Marsh heads with the poppy cork 😮 I find you get one shot or fish at the night time lights, if you get a good fish it blows the dock light area up. Good info Ca.😊
Nice! I was fishing a popping cork with live shrimp off the edge of the flats in Mosquito Lagoon just this past Sunday and caught a bunch of trout. One thing I personally prefer to do differently though is run a REALLY short leader under the cork. If I’m using live bait, then I do best with 24-12” of leader. But with artificial lures I prefer 16-12” leaders. I’ve found any longer than that and fish just won’t notice the bait. Especially if the water’s dirty
Great stuff captain! That click bait I think will work like crazy down here in south Florida. Some the sand bottom areas in Biscayne bay and flamingo for snooks!
When using a 4" jerk shad style bait under a popping cork a 3/0, 1/8 weighted twist lock is a good choice. Really, anything under 3 feet of water I use 1/16, 1/1/8 weighted hooks or jig heads, unless there's lots of current, then I may go up to a 1/4-ounce weight.
I was on the struggle bus yesterday bad. Found fish but not the quantity. Fishing water that's always been pretty clear but the grass was an issue but the main problem I was seeing was the water quality. I've been in murky before and did pretty good but this time I think it has to do with color. What colors do you recommend for that?
Seth warm to hot, dirty water can be low in oxygen content! That can be a major issue this time of year. But dirty water colors for me usually have contrasting blends like rootbeer/chartruese or purple/pink
