I've been meaning to put together my Top 5 Parfums de Marly list for a while now and thought that presenting it from the PDM boutique in New York would be perfect! Yvan is such a warm, kind, and intelligent person. I really enjoyed hearing him tell the history and background of PDM while we were at the boutique. That whole line is great. Awesome list for sure, you know I love me some Kalan!! 🎉🎉 Carlisle, Layton, and Akaster are in a battle as my next PDM

I just bought Layton, Layton Exclusif, and Carlisle, and have Oajan and Habdan on the way 🤩 Love this house because it brings quality and uniqueness while still impressing those around me and being a compliment getter. Also a lot of fragrances disappear quickly on my skin and these last and project. Need Kalan and at least one fresher one soon.

I just think that it is so cool that you interview these perfumers and companies. I love, especially as someone new to the community, being able to put faces to names, and see how the industry works more in depth. Being from the midwest of the US, I was not introduced to the field of perfumery much more than Polo, aftershaves, and Abercrombie and Fitch (nothing wrong with those, just very minimal exposure). Getting to hear the histories, and processes behind these scents is so fun and inspiring. I can't believe your channel doesn't have 300k plus. You deserve it, I love your work and humor and letting us hear the stories from the some key people in the industry. Love ya :)

You both have such charming accents. I have bought Herod and am loving it , such a pleasant, rich scent (perhaps my favorite tobacco). Tried Layton and while I like it there is something ‘head turning’ in it ... like an ‘unexpected slap’ that keeps me wanting to buy it despite it being somewhat weird. I am rather new this this fragrance world, have for years mainly worn Axe or Boss Bottled. Will try to get my hands on Carlisle and some of the others your mentioned.

They are hyping themselves all over RU-vid working with every fragrance RU-vid. PDM is a marketing machine. They do have some good scents though, although Percival is just a dupe that normally cost 20 dollars.

Huge fan of PDM and the scents they create (or replicate). Currently own all the ones you spoke about and couldn’t agree more with your analysis. With saying that, Oajan would of been a spectacular addition to this list. Warm, sexy, bold, pleasing ... such a wonderful scent that goes very under the radar for some reason. I would highly recommend it and consider it a top 3 scent by PDM

PERCIVAL: A fresh, slightly woody and citrusy effect. KALAN: A citrus, peppery mostly woody fragrance. 50% similar to Beach Hut man. CARLISLE: An earth, spicy, fruity and very oriental cologne.

Loving Kalan, so different from anything I've smelt! Own the extrait and parfum of BR540 and don't see the comparisons at all. Oh and it's an absolute beast!

n°1 : Carlisle (dark, sensual, irresistible) n°2 : Percival (king of fresh scents) n°3 : Herod (classic combo blended to perfection and so so comfy/gentle) Honorable mention : Pegasus, because I love white florals BUT it leans a bit more feminine to my nose and if I had to buy a PDM for my partner I would rather pick from the feminine line. Still a fabulous scent. For the feminine line (as a bonus) : n°1 : Athalia (summum of class and elegance, if you like iris. I do.) n°2 : Meliora (perfect white florals summer fragrance, light and radiant) n°3 : Safanad (sensual orange blossoms that you can't let go) I also want to add that the feminine line's bottle design is absolutely stunning

I have 3 of these 5- Carlisle, Layton and Kalan. They are all pleasurable and all serve different purposes. I don’t particularly like the incense smell of Carlisle opening but after a couple of hours, this stuff screams pure luxury. Kalan is what I find myself longing for nowadays. Kalan is number 1 beast mode, the stuff is fun and uplighting with that earthy smell. It reminds me of happy moments of my childhood when I used to go out playing around it the woods in late spring with fresh alluring leaves and rolling around in fresh grass. Kalan is king of my PDM collection at the moment. I hope I am able to continue to enjoy the stuff for as long as possible before I get bored.

PDM’s Kalan has revised my standards for all fragrances. Being a Creed Aventus man and loving Reflection Man, this fragrance has turned out to be a red Ferrari leaving far behind all the top notches in the field. Ravishingly dazzling touching the zenith of perfection, this fragrance is Exquisite and the best in the league.

I have a bottle of Layton, and have a decant of Percival and Carlisle and I can’t decide which one I like most. It seams to be which ever one I pick up and spray is my favourite, until I pick up one of the others.......then that’s my favourite.

Yes Percival could actually be the best summer frag (it is for me) because its fresh, yet has depth and character, and performs in the summer. I've tested in on holiday in Abu Dhabi and I can't think of a summer fragrance that smells this good + has longevity and projection.

I recently bought Galloway blindly but the first time I smelled it was better now after watching several reviews most people said it's more of a summer fragrance idk if it was a mistake to buy it

Great video! I agree, as a parfum lover I love Carlisle too. But for the most of the people it is just a screaming, f*cking strong, offending scent. Just don`t overdose and please, leave your home after a dry down, which is magic! Great video again! Thanks for sharing

Big fan of PDM, blind purchased Carlisle, been growing on me, now definitely one of my fav. Planning to get more, however, in the middle of quarantine at the time of this msg, they opted for a $20 increase across all fragrance. Difficult to digest this one, still a fan of their fragrance and think better bang for the buck, but not a fan of this increase!

I would like to buy Layton or Percival I live in central America which of these 2 fragrance would be the most suitable and wearable. I would appreciate you help a lot thanks

mjlv123 Both of those fragrances go in two different directions. Layton is more popular, but will definitely garner compliments. I think you’ll enjoy it. However, Percival works better in warmer climates.
