This was my selection for the fact that these are not only mind opening movies but also enjoyable while watching.Leave your movie choices in the comment below.
Congrats on putting Waking Life on the list. It is a pity people are commenting all the other movies but this one. This means either they didn't watch it or didn't like it. Nowadays action, thrill, and suspense are what counts. And it's the most meaningful film I've ever watched.
Shutter Island is one of my all time favorites. A masterpiece with very special atmoshpere, and an academy award winning performance by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Hello, I'm young author, If you can, please, watch this top movies selection ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mUWzHDRwyIM.html. Thanks)😁
i would also recommend The Butterfly Effect. It's a chilling science fiction about a man who gets severe headaches that cause him to suffer blackouts. While unconscious, he is able to travel back in time and alter the past but this causes drastic changes in his present life.
Good movie I only think he would get headache after he read his own diaries of certain event then blackout in presence while reliving same event in past only now able to do things differently but effect of changing a detail in his childhood surged his brain with 10-15 years of memory on top of memory he had to (event-presence) in an instant !! Ergo-headache !!! But great movie, good recommendation bro!.
what's the proper word to express such feeling in a 1000 different legendary way, that proof agreement and disagreement? many likes your honor expressions, I do as well ,,, lo. / however those many could be also partial or completely disagree with your judgment, guess publisher happy as you brought 1000 engagement and added publicity,.
I Origins makes you rethink your life choices as an intimate partner obsessed with strange eyes. Lucy is where Inception meets Limitless, but with an extra kick! Robot&Frank is like that B&E gone wrong, but the friendship was all that truly mattered most. Waking Life is like that one acid trip you took on Spring Break and still haven't woken up from it, but you're still going strong, so who cares?! Shutter Island is like you're watching One That Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and The Shining all at the same time, because everyone used to remark of how young Leo looked like a young Jack Nicholson, way back when... Change my mind. "I know, except don't hold my beer... my god, hold my bourbon, baby!" x'D
It feels like the I origins trailer's second half had so many spoilers in it that it made me not want to watch it even though the first half of the trailer made me want to.
You should always put the matrix. But also Cloud Atlas. That movie might have been the deepest movie ive ever seen. You know how confusing it is when you grasp the concept
If you have included also animated movies, you should really check "A Silent Voice". THIS IS THE REAL MIND CHANGING. And also Interstellar is a great sci-fi movie, but rather than mind- changing is mind-blowing (in a very very positive way)
Ex machina is also a really good and mind opening movie, really explores the possibilities of technology in the future, same as Her by Spike Jonze and Transcendence. These movies are pretty relevant for future issues. Maybe not on my top 5 on mind opening movies, but still amazing and mind opening movies!
True !! those are my favorites :) There are some good tv shows too on similar ideas like for ex machina there is humans and for her it would be person of interest
Gattaca, The Butterfly Effect, Predestination, Memento, Requiem for a Dream (*caution* if you are a former user this movie may really fuck with your head.) And one I haven't seen mentioned- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Great movies definitely worth watching.
Define ‘changing perspectives’.. because i found there are sooo many movies that do so. I even changed my persepective about blonde girl stereotype after watching Legally Blondes
I origins connects different aspects like religion vs science that I liked it so much reading in Angels and Demons. The fact of reincarnation and love as a chemistry reaction yet spiritual connection. It's going to be in a high position in my fab-list. Let me share my fab top5! Each one of these movies made me change, understand something new and opened a new sense of emotion. 1- The Matrix 2- The Beach 3- Amelie 4- Inside Out 5- Freddy Got Fingered

Just watched LUCY-- thanks for the suggestion, I was glued to it the whole time and I loved it! Thumbs up suggestion!!! (Definitely earned a 'like' for this post!)
the list was quite good and there are some in the comments worth watching as well, but to me interstellar should be part of it, even tho i didnt like the visual representation of the 4th dimension if im recalling correctly.
i've never not opposed anyone in my life as much as now😏. That movie, no wait, that REAL LIFE capture is a once in an infinity lifetime phenomenon. MASTERPIECE🙌
I think I already watched 10 times in my life. And every time I found some little detail that have some connection in all those stories. This one really makes you think about the meaning of life and what you could've done or could do with/in your life. I rate this one 100 out of 10. One of my favorites of all time.

far better list... i think the guy who made this vid got the title mixed up ""movies made by directors when they were high" should have been the actual title.
Yeah, I think I watched it when I was up for like 36 hours and going through an existential crisis, probably the best time to watch it. Really interesting.

Hey I really like this thanks I have been having the trouble finding something to actually lock in and watch. I'm going to give I origins a try... also I can make a few more recommendations
@arsames1337 he was a patient. 1) thats why he had a phobia of water 2)his partner didnt know how to take out his pistol during the gate scene (cinematically shown when the camera zooms in on his partner struggling to take out the pistol, an leonardo looking suspicious) 3) when they were looking at evidence near the cliffs. The guards didnt take him seriously because they knew that the whole thing was a ruse 4) the other doctor during the head doctor's scene referred to DeCaprio as a "specimen" 5)the doctor's on the end looks disappointed after they've decided to lobotomize him 6) The scene when he shoots the doctor in the end happens but doesnt happen at the same time (implying that it was a delusion in his head) the other "twist" also comes on the end "Which would be worst, to live as a monster or die as a good man?" -Leonardo, this scene implies that DiCaprio knows that he is a patient and still goes through with the lobotomy because he cant live w/ the fact that his family died. If you dont believe me, or the hundreds of movie explanations for this movie. There are interviews w/ Martin Scorsese (Director) and the cast about the twist of the movie.
ill bite #1, #3 & #4 were foreshadowing by Scorsese. Fire and water are also a constant cinematic device. Fire is always present when he makes progress with his delusional investigation. 1) meeting the escaped prisoner in the cave 2) investigating the forbidden part of the prison 3) his dream when he met the fictional prisoner he was looking for Fire signals the viewer that it was part of his delusion Water represents reality and he blocks it out because he drowned his wife. 1) It rains during the night when he was confronted about his family 2) Scene when he interviews the lady who tells him to run (the glass disappears when she drinks it from DiCaprios perspective.) 3)they're in an island ( a clue that DiCaprio is only with his own dillusion) Also; "My IQ is in the top 1% of the world population" k Its ironic that one of the points of the movie is that "we refuse to believe the truth even though its in front of you." I guess you can argue of the meaning of it but there is an objective truth of the movie and the evidence stands for itself.
That once was true, but no longer. At this point, that "we live in a computer simulation" meme is well out in the world, so widely accepted that it can no longer "open minds." Physicists & philosophers now treat the idea as a serious possibility.

Thank you so much, u have no idea what effect it had on me ! "Origins" ...WOW P.S: Whoever likes the concept of past lives, can read this one of the best books about reincarnation which is nothing but "Journey of the souls - Michael newton".
Quality films: Das Experiment, Betty Blue, Magnolia, Requiem for a Dream, Mulholland Drive, Human Centipede (pre-warning for Human Centipede - it's psychopathic horror at it's best or worst as the case may be!).
I don't think the movie I'm looking for has ever been created. A movie that you can't just understand with a breakdown YT video. A movie whose writer doesn't understand either yet everything still just makes sense
The only reason I every discovered that film and actually watched it was because of your comment. Thank you so much. I recommend anyone who reads this reply to watch the first one.
