It’s rare but I totally disagree with you on this one. You say you’re not crazy about these guys and they’re below average defensively. Big pass! Only trade for guys you really want and don’t sacrifice defense. I’d rather give Outman another shot. Even Vargas. I know that’s not popular with most Dodger fans but why trade for players who are hitting less than they are?

Agree, just don’t see this lineup doing it in the post season when they will have to win 11 games when top pitchers will be all they see. I fear the same struggles offensively we have seen in post season pasts.

Lets trade for Miller and Rooker from the A's to improve the bullpen and add a solid bat to the lineup. Next, trade for Bichette or Adames to play shortstop. That will make this team World Series Bound!! Let's go Dodgers! GOATANI!

Trade for Bo or Adames. Move Betts back to 2nd. An outfield of Vargas, Pages, and Teoscar is a very good outfield.

Lars Nootbaar should be at the top of the list. He was teammates with Ohtani and Yamamoto in the WBC, and he's from El Segundo. I'm sure that he would love to be teammates with them again, and play for his hometown team. It's a win win!

@@classiccaps628 Gavin Lux is a SS playing 2B, Miguel Rojas IS a SS who has played SS, 3rd AND 2B, Kike' has played SS, 3B, LF, CF, 2B and 1B. We ALREADY have a GG caliber SS with Miggy Ro, and I think he deserves a shot at being the every day guy, but if we're window shopping, I'm throwing out India

We already HAVE a GG level SS with Miggy Ro and I think he should get a shot at the job full time, but if we're window shopping I'm throwing out India

The Dodgers are fine as is. They have so much talent it’s almost too much. The problem is the starters need to lower their first and second inning total pitches. 20+ in the first and 35+ for 2 innings need to come down. The problem is these hitters are driving pitch count by a high # of foul balls. Don’t need to throw pitches that don’t come close strike zone. Another problem are these half blind ups calling strikes balls, I see that a lot with Dodgers pitchers. I would put Betts back at 2nd and Lux at short with 2 very good tudors.

Sometimes you just have to try and work with what you have…you can’t have this “he’s in a slump so we need to make a trade” mentality like some people have…plus, you not going to have a perfect lineup, you have to try and minimize your weaknesses with what you have….

Doug, I love hearing your commentary, but IHMO, enough of the trades! I don't like what George Stienbrenner did to the game, just deal for the best player at every position. I like Gavin Lux at 2B and his bat is coming along. Mooky won't win a gold glove at SS but he's better than average. And I don't like the "trade unproven prospects for established stars". There was talk 15 years ago about trading Kershaw for Johan Santana. How would the Twins have done if that trade had happened?

Typical Dodger year. Huge payroll, young talent regresses at the mlb level, pitching staff is overwhelmed and injuries mount up. Buy up other team cast offs and hope it will work this year. It’s become very predictable.

Dodgers needs to eye or trade for a proven playoffs player and that’s Randy Arozarena and the way it’s going the TB Rays are most likely not to make it to the playoffs thus making him very tradeable.
