Great resources and content notwithstanding, your visual editing is extraordinarily pleasing. I love the spinning book display mechanism and page close-ups.
Thank you. Thank you, Thank you. I am reasonably new to the study of Apologetics and have found the resources, especially book choices and RU-vid channels to be overwhelming. Of the nine books on your list I had already purchased and read only two. The Universe Next Door and Reasonable Faith. I think Universe should make the top five because it is unique in that it presents the other world views which I think we must understand. If Reasonable Faith is intermediate level then I have no business buying anything that is advanced. It was a tough slog. I also purchased the workbook and plan to go back through it. I just found your channel today. I must recommend to others your Top Ten List of Apologetic RU-vid channels. I was only aware of a few of them. I commend you on being humble and gracious enough to acknowledge that there are others out there also doing a great job as you are doing. Thanks again.
Seriously, your book reviews are amazing. Loving the rotating table too. I spent a whole the other day trying to find the 'right' textbook to help me understand symbolic logic. Really glad you released this video
I LOVE your content. You're super awesome, Steve. You content impacted me a lot. Keep up the wonderful work for our Lord Jesus. May God bless you and your ministry. Much Love 😍 💕
"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." (1 John 1: 9) NLT Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am a broken person, in need of your salvation. I cannot engage the battles of this world, and cannot engage the spiritual battles. I come humbly and in repentance before you, with empty hands. On my knees, I ask you to fight all battles for me. Give me the insight and wisdom to listen, hear and folliw your voice, you speak into my heart. Thank you for having won all my battles. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
That's a fantastic book but I wouldn't consider it at the intermediate level of reading. It's just big. I will however be doing a top 5 list of historical Apologetics books and that will likely be on the list somewhere, even if as an honorable mention.
It's like reading a book by William Lenski about the Information Theory and how the origin of life cannot be the result of natural processes but of an intelligent mind... it's very compelling, if you can get through his mathematical mind xD
Regarding that logic textbook, does it pretty much cover all the fundemental logic symbols you need to know, or does it only cover some of them? Could someone go straight from reading that book to reading the two dozen or so arguments book, or would they need even more background knowledge in logic? Also, does it cover all the basic logic symbols listed in this section of the wikipedia page on logic symbols? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_logic_symbols
You could probably jump into some of the essays in 2 dozen or so arguments, but not all of them. Some of them are highly technical are not easy reads for anyone. You may have more luck with Blackwell, but following the step by step Modal Perfection Argument or following Pruss' flushing out of Liebnizian Cosmological argument and discussions of the nature of necessity isn't going to be easy regardless of if you just read a logic book or not
