I love Lily Li. "Executioners from Shaolin" is easily in my top 10 favorite Kung Fu film list. She plays both a demure bride, fighting off her groom's advances on her wedding night and a loving mother, teaching her son the Crane Style believably and beautifully.
Lily Li has definitely been a real standout martial artist in the times that I've seen her. I think my favorite showing out of the top 5 we've got here is the Dagger 8 showcase, especially since I remember Wilson Tong's character being shown to be a MASSIVE threat in that movie, so seeing her give him the business for a change (especially before the main hero got his shots in) was really satisfying! I also like how suddenly her character in Shaolin Mantis could have ended the movie if she wasn't being so merciful to her daughter and son-in-law. With the deadly spear she uses, I think you could even make a case for her being tied for the best fighter within that family (at least, until the Mantis technique gets developed). Oh, and speaking of the spear, honorable mention HAS to go to what she does in The Loot; no spoilers to people who haven't seen it yet, but that blew me away. This highlight reel is just what the LWAC Nation needed, Dad!
The first time I saw her was in “Executioners from Shaolin”. I will never forget how she used the strength of her legs to stop Hung Hi-Kuan…from enjoying his wedding night. 😂😂😂. Great video.
There seems to be some evidence that a stunt double was used in the clip from Young Master (1980). Li states in an interview: "When I saw the skirt, I realized it was very long, big and heavy...How can I handle the skirt in such a way that it flares out gracefully?" ..."It was extremely hard to learn how to do it."(that kung fu style) "I had to wear that skirt to practice the movements...everyday...it was easy to step on the skirt...I'd nearly fall. Later in the movie Jackie Chan performs the same style with a lot more agility than Li. At one point he even steps on the 'skirt' and falls. The style, according to Li, "is informally known as 'kicks without a trace'." The above does not take away from the fact that Lily Li Li-Li was a talented actress and performer.
It should be up now. RU-vid has been messing with my channel from its inception. At first, I was getting like 60,000 views and then it dropped to like 1000. Then I get content strikes for the smallest things that other channels don't get a strike for. It is all very unfair and so I took down a lot of my content. But after some thought I decided that since they are censoring me, I should not punish my loyal subscribers and so I will be reposting some of the stuff that I took down and will just accept what the consequences are. Every one rates angela maou but i saw her movies hapkido ,lady whirlwind and the movies werent good not in story wise , the charecters are all unlikable no charisma wafer thin , the action us devoid of power you can tell its stretching your believability as the kicks blocks and punches and strikes of Angela against the geavy set men are all devoid of power and she would easily have been beatun up
