West Edmonton Mall has 20, 000 empty spaces these days. When it was built it was spectacular but with covid and online shopping it's sure aint' what it used to be.

The Universal garages in Florida are massive as well. Disney Springs has three massive parking garages and one has a ramp from I-4 directly into it.

the best part about the WEM parking lot is that it's only at capacity for about 3 days per year, so you get a glorious, uninterrupted view of allllllll that concrete

I always wonder, how big the overall parking capacity at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is? Because there's some "grassland parking" a bit northwest of the track, which is almost as big as the oval itself…

Obviously my favorite of your top five is Disney. When you set out to build a gigantic parking lot, it defeats the purpose to go for any kind of structure. Structures imply density, and if I wanted density, I'd like in a walkable city. No, the only place appropriate for my absurdly massive SUV is a colossal asphalt square the size of Rhode Island.

Disneyland has Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures. They are connected and hold 10,000 and 6,500 respectively. Also, Dodger Stadium holds 23,000! In SoCal, we love our cars and mass transit sucks.

The numbers are a bit hard to pin down, but Gillette stadium claims to have twice as many parking spots as metered spaces in Boston. BTD says ~7,500 meters, making the parking at the stadium around 15,000 spaces...rough measuring I have 163 acres of parking split between the stadium and some of the commercial "experiences" directly abutting the facility. Of course there is another 6 acres for the employee parking too. The main lot at Disney world is only 113 acres, but there is a ton more at the lot complex north of the facility as well...

Parking garages are underrated. My city would have so much more valuable space if Walmart didn’t have a parking lot thrice the size of the building.
