I'm an oil tech and work next to very reputable mechanics, I work on my vehicles myself, and you're right granted I know very trustworthy mechanics there are a lot that will try to get over on you, always look up reviews on the shop, and always do a slight bit of research online about your problem before just going in and saying "idk what's wrong can you help me"

Another tip: Check your Battery cables on the battery. I was driving down the road and my car electricals (ALL) shut off. Reason: my positive cable was not tight to the battery. Tightened up the positive and ran fine.

I drove my 1999 Accord sedan to look at a 1999 Accord coupe that died 6 months ago and all that the owner did was post it on Facebook a week ago and respond to 20% of my messages. With the good battery from my car, nothing happened when I turned the key. We tried to track down the grounds and stuff, but that was already more effort that I wanted to put into someone else's car.

Best video explanation! I was afraid it’s my alternator but the way you described it that’s not it at all but my battery! Every 3 days I got to get a jump start. It will try to turn on the first push with push start, it makes a noise, lights turn on but dim then nothing the next few tries. Soon as I get a jump my Nissan good for 3 days! Plus a lot of post say batteries last 5 to 10 years and I was mad at that due to my battery is only between 2-3 yrs old so I’m also glade you said battery like are between that time 2-3! Deadass thank you bec my truck was doing #3 and then I went straight to auto-zone and a guy was really helpful and very informative. 🤠✨

If your driving down the road and your car shuts down and you notice that your temperature is high or maxed out it could be your thermostat as well. If you don't want to spend the money on a tow then you wait for your car to cool down and you can restart it and drive it a bit more until the temp starts to get high again. Don't let it overheat while driving but it can get you down the road at least. Change the thermostat and you should be all good. If your RPMs go up and down intermittently and sometimes your car shuts down that could be either your camshaft or crankshaft sensor. You would possibly have a code that autozone or advance auto parts or somewhere would be able to read it and let you know what the code means and you can go from there.

Yeah ive been working back through issues with an engine for about 8 solid months now. It used to do nothing, fixed a rat chewed wire to the neutral safety bypass, replaced battery, terminal clamps, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, crank angle sensor, starter and coil. Fixed some more rat chewed wires leading to the ignitor module. Turning ignition, now the starter turns and fuel pump is pushing good pressure but still no spark. Injectors are pulsing, gas fumes are being pushed put through the tail pipe and the engine is tucking air. So literally everything is working on the car now except for whatever is holding up spark for combustion. I'll figure it out but the battery definitely isn't the problem here...the problem is a bunch of 40yr old sensors and wiring that's showing it's age after the car was abandoned for 10 years in a field and got covered over with blackberries

5th scenario could also be a bad PCM. My Durango would die while being driven and no one could figure out what it was. Turns out it was a bad PCM and wiring going to it also had to be replaced at a Dodge Dealer. Great video...

My problem is the first one you describe, it wouldnt turn on with my remote starter and i need to jump start it every day. Where im currently living it has been very cold, so i gave it a few days to see if it resolved it self but it fixed it self. So im going to take your advice and go to auto part store and buy a new battery. Thank you for the great video and the sound affect helped a lot.

This guy is giving us the correct information! I have a 2006 300c 5.7 hemi and mine would shut-off while I'm driving and the battery light would pop on ! I would get a boost then it starts and before I get a block over shuts off again!! Then it completely stop turning on for the rest of the day ! I have a feeling it's my alternator I will soon give a update when fixed!!

This was my first drive after having my starter motor replaced. This morning it's been raining and no go, starter motor is sparking and making a dirty clicking sound. Kinda like a machine gun :L Brilliant. From what I got here it could be a tough one but battery is fine?

Thank you brother. I went to auto zone and it turned out my battery was dead and they notice the battery was their brand and checked to see if it was under warranty. I didn’t even realize that. It was and I got a new battery. Once again thank you.

Awesome video, Mr. Drew. What happens when the starter will run off the car but, not on the car? I had a certified auto electrician check the whole car for shorts, damages and wires that might be disconnected. The starter relay is good and working as well as the safety neutral switch and the ignition switch and new battery. Also, the engine is not locked up.Also, the battery cables are new. Please help. Awesome video. Thanks a lot.

I had the "tick, tick, tick" sound going on...I tested my battery and it was giving me 12.4 vdc. After watching your video I put a charger on it & it cranked right up. You left out another commonly overlooked issue why your car won't start. Check the mass airflow sensor. If its dirty it won't send the correct air/fuel mixture to the engine. Also your fuel economy will suffer. Be sure to have it checked and/or cleaned periodically, or even replaced if it needs to...usually whenever you change the air filter.

My girlfriend denies it and I know it wasn't me. The dog doesn't say anything, just smiles.
