Thank you for this very interesting video. When I was beginning with the safety razors, my first razor was the King C Gillette. After them i get the Mühle R 89 and now muy dayli razor is the R41. Ok, i wish you a nive weekend and a happy new year. Greatings from Bernd
Merry Christmas to you too Heiko 🎅😊 You are one of the main reasons I am getting a Leaf Twig for Christmas this year 👍 I also agree about the Rockwell 6S, I always refer to it as a "modular razor" rather than an adjustable. I'd love to see your top 5 adjustable razors video at some point.
Good vid! The King C Gillette is smoother than the Merkur 34C in my opinion and the Rockwell 6S beats them both by quite a bit. I own all three. I’m surprised the Rex Konsul didn’t make your list. Welcome back 🇺🇸
Just got the Rockwell 6C. Love it! I shave twice a day, and setting 2 is so mild that I can simply use water as my only lubricant, despite the fact I always shave ATG. My second shave is usually in my car, and being able to use just water makes for a very simple, mess free experience 🕺 (re setting 1 - just too mild IMHO - waste of a grade)
I love my Henson and love the space age style. I also own a 6C and a twig with Henson being my favorite. I love old horse and buggies but prefer a new car. 😃😃
My favourite is the Design 94 aluminium razor. It’s replaced the Rockwell 6C (6 plate) as my daily driver. I have the Thorn and the Twig, but use the former. Love them both.
Hallo Heiko, sehr geiles Video!
I've got the same thing coming in the mail. I think I will like it. It's in between their 0.84-P & 0.68-P size. If your looking at them also consider the Lupo or SLOC. I hear good things about them.
The Leaf Twig/Thorn are great razors for sure. You should try and get the new Yates Winning Razor as it's mild but very efficient, it became my favorite after using it once.
Hi Heiko Enjoy your presentations but feel you are creating a false impression about the maintenance requirements of the Leaf Twig. I have had my Twig for about three years and haven’t felt the need to disassemble it for cleaning. Like yours, my Twig “squeaked” a little at first but lubrication with a little bit of mineral oil once in awhile is all that was needed. Thanks
Hi Heiko, Nice video! In my opinion, we can include as honorable mention even the Wilkinson Sword The Edge (classic with butterfly open doors) that is almost the same price as King C. Gillette razor but for the ones that likes more the mecanism of this.
I prefer to call the Rockwell 6S & 6C/2C a 'customizable' razor. I'm currently using a 6C and it's my favorite razor. Although I have to say the chrome finish didn't hold up well. Perhaps that's a quality control issue. It's odd to me you would rate the Merkur 34C as milder than the Edwin Jagger-type heads. In my experience its the other way around. Only thing I don't like about the EJ-head is the acute corners. The King C Gillette was a present surprise. You can't go wrong for the price, and it offers a smooth efficient shave, somewhere between the Edwin Jagger and the Merkur.
It is interesting how this whole shaving business is so very subjective. I experience less blade feel with the M34C than with the EJ or the Mühle R89. I just had a conversation about the twig and the Thorn, some people have problems with those, I find them an absolute pleasure to shave with.
Please try yaqi ghost (stainless steel) razor head (0.70mm gap), you'd be pleasantly surprised - mild yet effective and no skin irritation. (Based on my use with dorco red blades but i'm sure it's fine with more "agressive" blades)
Thank you for this great Video. I like how you explain the things. We can compare your videos with the canal from Jörg, the german channel Glatt rasiert… thank you for made this channel. Greetings from Canary Island, from Tenerife. Your Bernd
Splurge and buy yourself a Henson Ti-22 Titanium. It's my favorite razor for head shaving and is just as good for face shaving. It's a bit more aggressive than my AL-13. I have mild in both. The knurling is better too.
I love my Rockwell 6C and 2C. I am very happy with my shaves and I thoroughly enjoy the experience and look forward to shaving. Very satisfied customer!
I highly recommend not buying not buying the Rockwell 6c/2c. Due to poor build quality my 6c had an issue with the thread on the top plate and I had to be very careful when screwing the handle on. It eventually stripped the thread rendering it useless.
The King C Gillette was my first razor too. After I by the R 89 and my last was the R41. Last days I got the Knight Helmet and now I’m searching for the right blade for that one. I hope to find it. Do you know anyone?
That depends on your preference and probably your skin type. I can shave with it daily and get a smooth result after 3 passes. I have not shaved with the medium. I hope that helps.
@@SenorRossi70 don't own one yet. That is the problem with this hobby, to many choices and products. I would love to review all of them but fiscally that is not possible.
Cheapest price i can get for a Rockwell 2C in Australia is $70+. Postage to Australia is a killer. Europe postage is cheaper but US postage way beyond my Pocket. If Amazon Au Prime offers something postage free then product is a bit cheaper for US goods but nothing like the prices I hear quoted on USA You-Tube Shavers even taking into account the $ value differences .
