Part of why the Marines don't change the dress blues has to do with history. Many parts of the uniform and its cut relate to true historical combat events. Example the high collar around the neck. The uniforms in the field had those to protect from sword cuts to the neck.
@@bartofii I mean regular gog shorts are like just above the knee, the silkies are the short short ones. I liked the silkies because we're always in hot fucken places so it was nice to breathe while you're PTing.
As someone in the Navy, yeah, the dress blues and whites are clean af, even the ones for E-6 and below, I believe the uniforms shown were chief uniforms, but I do agree that the dress uniforms for Marines are indeed top tier.
The covers, shoulder boards, cuffs, warfare devices, and lack of shoulder/upper arm insignia. Those are all the things that should tell anyone in the Navy that these are officer uniforms.
Tradition, tradition. I hope they don't. I was miffed that they removed the DI's campaign cover (hat), for officer training. They should have kept it. They did change the DI's rank. It appears that officers have a Gunnery Sgt as their Senior DI (SDI). That's ok.
My dad being in the Navy for 20 years that uniform brings some nostalgia when comes back home clean as ever still looking how he looked when he left with a smile and me taking off his socks after a long day so this specific picture of the white one brings a smile on a face and basically Filipinos would give their family the best lives so im thankful that i grew up with a dad in the Navy
Nothing beats the marines though, you guys make everyone jealous with how fresh y’all look at the military ball. Saw you guys partying after the marine corps birthday celebration awhile ago and even when drunk that uniform stays right 😂
Feel like the Pink and Greens would be better if it was more commonplace. It's so back ordered that Drill Sergeants can't even get them. Can't disagree with the #1 pick though. The dress blues looking sharp and the fit....🤌🤌👌. I will say the old army Class A's looked good if you were infantry. The blue disks and blue cord really popped with the green jacket.
they are so wrong. the pinks and greens were ONLY an officer's uniform. also during WWII they didnt hvae pins and patches all over the place back then. the enlisted had an olive brown coat and shirt and a mustard green is pants. the crush cap was ONLY worn by pilots who wore them under their headsets and and the belt on the jacket was ONLY worn by the Army Air Corp/Army Air Forces...
Literally the marine corps dress uniform is what made me want to join the marines, but Im canadian so I joined the canadian army instead, but still marines have an awesome uniform
@Cory Nydam Pretty sure in the short series "The Pacific" One of the marines said, "Why be a hero if you don't look like one? So I joined the marines."
Even our MARPAT looks better than the rest of branches even though it's the oldest (since 2002) and it's a derivative of the Canadian Army pattern "CADPAT" so you're not far. PS. Thank you for your service and Semper Fi.
That's the "Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier". That's the U.S. Army. Not Marines. There's a reason he showed everyone in blues but, Big Daddy in greens and not their blues.
@@samrester6254they said the Lincoln memorial, not tomb of the unknown soldier. The Lincoln memorial isn’t even in Arlington, it’s part of the federal triangle.
@@ryanwoodliff1282 Might want to look up where Arlington Memorial Bridge starts at. It's the same tour route. You view the Memorial and then walk across the bridge and watch the Old Guard do their thing. Glad I could educate you a bit.
When I was home between boot camp and Marine Combat Training my mom insisted that I wear my Dress Blues to my cousins wedding. She got sooo mad at me. She felt like upstaged the entire wedding. More photos were taken of me than of her in her dress or her husband in his Air Force uniform.
There really is something special about the Blues. I went to a wedding in my blues once in a military family so lots of people were dressed in uniform, except I was the only marine and I stole the show.
Lol that's pretty funny considering you had hardly even been active duty at that point, yet you were flexing at someone's wedding 😂 Marines man ... Lol rah
And with the Marines, every single part of their uniform is dedicated to their history. You are a walking museum when you put that uniform on and those Marines and trained to wear that uniform proud.
İt's a copy of the RM uniform. marine history? the blood stripe was adopted 10 years before the "halls of Montezuma". why in parenthesis? because the halls never existed.
when i first saw my brother in his marine uniform after boot camp it absolutely blew my mind at the time because i’ve never seen a uniform in those colors it’s definitely a core memory
Facts bro, when I saw my Bro in his Marine drip I was surprised, I thought they were gonna be looking like the Army Dress Uniforms. Nonetheless, mf was dripped out 😎
Air Force uniform has definitely gotten better over the last 15 years. It used to REALLY look like a mix between airline uniform and a leisure suit. Space Force isn’t bad. It’s just so different compared to the others, that it’s hard to get used to. They went futuristic in the design. Marines are still king of the drip, as the kids say
It's still the same uniform. The picture in the video is just a photoshop of the new Army Pinks and Green uniforms to make it blue. Ironically the original USAF uniforms did look like that. The Army was still wearing the pinks and greens when the USAF was established and they just dyed their uniforms blue.
When I was in law school an Air Force colonel came to talk to us about going JAG. I asked about the ugly uniforms. His response: "If you care about looking good in uniform, join the Marines." Honest man.
Marines are neither elite nor special, MARSOC being their exception. Only 23% are in combat MOSs. Their combat arms are no better or worse than the U.S. Army, BOTH are great. Marines are not more lethal, more smart, more accomplished or braver than other United States military service members.
Hugo Boss just cut and sewed together the SS uniforms that you (we) are thinking of as the best looking uniforms ever worn by humans. And whatever you call what wore them.
Chief, you GOTTA do a video about marriage in the Army. How the divorce rate is through the roof. And every couple days "that's not me, we will never divorce!". Wait till deployment lol
The only dress uniform that beats the dress blues is the nazi SS black uniform. I'm a marine and I admit that. That uniform was something special (the evil of the regime aside)
When the Army confesses the Marine Drip is beyond words, you know it slaps and it will never falter. Even across either oceans everyone loves the Marines dress uniforms lol 😅
Also, some dress uniforms of Asian democracies are deriratives of the pinks and greens. Japanese JSDF dress uniforms are basically pinks and greens cut with IJA green fabric.
As a sea cadet who wears navy dress uniforms dress whites get dirtier quicker (as long as it ain't bleach or something) you can't see anything on dress blues but they're itchy due to the wool so we don't freeze but the navy is making cadets wear dress blues in summer for a retirement ceremony Edit:thanks for putting navy so high
When my sister graduated from basic her and my dad were interviewed as he was wearing his dress blues and he would not shut the hell up that he was wearing his original dress blues and they needed no tailoring even though he had been retired for 8 years after serving 32. It was awesome.
As a non military person and a civvie . The Navy dress whites ( be it of whatever nation that has Naval Dress whites ) are the best uniforms I have ever seen. So pure and pristine. I absolutely love seeing those dress whites. Again, its just my opinion. The USMC Dress blues are quite badass as well
While pristine, they are such a pain to wear. One wrong move spells doom, and you feel like a walking glowstick. For lower enlisted I prefer the blues, they still have all the buttons on the trousers that make a box-like shape and give it that older look and the dress shoes blend a bit better with the darker uniform. But dang, chief and officer whites are so sharp
@@Styxswimmerwell when you contract someone like "Hugo Boss" to design your entire country's armed forces and political leaders uniforms the result will be something fascinating so yes I agree with you brother 🙂
@@MrUNCLESAM84 I've heard people talk about the uniform and the sounds it made. One lady from Czechoslovakia said the boots made a distinct sound that you soon dreaded and the officers had a sword that made a clinking sound with every step
@@Styxswimmerimagine how cool it’d be to see and hear an entire German regiment marching along the motorcade hearing each wave of jackboots stamping the roads.
Back in 2007, we had the dress greens. We didn't dare cross AR 670-1. We all sent ours into a local sewing shop where three Korean women did our medals (we deployed a lot so we had a lot of medals). Plus I hated answering the regs for the promotion board.
