I've lived here in the City of Manchester NH for 24 years. I can say the local restaurants, antique car shows in late August, Granite State Comicon in early September, Baseball and other things like Concerts makes it a really nice visit. However living in the city isn't as you think. Jobs (most) only pay less than $15 per hour all the while a studio apartment can start out at $1000 per month. No utilities included. 2 bedroom apartments can range from $1500 and even higher in the $2000 range per month. Most homes are older thus have lead paint. And removing that professionally even with funding still cost more than $10,000 out of pocket. Nice city to visit. Spend a week in the many hotels. Make Manchester a stop over on your way to Northern NH but living here has continued to decline further and further each day that goes by.

Mass got rid of their garbage from Lowell and Lawrence and they all moved to Manchester destroying this beautiful city once and for all.It went from beautiful parks,calm,low crime,to 1000's of drug addicts and homeless roaming the streets, shootings daily,crime trough the roof,dirty,needless all around,robbing,and so on and on.Its really a shame when you think how much this city has been wrecked in the last 10 years alone

Is there a train to take from Manchester to Boston? and how far is the nearest Air port? Thanks for the great video
@LivinginNewHampshire
@LivinginNewHampshire 2 года назад
Thank you, I'm glad it was helpful! Unfortunately there's no train, however the Boston Express has multiple stops across Southern NH. One of those is Manchester, although the number of buses is limited. Your best bet would be the station in Concord or North Londonderry. That bus line brings you to South Station or Boston Logan and it's $19 each way. Manchester also has their own airport, Manchester Boston Regional. It's located right on the Londonderry border and offers a variety of domestic flights.They have paid long and short term parking, or you could take an Uber/taxi. I have videos coming out soon for both Manchester Boston Regional and Boston Logan Airport.
@eastcoastmodz5195

As of my post the bus terminal in the City of Manchester is currently closed. N. Londonderry Exit 5 is the drop off and point of pickup. From there you can catch a bus to Boston's South Station and a train south to other destinations. If you go to the North Station you can take a train into the State of Maine. Taking an Uber/Lyft from N. Londonderry will cost an average of $18 one way into Manchester. I have traveled from Manchester to N. Londonderry then to South Boston and onto places like New York City, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania via Amtrak. I've enjoyed the train better than taking a bus to and from destinations out of Boston. I currently live in the City of Manchester. We have a public bus system that goes to our airport. Fare is just $2 per one way.

Hahaha I have family near Tampa and want the opposite from you. I wouldn't live anywhere else in NH. There are plenty of nicer places in NH but the people... oh man. Manchester is great because you can get to Boston, the beach, Winnipesaukee and the mountains with a reasonable commute. If you have to fly back to Tampa often, or anywhere, its definitely easier being in Manchester.

New Hampshire is a great place to live and compares head and shoulders over all the surrounding states. Being able to go to the White Mountains or to the beach easily and on a moment's notice is great. It is really nice here. However, Manchester was once real nice too, but far from it now and literally worsening by the day. It's disgusting and I dread anytime I have to go there. It may compare well enough against other cities but as far as a great place to live, not really. Also, they have massive infrastructure issues laying ahead and no means at hand to handle it. Owning property within Manchester is going to become a massive investment liability. The only reward will be living somewhere that is gross.
@waynv1835
@waynv1835 5 месяцев назад
what infrastructure issues are there?
@stevenalias962
@stevenalias962 5 месяцев назад
@@waynv1835 Hi Wayne. I believe their sewer and storm water management systems are antiquated and long overdue for upgrading. Should mandates be forced upon them, and I see that as only a matter of time, the property owners would all get smashed. Add that to the social issues ruining the once beautiful city, which is undeniably present right now, it too is a ticking time bomb. Even if city environments are something you're interested in, which I'm clearly not, it is a super easy city to drive through and you can just buy a house in a neighboring town. It's pretty expensive here but it's worth it. Just avoid anyplace with mass transit.
@waynv1835
@waynv1835 2 месяца назад
@@stevenalias962 thanks for that info steven. did a quick websearch and found this: (is this what you're talking about?) "The City of Manchester is investing over $338 million over the next 20 years to address Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) to improve Merrimack River water quality. The city has already invested $100 million over the past 20 years to mitigate CSO activations during Phase I of this program"
@waynv1835
@waynv1835 2 месяца назад
@@stevenalias962 found this too: Combined sewer overflows aren’t the only challenge facing Manchester’s sewer system, which includes about 390 miles of pipes in the ground. About 100 miles of those pipes are more than 100 years old. “That pipe has reached the end of its useful life and could fail at any time,” McNeill said. “So we’re taking a proactive approach to address this old infrastructure.”
