I seem to remember getting pretty detailed action scenes involving the Chief in the original trilogy of Halo books (Fall of Reach, The Flood, First Strike)
@@CoopaTheGreat He literally beat the living shit out of three ODSTs in The Fall of Reach, crippling two of them and straight-up fucking killing the third.
North and south where always my favorite for the first scene just the sheet teamskills only these two really had were so good, they worked perfectly without really talking all that much
@@CoopaTheGreat Everybody was Good against goons/regular soldiers. But if there was a arc were the girls decided to revolt, they would've been mopped, as shown in most fights.... Just Odd.
@@dirceusantos7308 it's honestly just Texas and Carolina, two main people to the RvB powerhouse and one of them is a supped up ai and the other is just a bad ass that would probably lose a 2v1 scenario against any two of the guys
@@conchurfitzsimons570 Felix was getting his ass handled by Carolina until Locust saved him, didn't manage to kill tucker. Although he was toying with him and had the upper hand yet.... He still never went for the kill but grunts were like flies against him. Locust same thing against Washington and injured also fatigued Carolina. Same for shark face, seemed bagasse until he got Carolined.
honestly the fight between carolina/tex and ct/resistance leader is one of the coolest fight scene animations ive ever seen. The fact that I haven't seen any animated fight scenes that have come anywhere close to the level of quality in the choreography, animation, and flow is baffling and amazing. Someone needs to bring back the spirit Monty poured into these fight scenes, this shit is too good to be left behind.
There’s 6 fights though 1. South and north vs resistance/ Charon 2. York Wyoming and Maine vs Texas 3. Freelancers vs resistance/ Charon in space 4.Texas and Carolina vs C.T. and resistance leader 5. Reds and blues vs Tex 6. Reds and blues vs Tex army
See when Tex fought Maine, Wyoming, and York, even tho they all got completely shut down you can tell that York was the only one who stood a slight chance. He manages to get a few hits off and when they were circling her he went down last after getting said hits. This shows how great York is bruh.
and he actually tried to make plans, not just rush in. this and other reasons are why York is my favorite of the Freelancers (followed by Wash because he's Wash)
Made me so sad when carolina killed him. Its the one thing that stops me from liking her. York cared for her so much, tried to explain what he was doing and she just fed into the directors lies
That scene has always made me feel like Tex actually had a bit of respect for York. Not a lot but still some. I'm not even counting the part where she pelted him to protect him from the grenade.
I really miss Monty and basically everything that RvB use to be since after season 14 the show has just went downhill and became a mess. The fight scene of Tex vs the Reds and Blues is much higher quality and has so much passion in it than most of the new stuff and there's no heart in the series anymore sadly
The sad thing is, the pros went up against Texas and got their butts kicked at every turn and had trouble getting back up more than twice. The rejects, though? The fragmented Red and Blue team members also got the crap kicked out of them but they got back up again a heck of a lot faster and kept trying to fight. Griff even got hit in the nuts REPEATEDLY and kept getting back up.
The reds and blues dealt with being hit by other shit WAAAAY before they fought tex in that simulation room. I think it's the fact that they got used to being tossed around that they were able to constantly get back up. Compare this to the freelancers, who-- due to their skill in combat-- don't have to worry or deal with being sent across every directional axis like a ragdoll. This lack of exposure may be the reason they can't handle it when they DO get tossed around.
The thing about red vs blue fight scenes was that they didn’t happen every episode, and while season 9 did have a lot and so did ten, it was always matched out with incredible story, the characters that drive the universe of red vs blue, what the later seasons, especially zero wasn’t what red vs blue was about
The original rvb had the genre: Action AND comedy. Zero just had action WITH comedy. Plus it felt like it was progressing way too quickly and did not let us connect with the characters properly.
@@noone-ov3cp if you just completely disregard everything post chorus trilogy you can imagine it did :) ive never watched past season 13 and i never intend to.
@@jacobely6826 i did watch 14 (actually pretty cool experiment, and fleshed out the EU) and 15, but it didnt do anything for me Even regarding how flat they fell, season 20 shouldve been the last, cuz theyd hold the record for longest webseries for decades regardless
@@jacobely6826hey good news. They’re retconning past the chorus trilogy as Church’s simulations of the reds and blues futures and continuing the story from the cliffhanger. They’re also bringing Burnie back as the writer.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 that’s actually a good theory now that I think about it. In season 14 when Flowers trips on the cable the replacement name is reset to Michael J Caboose so that might hold merrit
@@ereynolds72 its pathetically juvenile that your getting defensive over someone whose been dead for a while and you don't even know personally. All you are is a random Karen who is getting offended for no amn reason
you know, i think its pretty impressive how long the reds + tucker lasted against tex when maine, york, and washington all got obliterated by her in seconds. They lasted minutes getting pummeled by her.
I mean when you see the number of rounds with Sticks, HtH, and the paint rounds I would say they probably got it worse; they had to have been doing that for an hour at least.
I have a vague memory of reading some info from way back when that said that the new body Epsilon-Church put Tex into was substandard compared to Tex's original one.
the way the old fight scenes fit into the pauses and big hits in the music is so fucking good, and its something that the newer seasons kind of lacked. only thing better than a meaty punch is when it hits at just the right time to be in line with the music. Edit: Good example is 3:57.
@@CoopaTheGreat Not when it comes to RVB: Zero they seriously screwed it up there because they don't know how to use the Unreal Engine and the show is pretty shit in general as well.
An end to an Era is coming, lads. Arguably it maybe should have ended a bit sooner when everybody could have been a part of the Finale, and a couple of the later seasons have certainly been painfully bad (Looking at you RvB Zero), but its still going to be sad to see it end. Kind of a lot of that going on right now, at least for me.
Monty truly was gifted in his skills regarding choreography. RT’s fight scenes in their various shows have never been the same since his untimely departure. As for these fight scenes. Tex’s fight again Maine, Wyoming, and York is easily my favorite fight. The music just perfectly fits with what we are seeing.
Tex and York have a great team up later in the series. Keen ears will notice in the song "On Your Knees" from the series, New York is one of the only few states left off the big list...
Say what you want about grif, but he’s stupidly resilient. How many times did he get his balls smashed in? And by TEX of all people. Aka THE BEST FREELANCER besides Carolina
Yeah that one was really good but I didn’t think about it when I made it two years ago, and the vid was removed for a while due to copyright but it was publicized again idk why. And Tex IS the best fighter (or second best)
Tex vs maine and Washington should have been on here in my opinion just not sure which of these fights it should replace but honestly im gonna lean towards the ct fight, its a good one but tex vs maine and Washington and the fight between maine and the reds and blues were among my favorites
There was one moment missing from this: "Hey asshole! YAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" *CRASH* "......fuck." "It's charged." "Okay then, fuck it, shoot'em."
If you notice. Carolina tries to prevent Griff from getting hit in the balls in the fight against the failed Texas copies, but for doing so she gets her ass kicked. This is because she attempted to prevent a canon event.
I feel sad because the first part of the video, Coffee Man was practically defenseless, and he had to drop A cup of coffee to activate the alarm, I am now sad.
8:09 can you just imagine the frustration Carolina (and the rest of the freelancers) must have felt when they find out that the first person to get a good hit on tex was fucking Connie
3:36 POV: you’re a Spartan-IV who just got out of augmentations a year ago in a sparring session with a Spartan-II who’s seen more shit in a year than your entire squad has throughout their whole careers. “Back in my day, we didn’t have any fancy “shaped energy shields”, we had two kig-yar gauntlets and an emergency patching kit! And we had to share the emergency patching kit!”
There were too many nearly identical shots/sequences between this & “The Package” episode from Halo Legends for it to be a coincidence. Are there connections between RvB & Legends that I don’t know about?
To be fair to Grif if you slow it down at 19:05 that Tex was forced to dodge Grif's melee attack with the Grif Shot. It sucks that Donut only use grenades once for the entire fight as that slick entrance with a triple headshot in one throw was a very cruel tease.
