There are so many paper crafters and junk journallers in the world, there will always be crafters who come up with the same ideas as others. I have created many items and weeks or months later I will come across a video where someone else has done it. It happens. Every time you create something it is original to you, doesn't mean you stole it just because others come up with the same idea. Yes, give credit where it is due, but viewers need to stop whining and enjoy the videos or move on. (from Oz)
Yes I agree! Paper crafting has been around for years and years and years….and there has been more than several ideas over the years that I’ve seen others do years ago before they did. 😆 it happens…. everyone can have the same great ideas…lol…but I personally don’t focus much on who came up with the idea as much as the wonderful idea itself🫤 I’m just not good with remembering names unless it’s someone that I’m friends with or a devoted fan of their craft and follow them on RU-vid. I would just acknowledge that it was someone else’s idea that I came across on RU-vid or wherever if I create something I’ve seen and move on. 🙂❤️
A few years ago I did a City & Guilds Course in Design and Embroidery and my tutor said there is nothing that hasn’t been done before! I started journaling a few months ago and came up with the idea of laying out my lace, some which I had dyed, and photocopying it. It came out really well and was so pleased with myself only to find out later that it was already being done by lots of people 😂😂 xx
I love all of these. And yes, that person that left you a nasty comment is a troll. For awhile they were going from channel to channel berating everyone who crafted and leaving nasty comments. Ignore them. Some crafters even cried over it. What is wrong with people who have to make other people feel sad?
35:40 Loved this segment!! “Simplest of simple, let’s be honest”, meanwhile you’re wrestling with washi! It was funny, and so cute! I know this wasn’t part of the story you were telling! Sorry that happened but SO glad it didn’t scare you off!!!!❤❤
Oh brother. Save us from bristling righteous busybodies. They can move right on somewhere else. Rachel is also very good about calling out helpful critical comments instructing her how to do better. Yeesh. I just wonder how many subscribers the trolls have. Zero!!
Wonderful I think we all need work on those 6x6😂. Loving the tops videos these are great Margaret. And happy holidays to you and all your loved one much to you. Many blessings for the new coming yr 🙏 ❤
I really enjoy making envelopes with the 6×6 papers. I don't bend the top flap. I decorate with stencils and ink. Then add a note to the inside. Makes a great birthday or Christmas card. Fun and easy. Thanks for sharing 6×6 project ideas. :)
Fab collection of ideas in a single video❤! You Rock these top 5 and more. I didn't realize your channel was so young. Your videos were recommended on my RU-vid feed, probably 6 months into your venture. Honestly l, Margreth, I thought you were at expert level then. I have watched new comers and really feel for them as they learn but you always seemed to be on top of things. Well, Hon, your Mamma knew you were going places. I happy to be along for the ride😊❤❤ HUGS dear girl! PS... my top #1 pick of supply must haves: the fancy hole reinforcements by Elizabeth Crafts.
To be fair to it, that most watched project is genuinely a gem - it's a great way to create small organizer items within your journaling projects, and uses inexpensive materials and basic tools, and is a great little thing to do just sit and do when you feel like doing something really quite relaxing and simple at your craft table. I don't think I ever saw your envelope with a pocket video, but that's a really cool project, and it's so wonderful that Julie was so supportive of you when someone was rude like that - I really do love how the crafting community on youtube feels so much more like a big happy crafting family - the number of you who mention each other in each others' videos, whether they've directly inspired a project, or simply inspire you stylistically is so fun. I'm sorry though, as a Brit, I had to laugh when you said you were going to stop complaining - it's something both Dutchies and Brits have in common - we like to complain, and we like to talk about the weather! Two cultures separated by time, and only a day trip away! The original version you did of project 5 is still one of my favorites on your channel, the simple paper color with that complex and colorful washi tape just makes it look amazing. It really highlights to me how being careful in your choices of items such as washi tape can make the simplest of projects into something visually stunning.
Ppl need to relax.. I'm on 15 different channels and all do the same thing ..the biggest difference is the personality of the youtuber.. You can't claim one person to be the owner of anything .. creativity of scrapbooking junk is not trademarked ..
I'm so glad you combined these videos. I only saw 1 other one and I was making them along with you. I'm going to mass make them after the holidays because I'm still working on a journal for a Xmas gift. I love watching your videos but I don't always comment because I'm so into what you are making. I love your accent by the way. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hello ! From Canada . So very happy to have come across your videos. Very easy to follow. I enjoy making junk journals, fairly new to this idea of paper crafting. Looking forward to searching for your videos. Thanks for sharing !
All great ideas. That floral washi tape you used on the inside is beautiful💙💚💛. I'm hoping my favourite project of the year ( discluding The Gunthers & Gretchen, of course) made the top 5! TFS❤
The pocket stack using 6×6" is so cute I can't stand to be without a set, RIGHT NOW! If I wait to glue the ⅜" hinge till the brads are set, I can open the legs on the inside of the pocket. I'm at 18:28 and you have managed to get me out of my chair & digging into my supplies twice already!!!! I have an old tea box (halfway upcycled) like your washi tape box, that needs reassembled & stocked with my excess tapes. It's just waiting for me. Thanks for the double jolt of inspiration. Color me 'subscribed'
As an idea, if you want to have the full width of the pocket, rather than using brads, you could put enamel dots in a similar black or metallic color on the front to give the look without going all the way through.
Awesome projects! I can see why these are so popular. These make perfect journal add ins, they look fantastic and with your great instructions, every one should be able to make each one of these projects. Thank you for teaching us how to make so many awesome things this year. I have enjoyed all of your You Tube videos, you are blessed with TONS of talent. Thank you for sharing with us! ❤
thank you for the recap....love all the projects.....so easily done. you are a wonderful teacher and love the beginner project but also want to watch something more challenging.....looking forward to it. vivian HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!🎄🎄🎄🎄
These are all just awesome! I think everyone loves quick projects, especially ones that have such a great impact. These do not look like they only took a few minutes. So you can get maximum ohs and ahs! 😂 Love this end of year series, so many great inspirations to reignite! Hugs 🤗❤️
😂I think it might be possible that the 6 by 6 videos are most popular because we all want to use up and get rid of our 6 by 6 papers. 😂 Seriously, I have been watching your videos faithfully since I found you and subscribed. You are really good at explaining your process and your sense of humor is fabulous. You have me in stitches, with some of your comments. Thanks for sharing.
I run my glue stick over my washi "tape"..(more like JUST decorative paper..They shouldn't call it TAPE, ..If WE'RE GOIN to Have to ADD glue Ourselves!) ,or smaller thinner strips, just run it across my glue stick.
Hi from Florida. Just came across your channel and I subscribed with a definite 👍🏽. So glad that I did! I have a ton of washi tape and 6x6 papers (both expensive and cheap 😄). What creative ways to use them both. Ty for sharing. Your hole reinforcements-did you make them or where can they be purchased ?
How do you get to be so wonderfully comfortable talking to "us" so much? To me, it just makes your videos so personal, even though you are talking to tons of people. I could listen to you speak all day long. The way you always explain what you are doing, and why you are doing things the way you are, just makes the video so One-on-One. I mean, do you feel like you are talking to yourself, or did you just have to somehow condition yourself that many people will be watching? I probably don't make any sense at all. ❤ I guess I am asking how did you get to the point of being so comfortable? I ask because I wouldn't know the first thing about how to do it, as I haven't made any videos, I don't think I would be very good at it.
Brilliant, just brilliant. I love watching your videos and even listening to your voice. Your so 'easy' to listen to. You've brought me so much pleasure the last few weeks since I found your videos. I wish I could have seen you decorate the envelope and the little 4 pocket square. Would love to know where you got the hole re-inforcers from. Are they just paper ones? Thank you so much. You make me smile everyday x
✨🌟❣️😍❣️🌟✨ Iam loveing 6x6 bc i have to many 😅😆 And i noticed you did 7 in one 6x6 oml Margreth ❣️❣️❣️ You have done so many videos and it wad so hard to chose any besides bassis, iam loveing all you have done so much and thanks for shareing and the joy❣️❣️❣️
I’m working along with you on the first project. I am loving it but my “files” aren’t quite as even as yours. I’ll practice and they will get better. Have a wonderful Christmas
You will find that almost everything has been done by someone out there...just say "this was most probably done by somebody...but this is my version of it"...and forget about the incident....we're here to build each other up and to enjoy our craft.😮😂❤❤
Love your videos as you offer so much inspiration and creativity. Thanks for doing what you do! I would be a sadder person if I couldn't cut and paste paper and make pretty things. :)
Love these sooooo much. I taped down the back of the brads so it was smooth. I put little tags with little animals for my grandson to “expose.” Thank you.
You know even if someone has the same idea as someone else there will always be a unique way that person does it or explains it. I have watched one person do a project and didnt really follow along and then someone else and it clicked. Luckily we are in a creative family and sharing is what we do. I thank you for making your videos I have learned a lot from you and have changed and altered a lot of things to make them unique.
Margreth, I love you and whatever you are making. Keep doing the way you have been, you are so loved my friend thank you for the wonderful project ideas for our junk journals. Say do you do any slow stitching or embroidery? I am getting into that to.. do you have anything you want to donate to me like wool or embroidery on doilys or pillow cases or anything like that? ❤❤❤❤
