As an F2P, I have made one mistake that is still haunting me. When you want a limited character, BUY HIS SHARDS IN THE SHOPS as soon as his event starts. This happened to my Thancred. I did not buy his shards before I got him and eventually I fell 80 shards short of max limit breaking him. So for all those looking to max Ramza and Cid, buy their shards now! Next week might have a new banner so their shards in the shop will become rarer.

Even if you have to spend energy to farm the elemental things, do it in MP, solo it if you must, it is still cheaper than the equivalent single player map. Plus it still counts towards MP matches for the quests.

Good suggestions. I do really enjoy the War of the Lions quests having most of the job materials the event units need, and nothing that they can't use. I'm looking forward to the barracks customization for faith. Also, with Mont, do we even have other Earth units of note yet? Thanks as always

Always good videos; thanks for the info! To note (for Mont), he’s a nice “trick play” in disguising your guild battles. I’ve definitely shifted my tank focus to Englebert since pulling, but I grab Mont shards when available.

For summons I don’t mind the slow grind, I can build them up on hard quests. I can’t buy units from shops though, you can only get them through summons right now so I prefer units first then shards.

I was working on Frederika but dropped her for the sake of Orlandeau, and I'm currently working on Mont on the side. I prefer Orlandeau because he's more bulky and has more traditional gear to use unlike her, such as swords etc. I agree, it can be taxing to work on too many units at once.

As FTP i saved all since the beginning i accumulated 30k for Orla. First day is used 20k and wild Orla appeared. It was going to be Orla or quit. Now with that pulls i got mediena, federica and two times ramza card. looks like im going to continue playing.

I remember Brave/Faith from og FFT. I remember 99 Brave with Blade Grasp made a unit unhittable. So broken.

I have 5k Visiores left after trying to get Orlandeau on his banner without success. Should I continue to gamble until I pull him or just focus on Ramza and Gaffgarion?

The only shards I've bought with Visiore so far was for collab units. Happens when you get Thancred, then TGC on his banner, and Ramza on the free pulls. Even Ayaka hasn't gotten shards from the shop yet.

I'm new to the game and already my zanzan is maxed out in limit break from just a week in no money involved

The auto repeat function made grinding much, much more bearable. Biggest gripe still is how fragments of thought and prisms aren't farmable. Need more of those than actual souls for awakening, yet can farm souls at a rate of 1-2 a run. I can understand hitting a wall a bit on limit breaking, but having 2 walls in place when it comes to leveling seems a bit much.

Almost a week late but I want to say that I might have done a lot of mistakes on my account and one of the biggest mistakes is trying to get all the characters. An example of this is the fact that I now have 5 (no kidding) UR LIGHT UNITS. This is giving me a headache

I made all these mistakes and I'm still making them... :( SAD! and i have a LB 4 Thancred that I hope to LB5 if they ever make the shards available again.

I am a bit confused by the Bravery statement, as in the damage calculation or even in the description of the stat, it does not mention affecting physical damage, only reactive abilities. The Faith stat, on the other hand, explicitly mentions both affecting magic damage and reactive abilities' odds of activating when receiving magic damage. You can also find this corroborated by the in-game FAQ. The answer to why physical damage dealers are doing different damage can be attributed to many reasons: affinities: other character and esper, equipment, vision cards and as well as the level of these things. All of these minor attribute increases are further exacerbated by the % scaling found on the party abilities of equipment.

My Mont will be LB 5 tomorrow. It is the last thing I need to do to max him to 99

Totally agree with Mont. My Mont Lvl 99 with his Trustmaster is more reliable than my Thancred Lvl 60 and Engelbert Lvl 70. For a tank, he can move across the map more (even across high elevation) to get to enemies first and draw their attacks.

Is the Excalibur weapon any worthwhile using and leveling up? Compared to the other swords in the game.

Yeah man I love Mont, I specifically love how he uses stone throw in Arena rather than moving up getting my Yshtola killed he is playing backline even tho he has the Vow of Love. He is sooo good. >_>

I already pull Cid, let say the event has ended. Will the normal shops pop his shards again from time to time?

I can't speak on how much Bravery gives, since all my physical dps characters have it max from guild barracks, but faith gives way more than 30-40% damage. I took my Mediena from around 47 faith, up to 96 or so, and that alone was almost double damage (went from doing 650-1050 damage on blizzard). If you have low faith instead of just "normal" starting faith, the gap would be even larger.

If they ever made a FFT game, who do you think would play whom or who would you like to play what character? :D

P.s also a way to lower faith if that's what u want and that I'm not the only one experiencing crashes for multiplayer. I made my mistake and learned from it. Saved up 48k for oldmandu while having Sterne, Ayaka, Macherie. Pulled 11x for TGC with no luck. (Got the new VC 2x tho) Then made the decent sized mistake... Knew I couldn’t max TGC so went to just have Ramza even if I couldn’t completely max him. Should have stopped after 3... or 5.....or 8. But no... i was dumb and pulled 11x with zero UR characters. So as my crap consolation i buy Ramza from the 1000 coins from pulling. Next day get him in the free pull.... Basically 22k down the drain. (Besides the rank ups/gained visore from pulls and LB) Orlandu made sense to go ham early so you have max time to max out. After failing at that I needed to know to not pull anymore until free pulls were up. Live and learn.

Is it better a high faith? Or a low?

One mistake I made was awakening Frederika to 4 and then pulling Orlandeau then awakening him 5. Burning through my NRG to get the lightning awaken mats to finish him off (F2P BTW). I left Mont 2 awaken and I don't regret it. His stone throwing addiction was annoying me xD.

My mistake was trying to max Fina because she was a dps healer hybrid and everyone screamed about how good faith is and in turn Fina because she was the only character that could increase it. Everything I invested in her is completely wasted, because she's (practically) useless outside of faith buffing.. which you DON'T WANT TO DO like I was mislead to believe by early WotV videos. ONLY on magic users. Huge price to pay. I also invested into Aileen because she was my tutorial pull, and I don't like to reroll in games (eventually got mediena anyway). She is complete garbage until 6* awakened because she only has move 3 and no ranged skills. She dies 100% of the time in PvP before being able to hit anyone. These two units took so many spheres/shards/fragments and there's nothing I can do about it. And they took resources from other element units I could raise, like Mont (which I ignored), and Engelbert. Orlandu is my first 6* today (after converting fragments, don't @ me). I've played since day 1 and not missed a single daily login. And he's stuck at LB3 forever (level 79) with no TMR because there was no way to farm max shards as a F2P. Oh and yeah, the multiplayer crashing, which is finally somewhat resolved as of the last patch.. ALMOST TWO MONTHS AFTER THE GAME'S RELEASE. I didn't get any of the multiplayer quests done, so missing a huge amount of needed materials from that too.

My mistake was I played it too much and ran out of content!

Most F2P or light-spenders should really know where they stand in this game (or any gacha game). You can get Orlandu or Thancred or whoever UR. But if you can't max them out (gears, cards, everything), then that lv99 Mont is gonna kick your Orland-ass, throwing stone left-handed.

I keep hearing you dont need every unit.........i pulled for freyvia and got nothing. So can you be more specific in this tip? I got a bunch of basic units and thats it.

In regards to #1, I keep saying it & I'll say it again, if you are free to play, you should be working on what you started the game with until winter starts up. At least. Vizi is for the shop, not for pulling. Rainbow yarn spheres come in over time, but azure yarn spheres (MR) very rarely do.

I am thankful that Lucia will have some of her upgrade mats on her event, I am hoping to get lucky and pull one of her off my first 2k, so I can just purchase her shards in the shop. I maxed out Yerma, I dont regret her. She is a beast and I love her. I just wish Lucia wasnt also Wind XD trying to Awaken both her and Ayaka is like getting punched in the gut haha XD. Also Lucia with her earth eater is gonna eat Monts alive. No more of his tanky ass being a problem haha. If the game just let me buy awakening mats I would. Not the ones you can farm for, those I would spend all my NRG on but man if I could just buy say a bundle for like $24 bucks that gives 2 tickets 1 for each mat that gives 100 and we can only buy it twice a week I would buy those in a heart beat.

I'll continue developing Mont insofar as limit breaks and awakenings (because he's an easy TMR), but that unpredictable stonethrower isn't seeing the light of day in any content I care about. Too frustrating imho.

I just played the game a week ago and hahaha I made the mistake on going for new characters everytime I get my visiore at 2k. Thankfully, I learned a few days after when I joined a Facebook group. Damn, this game is soooooooo different from FGO. I mean bruh it's gacha so why is it not about collecting hahahaahah. Would have been better if the shards are used to level up their limit breaks instead. I mean why make the materials needed to lb and level up limited too huhuhu

This game is a crazy whale trap if you don’t know what you are doing. But for those who know how to properly manage their resources without falling to these common mistakes, this game makes spending money worthwhile.
