I’m so glad I saw this video god bless you guys. I was so hesitant about Mexico because of the bad things you hear on the news. But after hearing you drive there was truly incredible I was going to Colombia but now that I know I can drive there and bring my stuff like Apple iMac 27” makes México the clear choice. Do you still have your Canadian plates on your car or did you change to Mexican plates
@Morelifediaries

Thank for watching and commenting :) We had ZERO issues driving here and we had our car packed to the point stuff was falling out when we'd open the doors LOL Like anywhere at anytime bad or inconvenient things can happen - please plan vigorously and use sound judgement. Best thing about the news is turning it off and living your best life ❤️

I used to live in Washington, DC. I got tired of all of the stress and just plain ugliness there. In May of 2022, my roommate and I packed everything we needed, sold the rest and moved to Bucerias, Nayarit. Best decision of my life.

It felt like I really needed to see this video. I live in Toronto, and been thinking about retiring to Puerto Vallarta in the future. Me too- have temp residency and have only been to PV in Mexico so far - planning to move to Mexico later this year and it will be PV or Puerto MoReLoS to start. It will be hard to adjust to the heat though- both my trips were in the hottest time of the year and it was about 90-95 F every day.

Hey Kathleen! Bien hecho! In agreement around all these reasons you have picked PV/Mexico! Although I’ve never been to PV, I know the pacific side of mexico quite well. Sounds like you picked a good place. As for tourists and prices, I was in Yucatan and Merida/El Progreso for 3 weeks in January - and yes, prices were much, much higher than expected. Not sure what is going on in MX, inflation etc, but it’s not inexpensive anymore. Cheers.

Muchas gracias Ryan :) glad you enjoyed the episode. Thankfully we're still finding local eats and shopping very affordable vs. what we used to pay in Toronto. That being said, like many places, Toronto prices have gone bananas these last couple of years from their already high prices.

We’re hoping to move to Mexico next year. What I would like to have information on (besides just words) is weather but month to month. I one it’s more humid than western states but I’ve had some friends who live there warn about the “hot months”. In Colorado I’m cold for 6 months! Love to hear from you on this.
@Morelifediaries
@Morelifediaries 6 месяцев назад
The weather is amazing in the winter time (approx 25-30c and sunny daily) - very hot and humid in the summer time (40+ including humidity and sunny daily and usually rains in the evening). It’s honestly some of the most consistent weather I’ve ever experienced in my life.

Comparatively speaking to other areas in the US? How many months would you say are bad? Do they have a spring and winter? Thank you!

@Morelifediaries 6 месяцев назад
It is VERY hot. We haven't done much travel in the states but it's basically like the hotest summer day in Toronto everyday. You will sweat as soon as you step outdoors. For me (Marc) it's tolerable - and I didn't move to PV to be cold. For women it's definitely more uncomfortable. It's very hot for about 3 months - the good thing is now when it's below 25 it feels so nice and cool outside.

35 year old canadian here. been living in la cruz de huanacaxtle ( 30 minutes from pvr) for about 4 years now! summers are not great, winters are much more comfortable! btw you can always get maple syrup at costco (the kirkland brand) and if you fill in youll be here for 180 days on your immigration form there is no visa to attain..... and if you go over it there is a small fee to pay at the airport before you fly out and you can literally fly to Phoenix, stay the night and come back the next day and stay another 180 days, you just gotta be out of the country for 24 hours thats all. if you guys ever wanna check out la cruz give me a response, its a cute little town and i got rentals with a nice pool close to the beach ! cheers

With all due respect: the term expat is offensive to most Mexicans that are not in tourist places, the right term is, immigrants, just like Mexicans are called in the US and Canada. Is like telling Mexicans that they are some how more special than Mexicans when living in Mexico. The reason why people from the US started to used the nonsense none factual label of expat, it is because they have given the term, immigrant, a negative connotation and they don't want to be associated with it (even though they are descendents of immigrants 🤣). No hate, just asking for due respect ✌️
@Morelifediaries
@Morelifediaries Год назад
Hi thanks for watching and commenting 😊 It’s our understanding that expats are non permanent residents and immigrants are permanent residents. Although our goal is to become immigrants to this beautiful country we only have our temporary residency at the moment (as it’s not permanent would this fit the expat definition?). In all cases WE prefer immigrant and our intentions are to become immigrants in Mexico.
@chasingtheAmericanDream
@chasingtheAmericanDream Год назад
With all due respect, they ARE EXPATS. They said that they would be frequently going back and visiting the states and they still have their citizenship. They are not immigrants because the definition of immigrant is someone who does NOT intend to go back to their home country. Look up the definition and leave this nice couple alone. People need to stop getting offensive over something that is so silly 🙄 Have a good day!
