In this video I will show you the most common job interview questions that are asked in interviews at The Home Depot and help you plan fantastic answers that will get you the job.
THOUXANTALIBAN they told me there were gonna let me know today (monday) and some of the questions were something like what challenges did i have to overcome at work or school shit like that there wasn’t any difficult questions im sure you gonna get it
Just got the job, it was the easiest interview of my life. Super chill guy asked me 5 super basic questions about safety, customer service experience, time available, expected pay, and leadership/teamwork experience. If I can do it, you guys can. No pressure!!
I just had my interview today and got the job , Incase you guys want to know the question they ask , They asked why you would want to work with Home Depot, they ask about you and your work experience, they ask what the most complicated work experience you’ve had , what was a moment you had working as a team in past jobs , they do ask you what did you do in your past jobs so make sure to a list of things , also they ask what department you would fit best in , also be prepared to take a drug test .
Crystal Corona I told them because “well I do come here a lot for dyi projects & to get paint for my room home-depot has the best materials and knowing you guys are the largest home improvement specialty stores I would love to be apart of it ,also I would be a get member on your team “
I’ve got an interview on Monday. I’ve been unemployment for about 5 months because of Rona and no place wanting me. I come from working as a prison guard so I hope I’m able to get back on my feet and get this job.
I just want to come back and say thank you so much! I used all of this info. And got the job the same day as the interview! One of the most important questions was the customer one. How to handle a rude customer! Super stoked!
I watched this video about 2-3 times and practiced my responses out loud before going in for my interview today and got hired on the spot 😭 I literally start orientation tomorrow! Thank you so much for this video! I also used the STAR format to answer most of these questions. Questions I was asked (to best of my memory) Describe a difficult task and how I handled it How would I handle/complete multiple tasks Describe a difficult situation with a coworker or any conflicts Am I good with handling mobile devices and multiple devices at a time Describe a time where I had to work with others to complete a time related task
I have an interview Friday and I'm so nervous. I have social anxiety and it's killing me right now. This is helping me a little to at least know what to say!
I’ve got my interview tomorrow and I’m praying that I pass with confidence and ease throughout my interview I must put my faith in him and pray that I do well and I pray for everyone else going for an interview God bless us all good luck! 🙏🏼❤️✝️
I watched this video for my interview yesterday, really helped. Lol a lot of people had 10-15 interviews, mine lasted for like 45 mins. Ended up having a deep ass conversation with the manager for as to why social media is essentially breeding idiotic individuals in this day and age, and how mental health is catching more and more people off guard. Lol but anyways, they basically asked everything from this video still and expect follow up questions
I had a phone interview today! I got the job on the spot! It took maybe about 15-20 minutes and they asked me: how well do you work with technology?, name a time where you worked with a team and did you encounter any struggles, what is your availability, name a time where paying attention to details helped you succeed, and what would you do if a customer came to you and you didnt know what to do. It was very easy!
I like working at the Home Depot and I see why they are very cautious with really valuable employees. In the past I use to criticize their old method of getting in contact with their hq to get an interview over the phone because the people who call have random numbers coming from different states and countries in which made it difficult for me to see if it was a scam or authentic. But since I gotten a seasonal position, I want to become permanent because the people are really fun to hang out with their compare to my other jobs, and the job task I have to deal with is pretty straight forward and actually make you learn new things that you can outside of the job. I can’t really imagine leaving this job especially with the Pandemic stuff ruining the world and plus classes are about to reopen for most universities on campus this fall.
Got my interview tomorrow for the first time. This was helpful Update: I got hired for the job😁 they only asked 4 questions such as tell about yourself, why do you wanna wrk for The Home Depot, etc. Gave detail responses and they concurred with what I said. Update: I resigned cause to many workers were getting Rona can’t get sent to the gulag!
kwanr Because of COVID I had the interview through call, after the questions I was told the starting wage and offered the position and I said yes, then had my check in/training scheduled
I did find this useful I’m in the parking lot now with an hour until the interview just making sure I’m ready. And with covid 19 make sure I’m still on time after the line to get in with time to spare. update : got it
Just got the job (MET ) and these are the questions I remember: 1. Why do want to work for Home Depot? 2. What experience do you have using devices? 3.What is your experience with following safety protocols? 4. What steps would you take to follow safety protocols? 5. Name a dangerous situation and how you handled it. 6. What experience do you have relating to this position in particular?
I just got a job at Home Depot. Thanks. Some other questions asked in the interview are give examples of difficult situations and how you have handled them. Another one is give an example of a situation in which you have had to work in a group or team.
I have really bad social anxiety. I still haven’t got my interview yet. Going in on Friday for a background check and paperwork. I shall watch h this video every day up until Interview day!
I interviewed with them today they ask 5 questions flexible is important hit it every chance you get, available is important to them when they ask if you have any questions for them ask them about training I aced it start filling out the paperwork Friday morning, good luck to everyone on there interview,s
Interviewed on friday, he told me he didn't have an ASM available and that he would have one.call Sat or Sun. Sounds fishy but we'll see. Retired, not needing a job, just wanted to get out of the house abit.
Can anyone confirm if these question are asked for any freight position? I’m going in for the seasonal freight team associate and I hope these questions help. And do you think I’m overboarding it that I “KNOW” the history of Home Depot?
I had to take an assessment test online; haven't seen anyone mention this in these posts. Does anyone know if it has a bearing on getting hired? Reason I ask this is that I didn't realize that is was a timed test (you don't find out till the end) & I went over by 5mins.
I have a job interview tomorrow I'm nervous but also excited 😅 Update: June 05, 2020 For whose wondering what questions they asked me for my 1st interview (I have to do a second one for the night manager since I'll be working at night) or just wondering what they will ask you and what to expect 1. They ask you a time where you had to work as a team 2. A challenging time 3. If you are good with devices 4. What would you do if you couldn't answer the customer question. That's it for my first interview. I'll be back to post my second interview questions. I really hope this can help someone who has a interview coming up. Good luck everyone and I know you will be getting the job 💕
@@marquelsutton3024 just came back from mine few hours ago 😅 they are going to call me for a second interview since I'm working at night and the night manager has to interview me. How was yours ??
May God Bless You All Did you end up getting the job? I have bad social anxiety as well. To the point where I feel like breaking down and crying before job interviews.
I have my interview tomorrow I’m hoping that things will go smoothly edit: I got the job it was very simple and nothing to stress about. They asked like 3 or 4 questions that didn’t require much thought really.
Kenechi Bueze oh sorry I just got the notification but it was simple questions like “what would you do if someone asks you something and you don’t have the answer!” Or “when was there a time when you had to work in a group or team to accomplish a goal and if there were any Obstacles you had to overcome“ I got the job and so far things are pretty simple I just have to get the hang of the system
@@pedromendez8405 i know this is late but i would say something like, I don't know the answer to your question but if you would like to wait for a minute while I ask someone from my team or my supervisor for the answer and I willl get back to you. ( i know there is a professional way of saying that)
Applied for “freight team associate” unloading trucks at night, Questions were about how you work with others and how you solve problems. Interview took less than 10 minutes and I was offered the job. Went in today for my orientation and the manager already told me I was in his mind if an opening came up in the tool rental department doing small engine repair as I’m going to a tech school for diesel mechanics currently
@@cire8122 haha no problem. Job isn’t bad. You do find out though that it’s more than unloading trucks depending on the night which isn’t as fun but still easy. Good luck with your interview!
I wanted to ask does anyone know about centralizing interviews cuz I spoke to the company and they said they don't do no in person interviews just through phone so what should I expect on phone interview with Home Depot?
Thank you for this advice. I've got my phone interview this upcoming Tuesday! They got back to me 2 days after I submitted my resume so I hope that is a good sign.
I'm on a wheelchair. I passed the assessment on the online application they called me for an interview which I was beyond happy. Im pretty sure I answered the interview questions correctly but they never called me back. IT BREAKS ME INTO PIECES😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I JUST WANT 1 OPPORTUNITY. I DONT HAVE NOT 1 SINGLE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND. IM NOT A DRUGGIE PERSON, IVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING WRONG. IM JUST DEFORME ON A WHEELCHAIR BUT CAN DO AS MUCH AS ANYONE ELSE, I JUST WANT A CHANCE, IM PRETTY SURE THEY DENIED ME BECAUSE OF MY PHYSICAL APPEARANCE.
kartavya tailor They’re gonna ask you questions like “What’s your previous experience with retail?” “How are you gonna react to a rude customer?” “Why should we hire you?” “Are you experienced with modern technology”
Pass Me The Jin-gerbread thanks a lot man n wht did u replied wht i fee is they have some kinda algorithm if they hear that particular word they will hire u can u tell me wht did u answered plz?
So the interview went great. The guy was extremely nice and had a good attitude the whole time. They told me I would’ve been able to get my second interview done right then and there but the lady that wasn’t there today since it was a Saturday. They said they’ll give me a call in a couple days so I can come back and get the second interview out of the way. For those who want to know, I applied for the Lot Associate job and these are the questions they asked me and how I responded. *If you were assigned a lot of work, what would you do?* First, I would do my best to break it all down. Sometimes too much work can be overwhelming and can cause me to become unorganized. So in breaking it down I can keep focused on one assignment and make sure I get it done right and efficiently. Basically taking it one step at a time until I am done. *Tell me about a time when attention to detail was necessary to achieve a task.* In my junior year of high school I took a course called “Digital Electronics”. We constantly worked with circuits and wires and we had these breadboards in which we would input our circuit designs. But throughout the process, it was essential to make sure all your wires were properly placed in order for your design to work. Also, in my civil engineering class we worked with NASA engineers to build a prototype of a trash compactor. We took an old design that was composed of over 200 parts and we simplified it down to less than 50. It was a process that lasted months with constant updating that we had to do to our engineering notebooks with new ideas and designs we all came up with together. *Can you recall a time when you had a task related to this job?* Back in 2017 when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, my dad and I got in touch with this non-profit organization called 8 days of hope. Basically what we would do is they would give us food and we’d go around the neighborhood handing out food and water to those who’s houses were affected. We would also offer help to those in need. This helped me grow as a person in being able to help others, which is a major role for this position, and since my house wasn’t affected I just felt like it was my responsibility to help those who needed it. *Tell me about a time when you were faced with a difficult task and how you solved it.* Earlier this year ,in my Engineering science class, we worked with Trusses, which basically has to do with the support system of bridges. To me, this seemed like such a difficult concept and one that I couldn’t quite grasp, but after asking my teacher for help and going to tutorials for weeks I was finally able to figure out what I wasn’t understanding. I felt as if I was going to fail this particular unit but, in the end, I passed it. *Are you familiar with the basic function of modern technology like cellphones, laptops, computers?* Yes I am. In pretty much all of my classes that have to do with engineering we would use technology to help us build what we were designing. In my civil engineering class we would get dimensions of objects and build them on the computer and would then use a 3-D printer to build what we designed. *Now you realize that this job is going to require you to work in the heat, cold, rain? You will be given water to help keep you hydrated and you can’t wear shorts and you must wear tennis shoes, you could wear work boots but you’re going to be standing for a long period of time. Are you ok with this?* Yes sir I am. I played football all four years of high school so I’m very familiar with hard work under stressful conditions, specifically the heat.
Cierra Lee In short, no I did not get the job (you don’t have to read any further unless you want to) because the week that I was waiting for the call was the week that the whole country got the “Stay-at-home” order. After a while I ended up calling THEM back to see if they were still doing interviews but they said that with everything that was happening they weren’t hiring anybody. On top of that, they were actually letting people go and just forgetting about any new applicants. So yeah, I was upset with what happened but I know it was out of my control so I didn’t stress about it.
@@jayzee2634 Yeah I actually did apply again not too long after my last application. I ended up getting hired and have been working at Home Depot for a little over 2 months now. I was actually getting ready for work when I saw your reply lol
Hey man, thank you for this video! i just confirmed my first interview cor this coming up Thursday. Pretty excited, but nervous haha. hope its ok to ask, Has anyone recently completed an interview and wouldn't mind confirming if these are all on their question list? or shed light on any other questions asked? thx guys ✌
Interview today at 4 PM its 120 am Got the Job! (the interviewer was super chill and friendly. Asked questions like what would I do if I didn't know something; give an example of me when I had to teamwork with someone and other questions like he said. I used the word deescalate lol
16 and interviewing in an hour. It’s my first real interview, thanks for the video and all the people in the comments... I’ll let y’all know how it goes!
They never got back to me 😣 Mine was really easy tho. None of the questions in this video were asked, the guy was really chill and some questions were situational, such as, “A customer asks a question and you’re not sure what the answer is, what do you do?” Some other questions were “What is a time you had to work as a team to get something done?” “What is a difficult challenge you had to overcome in school or work, and what did you do?” Hope this helps.
If this is a first interview for anyone reading this, do not sweat it. It’s just like having a conversation except you don’t even need to have any conversational skills, you just answer questions. I was really nervous with it being my first real interview but trust me, it’s nothing to worry about. It goes by fast and after you’re done you’ll be thinking to yourself how easy that was.
@@CharlotteC98 tysm! I was hired! The interview is really easy! For me, she asked me these questions: tell me about yourself, describe a time where you had to pay close attention to detail, describe me a time where you worked as a team and what was the outcome, describe a time where you had to do multiple tasks at once and what was the outcome, how would you handle working multiple tasks at once, how would you handle it, what's your take on safety protocols, describe a time where you were faced with a difficult task and how did you solve it, how much do you know about working with technology? Are you comfortable using smartphones, tablets, computers, etc.?
@@jennazinone102 she really liked me and said that I aced the interview. I walked out of HR knowing I was hired before I even got a call back lol. She said she had other applicants to interview and that I'd get a call back next week but she ended up calling me back the day after my interview with an employment offer.
hello guys toady i had a telephonic interview and i dont thing my interview was so good so can anyone tell me when i will get result of that interview ??
Guuys be careful with the availability questions, I think that was my biggest mistake, so I think you might want to be honest with that answer because it can cause you some trouble when they give you your schedule
THEY ASK DIFFERENT QUESTIONS NOW i just got done with my phone interview and he asked things along the lines of.. 1. Tell me about a time you worked with a group to meet a goal 2. Tell me about a time you had to be precise about something and what you did to not over look things 3. What do you know about safety procedures
I got the job! These are the questions as promised: 1. What would you do if a customer asked a question you did not know the answer to? 2. Discuss a time when you worked with others to achieve a goal. 3. Describe a project that you have worked on where attention to detail was very important for success. 4. Describe a time when you faced a significant challenge at work or school. 5. Discuss your experience working with mobile devices and computers Honestly the lady interviewing me was kind of just seeing if she was vibing with me, they had A LOT of positions to fill, probably why they didn't ask me any of the other standard interview questions.
Thank You... Had my phone interview already, face to face interview is on the 12 of February 2020! I know I got the Job!! #READY Update: i got the job... Been working for a month now!! =)
@@teresamance8381 Hello Teresa, yes i am working through the COVID19 and they have put up glasses at the registers, so it wouldnt be no contact with customers. Honestly, i still think we are exposed to it because of the amount of people that comes in there. Im 6wks pregnant and i wear mask and gloves everyday at work... They provide those things for us as well! As far as working there before the covid19 i enjoyed it, still does its just we have to be extra careful!
I haven’t seen anyone ask this yet, but when Home Depot asked me for an interview it was just an email? I think normally you get a call, has anyone else gotten an email asking for the interview?
Had my interview yesterday. First a manager asked me a few questions such as am I in school and my availability? Then the manager walked out and a supervisor asked me few questions such as, what will I do if a customer asked me a question and I I didn't know? A few other teamwork questions. He said him and the manager will talk and if they both agree to hire me then the manager will call or email me
Amigo , Got the job, quick interview, had the drug test the next morning, waited the weekend for my results and started training and work on Tuesday. Been working since.
Austin Collins the people are very nice! The interview went great, I took the drug test and I’m just waiting for that to go through, after I have to go to an orientation then I got the job... they didn’t ask me these exact question but ones that are like it!
