The first shiny I ever found was in White, when I accidently fell off a balance beam and landed in tall grass. I looked away for a minute and I heard the jingle of a shiny. It was a shiny Zebstrika. My Stoutland still had tackle and it was only one level higher than the Zebstrika so I used tackle on it. It was a critical hit and it fainted.

Pokemon taught me to use a frying pan as a drying pan in the rain :)

My top memory was in sapphire. Sapphire's battle against Kyogre had battle music and a slow menacing movement from Kyogre that made you think it was insanely strong. I feel like that's needed more, because in black and white you were pretty much expected to capture reshiram, and Xerneas/Yveltol were pushovers. But Kyogre took a good 3-10 restarts before you got him and managed to save your master ball for rayquaza.

I'll never forget my first shiny. She was a shiny Vulpix and I had caught her in Pokemon White, and I had transferred her to X and Y, where I then caught a shiny Zoroark, and then to Alpha Sapphire. I loved using her for battles and she was really good with online competitions, but my Alpha Sapphire decided to restart it self on me, and I lost all my pokemon... Including her. ;^;

Not gonna lie, I teared up the moment I started my Pokemon X game and watched the opening scene. Say what you will about X/Y as a whole, it was a magical moment for old Pokemon fans.

The moment in Black/white when you first beat elite four and you're going up to fight the champion, and all of a sudden N's castle rises up. Then, when you walk into the castle and all the sages stand there, i thought i would have to fight them all with my only pokemon that survived, an underleveld HM slave Beartic. Then, when the gym leader battle music began playing and all of the gym leaders came in, that is my favourite moment in ANY pokemon games.

What I love about Pokemon the most, even to this day is the sense of adventure and purity. The way everything is also good in the end if you try hard and show love to everyone. It's that what keeps me engrossed. I always remember exploring that first town and making my first team. Also, entering the Hall of Fame and the credits where you saw all your Pokemon and their names come up. I'll be honest, that tugged at my heartstrings!

I love looking back on playing the Pokémon games without the internet or anything else besides simply playing it. It added not only a harder feeling to the games, but a sense of accomplishment and like you're playing in the real world. Because, nothing tells you where to go to find something, you have to do it yourself.

My favorite soundtrack in gold version was newbarktown.....I use it as a ringtone

Recently, I got Pokemon Emerald. While training my Mudkip, I ran into a shiny Poochyena. I tried to weaken it but, the second tackle crit and killed it.

I saw a comment on a Jwittz video that said "I saw a wild pokemon that was colored oddly, so I reset the game. Has this bizarre glitch happened to anyone else?" Not relevant but yeah.

I would say Butterfree leaving, Pikachu "leaving" and Ash's "stoning" in the first movie would have to be 3 of a top 5 in Pokémon. I liked the style of anime before that and had watched several but it wasn't until Pokémon that I felt some emotional opening to them. An opening that now extends back when I go back and watch the older series that I'd originally felt nothing for. No piece of fiction had ever made me care like that before despite having watched a ton of movies and shows and having read tens of thousands of books by that point. To this day I can watch what's supposed to be a real person get eviscerated in some run of the mill horror and not feel anything but "Heh, cool.". Stick on something like Clannad though and I'm terrible. Some moments in games, like Galuf's death and the end sequence in Final Fantasy 5 hits me the same now... but I'll always remember those moments in Pokémon for having seemingly awoken something in me. Something that without which I don't think I'd be a writer now. It had been one of my possible goals since I was 3, but looking back at what I wrote during those first 7 years I'm relatively certain I'd have been dead in the water without whatever those Pokémon moments did for me. As for the last two, I would have to say finding Pokémon at all would be another major one. That was a rather important moment to me. To be honest, I went through quite a bout of depression (between late 2005 and early 2010) and it was Pokémon that got me through and continues to, to this day. As much as I register people are stupid making the world a terrible place, I can't imagine going back to the void just yet while there are Pokémon games to play. Nothing makes me want to keep living as much as that idea even if X and Y were the last. I've already played them all for over 50,000 hours in the last 15+ years, what's another 200,000+ or so for the next 60? Guess I can't really name a 5th. Not much even near as important as being the *sole* reason you're still alive and the most important factor in doing what you do, is there?

The original Gold was the first pokemon game i ever played, and seeing footage and hearing the music, damn, that makes me emotional. Pokemon these days is all about hunting shinies, having a good nature, good stats and IVs, and EV training. I miss the times where you could just catch pokemon, and not worry about if it's bad or good, because they were all equally awesome!

This video reminded me of all my nostalgia from my childhood days watching pokemon on VHR tapes. ;(

My favorite episode of the first season was actually "Snow Way Out." :P I love the feeling that Ash will always be there for his Pokemon and the same for them. That and "Cutting The Ties That Bind," in the Hoenn region.

I've been playing Pokémon for 14 years, starting with Red in '01 and I've never found a shiny, except for the Gyarados in Gold/Silver/Crystal. I feel robbed because I never experienced finding a random shiny without knowing exactly what it was, I can thank the Internet for spoiling one of the greatest moments in Pokémon, I guess I can consider myself lucky I found Red on Mt. Silver without knowing anything about it.

My most memorable moment: The first Pokemon movie when ash died. Like seriously I was a little kid and they made my heart hurt from sadness but then magical tears bring back to life and I was happy again. I still cry at that scene.

What about a remake of gen 4? I think it would need a 3D remake since to colors were super dull in the first one. I don't know but the colors were super dull even in the anime. Besides, I'm playing pokemon platinum and its really good but the colors are super dark and its hard to notice stuff for me. It took me 1 hour to go through iron island. By the time I got out I only had one pokemon at yellow health. Jeez I couldn't see anything. I had to watch purple rodri play because I was really lost. I think gen 4 needs a remake because it has a super good story line but the colors are so dull. If the colors were brightened a little it would probably be my 2nd favorite region. But gen2 is my favorite forever :D

What i will never forget is how hard the first gym battle against brock was on pokemon yellow, fighting with pikachu against him was super hard, i had no idea i could just capture a caterpie, evolve it to a butterfly at lvl 10 and just win, so i captured 5 pidgeys, spammed sand attack so he would miss hes attacks, then beat him with quick attack with pikachu, best childhood memories ever.

I still cry when I watch the pikachus goodbye episode the first time I remember the first time I saw it i was watching it before school and the bus arrived right before I knew ash and pikachu reunited.. I remember being so happy that my mom told me that pikachu came back.. There will never be shows like this again and I feel so damn lucky I was apart of it

I think one of my most memorable moments in Pokemon has to be the part after you beat Primal Dialga in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. That game just built up to that moment, and to this day, thats the only game I have every cried at. It was so perfectly sad and amazing and I need to play it again.

The most memorable moment in pokemon for me was the part in the very first episode where Ho-oh flew over the rainbow. I remember wondering what the hell it could be and it symbolised that there were other things to be discoverd about pokemon. It looked so majestic as well. I also had a dream as a child where i saw the golden Ho-oh fly over the horizon hearing its cry echo until it vanished. Then gold and silver came out and i immediately loved ho-oh and is still one of my favorite pokemon, only charizard (charmander) being my first ever pokemon starter having a bigger impact on me. Ho-oh just brings so many memories for me and its cool as hell and its shiny is even cooler, which i now own one at lvl 100. So yeah, thats why that is my most memorable moment in pokemon

Saw the number one memory, kinda had to stop myself from choking up at the thought of the episode.

My first shiny was also in gen 3. I remember riding in the car after leaving my grandparents house. It was night and i could barely see the screen (was on a regular GBA, before backlights were a thing) using the street light we passed every few seconds to help see what was on the screen. I ran into a shiny electrike... thank goddness for that sparkle or i may have never noticed the color change in the dim light since everything looked more grey. It was unfortunatly lost to time though... not sure where my gba pokemon games are or if it's still even on any of them...

My first shiny was a Onix I met at Victory Road in LeafGreen. It was like the 3rd or 4th encouter I got there. It's now a Steelix and always a part of my main team.

One of the things that made older pokemon games "more challenging" was exactly because we didn't have access to the internet and such to know what's coming up next and prepare for it by obtaining certain pokemon types and grinding for levels. Replaying old pokemon games now makes them seem even easier than the newer ones because I know what's next, I know each gen's changes, I know the levels and types of all gym leaders, trainers etc etc..

The sadess moment in pokemon is the song that places in the town that has the first pokemon contest in pokemon ruby, I remember I walked herd the song and got sad.

I SAW THAT SPLIT SECOND OF PIKACHU CRYING FROM THE FIRST MOVIE FOR THE NUMBER ONE SPOT. DON'T THINK NOBODY WOULD CATCH THAT. You're so heartless. I love it.

My fondest memory of Pokemon is a tie between my insane Lilligant sweeps on my friend in Gen 5 and catching my first shiny, the Red Gyarados in HeartGold/SoulSilver.

Some things I'll never forget are picking my first Pokémon (Trecko in Ruby) and finding 'my' first shiny, a Bagon in my sisters Emerald. I was just showing her where to find them and the first one I found (to confirm I was at the right place) was green. I was confused because I was sure tehy should have been blue and caught it on a whim, not knowing about shinies. My sister eventually gave it to me after we found out what it was and of course I still have it (fully evolved). So great.

My favorite memory was when I beat pokemon for the first time on LeafGreen. I had never beat it on any game before because I would just give up or my pokemon weren't strong enough. So I made the perfect team on LeafGreen and smashed the elite four. I learned a lot from that game.

I never had the greatest luck with finding shiny Pokemon, but that changed in Pokemon Y. First shiny was a Gurdurr, yeah not the best but did really lift my spirits during training at the Victory Road.

The reason you got second place in the bug catching contest is that you have to keep the health bar at a good amount or keep it at full.
