my grandmother put peanut butter on our burgers... 50 years ago. She did it to increase protein and save money on meat. She lived through wars and the depression in Quebec
The Dad's Burger, I can say from experience, is fantastic. Couple that with some great beer(from handles that change out daily) and some of their donut sized onion rings, and it's food coma time.
I will never get over how enthusiastic he gets when he mouth fucks the burgers, it always makes me laugh how intense he ATTACKS the burger with his jaws, love this show!!!....
Wow. Each of those was so well-made, lovingly constructed, superbly realized, that I hesitate to even try to make a burger that compares. I'm watching this AGAIN.
I live just south of atlanta and Fox bros is definitely some of the best BBQ I've had. Besides a road side joint just outside of Dothan Alabama that used to be a gas station. That was by far the best BBQ I ever had
The burgers look great. I would like to give an honorable mention to Lucky 13 in SL or Lucky's Iron Door in West Jordan. I love the Pig Pen Burger made with ground chuck, thick bacon and cheese. I have mine without the vegetables, I do have them add jalapenos. The spicy or the garlic fries are very good.
I recently got a peanut butter burger from one of my local shops. Never getting that burger from there again. It was a basic hamburger with cheese lettuce and tomato, and a spoonful of peanut butter on the top bun. Was very unenjoyable
I'm crazy about peanut butter and I love peanut butter and bacon sandwiches (the trick is to not buy an overly sweet peanut butter). I'd so be down to try that peanut butter burger!
Man o man, that first one. Rutlige and Guy food and cars two of my favorite shows and topics. Just throw in Sammy Hagars Road show and it's the perfect trifecta
I've made a pork burger before - it's hands down the best burger ever (with one exception: a bison burger I had while in Wyoming); I struggle to imagine the sheer amount of awesome that a burger made out of bacon would be.
I had some lean ground beef once so I had to add some fat. All I had was salted pork fat so I mixed it in and those burgers were awesome. Made cheap beef taste like dry aged angus burgers.
not a criticism, just an observation: two of the 'burgers' are made with Pork. The other three barely mention the quality of the meat; it is the toppings that make each one unique.
Guy is the man! I hope and pray that tomorrow I can finally eat beef again. Been 3 months. Not sure if it’s allergies or what but it makes me feel like I’m coming out of my body when I eat certain things. Ugh. This is some tasty torture!
@@Harry-Sachs I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah it’s made me learn to cook and bake. I’m about to bake 4 loaves of sourdough bread I made yesterday. And I’ve gotten really good at frying chicken and making fish recipes. I’m still fat but I’m healthy fat lol. Cheers 🍻. We’re still alive and that’s what matters most.☺️
I invented a snack I call "Goats Paradise" ; you take a piece of dry Gallo salami sprinkle parmesan cheese on it Then wrap that around a similar size piece of celery , then you could add a green olive in the middle, so with or without the green olive I still call it "Goats Paradise" as a ploy off Deviled eggs.
"How many bellies you doin a week?" "8-12" "So no 9, 10, or 11?" "Well cuz two come per pig..." I was going to visit that place to try the BLT. Now I wanna buy that guy a beer for making me laugh so damn hard.
Best burger I ever ate was at Jimmy's on the Pier in Galveston Texas. Unforgettable. Second best was at Jus Grill in Aurora, Colorado, avocado bacon cheeseburger.
Hay Guy I swear I can almost smell and taste the food on your shows it makes me jealous that I can't be there with you tasting alllll that amazing food
Surprisingly. He said when he eats vegetarian and vegan food 90% of the time because it’s healthier and not as greasy. But he said he’ll still eat burgers and stuff like that sometimes.
It's probably just kind of like the guy that done man versus food. He said that he had to almost be on the strict diet and exercise before he would go do one of those food challenges because you couldn't just be laying around eating cheeseburgers and pizza and then go into one of those eating challenges and eat a 10 lb burrito. So I'm sure whenever he goes into places like that he's prepared himself in advance 😎
I'm always seeing this 'peanut butter and burger' combo and my mind revolts against it, but with so many of these types of burgers on menus of restaurants, something has to be legit about it. Damn...I made burgers yesterday. I should have put some on to see what the fuss is all about.
Peanut butter is now used in America most often paired with a sweet. However when it was first developed it was paired with savory. Pb on a burger is pretty tame. Older pb recipes called for pb onion mayo sandwiches, which believe it or not are actually very tasty.
what zephyrwinkle said, On a burger it tends to pair really well, as it provides a sweeter contrast to the savory beef. Honestly one of the best burgers i've had was one. Burger chain nearby is zombie themed, and one item on the menu is the 'undead elvis' bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter and deep fried banana slices. Delicious, but...avoid eating it often, else you'll end up like Elvis yourself.
Start with all natural peanut butter. It doesn't have all that added sugar. Asian restaurants have known the secret goodness peanut fat(oil) brings for decades; most switched only because of all the peanut allergies people have these days.
