Yes, it seems to be a very very stable bit of software. I'm very impressed. I guess if I was going to do video work or the intervalometer for a time lapse I'd probably give it a go.

The intravalometer was why I installed it. Also, when I need more than three exposures, that option comes in handy as well.

That is correct, however afaik Magic Lantern does not support LUT's in-camera.

RAW files will give you better color detail, sharper images (because they are uncompressed), post-control over white balance, ability to tweak exposure and much more latitude when grading.

Hi, As no one else has replied to your question. You do not put anything onto the camera firmware! MagicLantern works from the CF/SD card.

You have to enable it in the module menu in ML. It’s labeled MLV LITE, MLV PLAY, MLV REC , I have those all enabled as they come disabled when you install ML. After enabling them restart for good measure and you should see more options when in video mode on your camera. Hope this helps

Okay so the faster the SD card the longer i can record in raw? Im asking this because i make music videos and the normal time limit for a video is usually 3-5 minutes long. Is that limit too long even with the fast card? so after i get the faster SD card and record my footage how do i convert raw to dng on Final Cut Pro X ? if you have any knowledge on ow to do it on that program please let me know i have searched all over youtube.

I don't record raw much, but as far as I know those who do use top-tier cards. I've heard they had to use Sandisk Extreme Pro CF cards to be able to record continuously. Last time I tried it with a Sandisk Ultra 30MBps card, it stopped after 1 second of 1080p RAW. To convert ML's raw to DNG, use raw2dng provided my the ML devs here www.magiclantern.fm/forum/?topic=5404.0 After that you can choose to grade your DNGs with an editor such as Davinci Resolve.

okay well i haven't started using magic lantern yet... but i use final cut pro x and every time i upload a video a video to youtube i don't have that full HD 1080p crisp look to my music video. Do you have any insight on what that might be or the cause. I think youtube takes away my quality

RU-vid does tend to compress footage uploaded onto it, so it's normal to lose some detail. DSLR videos are also known to be on the soft side, so applying some sharpening in FCPX should also help.
