+Edgar Ordaz one uses a line out or throw in (Union) the other (league) uses a tap restart. In Union 5 points are awarded for a try. In League only 4 points are given for a try. 3 points for a penalty kick in Union. 2 points for a penalty kick in League. Union has plays with 15 players on the each team where as league only has 13 players on each. Also in Union the ball is contested at the play the ball after a tackle and in league the play the ball is uncontested. Btw Rugby League is the better sport imo. COYB!!!

***** in other words the ball is always in play in rugby it sez up top that rugby and rugby league are different variations of the sport WRONG rugbysevens rugby league. american football are variations of rugby they are the children of rugby. rugby has practically been the same game with a few minor or major depends how u see it. rule changes since its invention soccer or football as it should be called is the father of rugby i love rugby union and rugby league but rugby union is far more a greater game

It's good to know that New Zealand is internationally recognized for something other than Lord of the Rings. Though I think rugby is a bit more of a sport in NZ, some people eat, breathe and sleep rugby

tyrone my friend if you want to start watching rugby league tonight is the night. i live in australia and theres big game tonight QLD VS NSW one of the biggest matches all year. the game is on at 8:00pm australian time. theres 3 games.... tonight is the first. if you watch you will not be disappointed!!

I played an American team in Rugby not too long ago. Nice lads, they were doing a tour of Ireland, we were the only team they beat, but our team had only been together for 2 weeks, so no surprise..

You know after 4 years of rugby and I'm only going to my sophomore year in high school, rugby has taught me a lot and one thing is when you're in the mode on the field you forget everything and just go hard. Its a really great team sport. You should definitely try it, I feel like you'd be an 8 man, or lock. Personally I love playing Scrumhalf.

Yay! Rugby doesn't get as much air time as NFL but it's a fabulously brutal sport. And have you seen the Pacific Islanders who play professionally? Check out the Flying Fijians and how quick they and the Samoans are on their feet. :)

I played rugby for my school team here in UK, our coach, one of our sports teachers was also a part-time semi-professional rugby player, and he broke his neck in a game once, he could have died but survived, doctors said he could never play rugby again. That's when I stopped playing.

I was huge into rugby as a kid. I was one of the original kids in my school's Rugby team when we just got our first team together... My mum forced me to quit after a friend of theirs son became paralysed after breaking his neck in a tackle. It's a rough sport.

I'm American I like sports like football, hockey and baseball. I think you should get into rugby though I love it! Watch one match of rugby union & one of rugby league they have different rules, tempo and physicality. I prefer rugby union though.
