shorter. It might be tad more difficult. I've got both Anubias Barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' and Ludwigia Palustris 'Super Red' in my fishtanks. I'd add Java Fern, mosses. Rotalla Rotundifolia also grows easilly (even without CO_2). I almost lost all the Pearl weed and Java moss to hair algae when moving, but few stems were enough to regrow them. I used to have Cryptocoryne Affinis, but i like Cryptocoryne ×willisii Reitz even more (sold as C. Nevillii), which makes compact shrubs with 5 - 25cm leaves. Then there is a thin carpet of Marsilea hirsuta R. Br. in a non-CO_2 tank. It's even more interesting emerse, because then it grows four-leaf clovers.

I got to stay I love any kind of Anubis and they have so many different styles. I would love to just create a tank with only different types of anubias I think it would be amazing. Nothing kills those plants

I want to try dwarf hair grass in my low tech 9 gallon fluval flex! I’ve tried Ludwigia palustris in it and it died back both times! I even started dosing 1ml every day like you suggested 🤣 guess I’m just not meant to grow palustris in that tank! My limnophilia hipporoides is doing great though! Thanks for the great info always!

Dwarf hairgrass is #1 on this list?? Love the vids and all the beautiful tanks but c'mon, hairgrass is not beginner friendly. Switch it with dwarf sagg and I'm on board.

Easy to grow plants, Java fern, Java moss, anubias, bucephalandra, and cryptocoryne. All of these plants can grow well in low light and are low maintenance. You don’t need CO2 or heavy fertilizers, these will all grow happily in low tech without co2 or fertilizers. Cryptocoryne will appreciate some osmocote pellets in its root zone, but that is all there is too it.

Trying to remember what It was I bought years ago as it grew well, did Eleocharis parvula used to be in the 1-2 grow range in 2010-2012 time period? I don't remember it having as long a name as the current Eleocharis 1-2 grow

Bacopa caroliniana is a way easier plant than ludwigia and I would any day prefer tenellus over hair grass. Otherwise this is an useful video thanks.

Hair grass is not a fast grower, it's a very slow grower. 3 months I've had mine and not much new shoots. My love grass however, was a solid carpet within a month.
