Your attitude is exactly why we have our pathetic ‘H &S’ police. Sure some of these working practices are dodgy, but they still keep doing them, and NO ONE in the film was limbless, or fingerless! These things are evident, from this and many other similar videos: 1. Pakistan is a country with very, very few tables. 2. On the ground is where it will be found. 3. The wiring in that first shop is for sure up to code. 4. Paintbrush bristles don’t need any glue to keep them from falling out of the ferrule. 5. Those gaming tables must be expensive - maybe as much as $4.

Being in Pakistan at this time is not easy, so you work as best you can. Some of what we have seen would never be considered for export, but some would. Schooling for 5 to 16 year olds is compulsory in Pakistan, it is free and provided by the state. So either the kids were on holiday or were truants. The products shown were better than some of the stuff that makes it on to RU-vid, thank you for posting.

So true. The use of even basic PPE is so very clear in this video. I mean, I even saw one mask (surgical), and a glove (kitchen)! To share among fifty people, but at least they have them! And their safety flip-flops are just legendary...

I think that a lot of inginuity goes into a lot of stuff these people make! Limited resources, not top quality matierials, however, the little they do have can produce something that is quite functional. When we were in Kabul in the Winter, the solid fuel stoves these sort of guys made were a most welcome addition to our basic equipment! Be thankful, for the little things folks!

I love all this guard less OSHA approved equipment. It must save a lot of time with out them. It's also good to see no one smokes here with all those wood shaving pilled on the floor and corners of the shop. Saves a lot of clean up time too.

It's a sub-culture in Indian subcontinent to help out your parents after school and on weekends, these are household manufacturing unites where every able bodied family member helps out and that's how most of these artisans learn their craft by helping their parents since childhood and that's why you see them working with next to no protection. In western context this will seem child abuse but in Indian subcontinent it's called staying away from trouble. My dad used to run Jeans factory, where me and my brother used to helpout when we were in school, but we pursued higher education and gotten jobs and my father had to shut down the factory because none of us siblings wanted to take over.

It’s amazing how people can do things, but then the sad part about this is they get paid by piece. If they mess one up they lose pay. I’ve watched documentary on these.. Everyone should have equal pay
