Definitely getting alot of the Polk Baker duo. Or at least one of each as a smash draft if my picks don't line up to have a mid-2nd and mid-3rd for each. But, not seeing the sleep on Baker you all are saying.
New Expansion team in an existing 1QB Standard Dynasty league. Got Caleb Williams at the 1.09, Trey Benson at the 2.01, Roman Wilson at the 2.10 and Javon Baker at the 3.10... how did I do?
I don't know where I heard it, but the threshold for an RB to have long term success in the NFL is 5'10 205lbs. Anything under that, only short term success. Am I in the ballpark with this?
The problem is that the window is so small for RBs with Day 3 draft capital and UDFAs. Even if they impress in the preseason, make it onto the active roster, and perform well during the regular season when given limited opportunities, there’s a new class of RBs coming in the following year. Look at Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks. I had both on my taxi squad at the end of last season and I was feeling pretty good about it. Then MarShawn Lloyd and Jaylen Wright get drafted with Day 2 capital (2025 Day 2 capital in Wright’s case) and now Wilson and Brooks are likely practice squad players or, at best, at the bottom of the depth chart. RB has become a plug and play position unless you’re talking about an elite talent…and even then, it’s a battle for them to get a big payday when their rookie contracts are up.
