@@Greendyes_E if your RC car is electric, then FE will sound like it. if your RC car has a combustion engine, then thats how that sounds. what do you expect?
Ha ok fan boost is not what I thought it was.... my bad. That's ridiculous. Kinda like the massive bonus that ONLY ferrari gets in F1 but some how even more ridiculous.
12 winners in 15 races ... Man how much more fun would the F1 season be if merc and hamilton didn't clinch the championship halfway into the season lol.
That's Gerome d'ambrosio in the indian Mahindra team. If i remember correctly he was pushed from behind by one of the DS Techeetah cars there Ps: why am i 10 months late? Thanks RU-vid algorithm! smh
I like the idea of attack boosting. Fan boosting though, not so much. Maybe take fan boosting out and put hovering boxes with miscellaneous items, like a red shell or bananas, and I’m a watcher!
As a new sport in an era where social media exists I can understand why they are doing fan boost, but I think it's idiotic and should be done away with. I think some good ways to engage with fans by letting them have race input would be voting on things like attack mode duration in the lead up to a race or on minor alterations to a circuit layout(where possible) during the pre-season. Both keep the teams on their toes and let the fans have some real input without giving anyone a clear advantage. You could even have drivers vote to keep or reset a track alteration after the season and over the years fans could watch some of the circuits evolve.
At best fan boost could be used to determine the starting positions. Getting 60 horses in a 240 horse power track toy just because you're more popular is an elitist advantage. People love rooting for the underdog and this directly undermines that.
@@ARTEMISXIX "People love rooting for the underdog" I wouldnt bet my life on it. Some fans may love it, and some other fans may not. The problem is that we dont really know who is the majority here.
@@Jack-fd8cx not really, if we just did that it would've delayed the millions of deaths or even prevented many. look at how Japan handled it (no lockdowns, but almost everyone wore masks & social distanced - VERY few deaths, almost 9x less deaths per person)
I think it's just there to get fans more involved and watching to grow the brand, in a few more seasons when the next gen car (probably faster and with more range, again) comes there will be a couple races at famous racetracks and they'll get rid of fan boost.
The road tires, the shitty circuits and the fan boost are all the reasons why I don’t like watching Fe. If ur tired of watching F1 and want something else, try IndyCar. This series has serious issues
@@xxjer23xx91 I'm not saying that it's THAT much entertaining (i'm not really a fan of street circuits and walled courses) but it's definitely more 'fair' in terms of car. Then again F1 is also a race for a more technologically advanced cars and Mercedes got it figured so kudos to them. Also, last F1 race was the most entertaining race recently, with just pure hard racing and strategy. That's what i wanted to see.
Yep that energy management, I learned the hard way today doing 20 lap stint at Zandvoort. I made it 19.3 laps. I was fending off the Mahindra cars. I kept having to use all my power.
The energy management while fighting off the opposition is what makes things so interesting. Plus, at home, you get to see what the battery levels are for each car, so you can see when it's getting close at the end. One of the first races I saw hooked me because of that., but I don't recall which race it was. What happened was there were 2 cars in 5th and 6th who had about 4% battery left after the 45 minutes, while the two lead cars were at around 1.5-2% when they took the white flag. The two trailing cars managed to both pass the drivers in 3rd and 4th (I believe they may have also had an attack boost left), and then the lead cars ran out of battery on the final lap. So what happened was 1-2 and 5-6 legit switched places on the final lap, which was a WILD ride to watch at home. Every since then, I've tuned in whenever I've seen it on.
@@loriumartinez it might be common in FE, but it is still funny seeing cars riding fewer than 3 inches from the ground, roll over the others like a monster truck
@@Ben.N maybe you want to learn something first about the halo before you make these kind of comments. They are part of the crash structure and can take a lot of force, multiple Londen busses.
@@alecbramlett hmmm interesting, somehow he managed to get a WRC2 championship and score some wins in WRC but still some looser online thinks he's cool by bashing him xD
What are you talking about?? I've never felt a heartbreak *AND* an adrenaline rush as when I realized the ending of reach.. Remember, Spartans never die, they're MIA. Miss you Noble Team :'(
Never forget Reach man. That was the first Halo I ever played, will always hold a special place in my heart There was a time where to me Reach was all there is to Halo with Master Chief being a side character
@@Jack-fd8cx people finding all sorts of reason to hate on FE, if F1 had an action packed race then the world is hyped but FE has action packed races and wow it’s a shit show apparently, I don’t understand sometimes man
@@davester5234 Exactly. I watched a few formula e races and they’re were actually good and action packed. I think the reason people hate Formula e is because of the sound of the engine. If they don’t like the sound then they should be preoccupied with the racing.
@@samsea0489 I know, and the thing is the sounds aren’t even that bad. FE is obviously very different sounding and quiet but I like the sounds, no need to hate on something for being different.
If anyone has any doubts after watching this (great) vid, go watch the Monaco FE vs Monaco F1 races. FE was an unbelievable race and you could see how the Attack mode options came into play. Overtaking at almost every corner, last-lap pass for the win, really amazing. F1 is fun to watch for other reasons but yeah, I’m sold on FE. (maybe get rid of fanboost now tho, lol!)
We definitely need to see jet-engine powered hovercraft races in the desert! The technology exists today, by hovercraft I mean the kind with very large fans pushing air continuously through giant plastic bags on the bottom. Simply add a small, gimbaled turbojet engine (or a few of them) to the top structure of the hovercraft and *BOOM* you have real-world F-Zero racing! I would *love* to watch that type of racing!
They've also just started uploading this seasons full races to their RU-vid channel well worth a watch even if you've never watched it before, plenty of good tracks and drivers are always over taking
Lol, you should have seen the track we had in London in Battersea Park in the first two seasons...It was all on a narrow ring road in the park, not only that but the road was crowned in the middle, so passing was extremely difficult. If you didn't qualify on pole, you were pretty much stuck behind unless you crashed into the car in front, which happened regularly...
@@GeriatricFan1963 Ikr. Having a bumper break off is ok, but seeing a steering axle break off on these cars, not so good. You're pretty much out of the race when that happens.
As much as I enjoy street course racing, I would love to see the Formula E cars racing on some permanent race tracks at least a couple of times per season. Like Laguna Seca for instance. That track and those cars seem like a match made in heaven.
This is pretty interesting new motorsport BUT I can't help but think that if there's such a huge variety in the drivers who reach podium there may be too much random shit going on? That it's not that much down to who is the most skilled driver but to who just happens to avoid getting rear-ended this time.
I agree. I had hoped he was a real man and not a self promoter like James but it turns out he's a soi boi. Shoving this E shit in our faces and telling us it's steak. No, Soi Boi. E racing is shit. That is why they have to give away free tickets and no one shows up. That is why they have stupid gimmicks that make it even more stupid. E racing is pushed by the EU to control the masses ... to limit mobility by being shackled by the electric grid. If u try to stand for your rights, they will turn off ur electricity and send a wireless signal to disable ur E car. This is slavery and genocide. If u cannot see it then your are ignorant of history.
fan boost is lame :( got some iconic drivers who werent very liked until they won again and again. harder to win with a popularity disadvantage. gonna become a game of politics
It's only 5 seconds and it really hasn't changed the results of the races much. Vandoorne topped the polls but often by the time it was available to be used, he was out of the race anyway.
Formula E is pretty awesome, I'll give ya that but...... The Beastly vibe of the Formula 1 is one thing it just doesn't cover up. The tiny tracks, the quiet cars, all that bumping.... I honestly hoped for more.
If i want to watch raw power, i watch some RU-vid car content. If i want to watch proper, brilliant racing, i watch Formula E. F1 is heavyweight boxing, FE is UFC.
FRIGGIN FIRST! Finally you talking of the most underrated series on the world. If you have the chance to attend a race on your country/city, please do it. You won't regret
a much better example of running out of energy was Pascal Wehrlein in mexico city, he ran out just before the finish line on the final lap in first place and was immediately passed by Lucas Di Grassi
ALL41 of course it is, but I just found it really clever how he caught both Nolans in one go!👍 I definitely wouldn’t have put them together but that’s why I’m good at facts but terrible at comedy!😞😞😞
DUDE! New reason to watch Formula E, That Mahindra car just pulling a monster truck move and driving over the wrecked cars. That was absolutely perfect!
I knew nothing about cars a month ago, but after binging close to 100 episodes, I can safely say I've caught the bug. Keep up the good work. P.S. Maybe a little compression on that audio, for them loud car noises.
Watch initial d to boost up your jdm interest. I mainly got my interest back into cars cuz initial d when i was 14 and now 16and half and actually my car mech school + college starts the next day. Have been following fking million car channels and videos about cars from side to side and usually min 5h a day of watching videos :D in summer vacation alot more
Formular E is Great! I have been to the race in berlin and it was fantastic. There are even a few more reasons why it is so: It is relatively sustainable for a racing series. They use only one set of tyres per race. Tickets are quite cheap or at least way cheaper than Formula 1 Tickets. It is very interesting to wander through the E-Village (fan area) because all the main car manufacturers show their ideas for the future of cars an the new electric cars. I can definitely recommend following this racing series!
I love FE too... Also, the first time I heard those cars, the first thing that came to my mind was a root style or a screw style supercharger without a engine... But it was a electric motor...
@@pccchurch Well, the first thing that came to my thought was a supercharger without a engine... But now that you have said it, the image is changing...
FE is a funny series. Its like watching go karts. Or F1 2019 online open lobby haha. But tbh i rather watch F2. I find the fan boost very stupid tho. F1 is F1 so that one i watch regardless. I respect the passion in this video tho , so if i ever co.e across a race live on tv ill watch.
Because they're electric. They sound like god damn RC cars, even with all the improvements. There's absolutely NO excitement about the electric vehicles racing (and EVs in general), no matter how much close racing they give us. It's cringy to watch it. This also includes hybrids, automatic and autonomus (self-driving) vehicles, even though they are very impressive (e. g. Rimac Concept 2). And the new Gen 2 Formula E do look very sexy, I admit it. But they still aren't doing it for me (and probably for many others), if you know what I mean.
I really tried getting into formula-e and I still want to. But what always gets me is the tracks. I'm just not a fan of these types of circuit. However formula e is really cool and I hope it continues to grow
@@nickmendez3707 ok then tell me another racing group who got 8 different winners in 8 different teams from 8 different countries winning the first 8 races of the season
@@nickmendez3707 For example? When you make a claim, you have to back it up with relevant examples and observable evidence. Otherwise you're just spouting hot air.
@@Pal42_ literally any racing series in which everybody drives the same car. Or any racing series where people are randomly allowed to increase engine performance. No need to go all fanboy just because I criticized your favorite show. Just use your head.
@@piccoloatburgerking ooo look at you using big words. 90% of this is done better in series such as f1 or f5000 even Formula Ford or Indy car except more exciting because the cars are actually on cool circuits. Another example is bumper cars and go karting. They also have intentional and encouraged crashing. Or if you like the video game stuff then watch rally cross or gymkhana. If you want to see cars that handle like road cars then watch TCR in which they actually race road cars. If that's too slow then watch V8 Supercars. The list keeps going for racing series that do better than this.
